>>215068218I watched Society 1989, it was sometimes more silly than disturbing, I liked the aesthetic of late 80s Beverly Hills rich people.

>The Scale:ExcellentWorth a WatchGod Job! Not Worth Watching! (well-made in many ways, but too dreadful for a full view)Hot Garbage>>215068218B’twixt Now and Sunrise – The Authentic Cut (2011, re-edited in 2022) – For me it’s a Good Job! Not Worth Watching. For someone else, the better lines and images might make it Worth a Watch . . . *if* he can bear another metaphoric meta-film about OVERCOMING GRIEF and THE PAIN OF CREATIVITY. Struggling writer Val Kilmer *seems* to go to a rural town to sign books and come up with an idea for his next. Gorgeous Elle Fanning appears in his dreams as a vampire, as does Edgar Allan Poe as a sort of spirit guide. Things clip along with the warm incidental details and idiosyncratic character development of a *straight* narrative about a haunted little town (the kind of thing October people are always wanting to see done right) . . . but then the genuinely interesting world dissolves into archetypal fragments, and everything is revealed to be an invention of writer Val. This is always the easy and STUPID way. Metaphoric dissolution of the sort is the cheapest possible choice, the effortless method by which you can hand-wave every unsolved mystery you create, and preemptively guard yourself against feelings of inadequacy in case somebody thinks your imaginative work is CREEENGE. It’s never excusable. Create bravely or not at all! Sure, young Elle is almost supernaturally beautiful in this -- but you can enjoy her elsewhere. (There are, seemingly, several cuts. It’s mostly known for the original Twixt cut, and there are scenes that are different, but it all amounts to the same lame thing.)
>>215068319I think it was one of the first horror movies I saw. They played it on a local cable station around Halloween when I was a kid, but it was a censored version.
>>215068307i just looked up what the transformation looked like in this version and holy shit that's way better than the '31 makeup
Putting the first one on, never seen any of them. Hope it's good.
The first criticshit horror
>>215069611Forgot pic
>>215069593It was. Idk about the rest other than Halloween being worth watching.

>>215069722>he doesn't know about the secret zombie subs
>>215069713Examples pls
>>215069752did they put retarded comedic subtitles for the scared little bitches to be less spooked? As a fan since the early 90's I think of return of the living dead as a horror movie with light sprinkling on humor. Them treating it like its just another goofy shit zombie movie really sets my nipples on fire.
>>215069713They certainly can make some good ones. Speaking of, I hope everybody in here has seen La Cabina? Some nice anon recommended this to me last year. They even have a replica of the sinister phone booth on public display in Madrid.https://youtu.be/1H1_p6B4Ugo?si=ZaZ0WLhJ3JcFToquAt a few seconds over 34 minutes, I think everybody can make some time for it.
>WNUF Halloween SpecialOverrated zogslop.
>>215069888It's lazy and used the commercial breaks way too often. It wasn't really like that back then
>>215069593You'll either love it or be indifferent towards it. For the average viewer I'd recommend people start with VHS 2 instead since the segments there tend to be more entertaining. For the VHS series just expect wraparounds with underwhelming endings and generally fun found footage sloppa Outside of Viral, '99 and '85. Those are the weakest entries in the series by far and only have one segment really going for them.
>>215069774RECTerrified/AterradosErrementariThe Orphanage
It's really weak.
watch 2LDK
Tonight’s movie: Q the Winged Serpent
>>215070008not a big fan of the psycho chink chick subgenre
>>215069593I still like all the segments, especially the last one. idk what happened with 94 but the quality dropped off a fucking cliff.
>>215070044The shudder ones have too many Filters that look cheap and fake, rather than realistic like the first two
>>215069907It just sucks. Especially compared to something similar like Ghostwatch or that one episode of Tales from the Crypt.

just watched the (literal) final ConjuringIt's just okay as an horror movie, but the ending sure is wholesome, kind of cheesy, still sweet, with most of the survivors from the Conjuring/Annabelle/Nun movies showing up at the weddingwelp, end of the road
>Let me see your face!
I really, really like the Grave Encounters moviesYes even the second one
>mfw the ending of Phantasm
>>215070001Yeah I watched 1 and 2 back-to-back with my friend for the first time and 2's reveal was so cheap and dumb. The gimmick of the first movie got real old as early as 2. I bet the other movies are unbearable.
