I asked for chink horror threads ago and watched calamity of snakes which was insane so I looked for another on my own and came across hell has no boundaries which was insane for plot reasons than production. I don't want to spoil the ending, but the spirit of vengeful little girl possesses her reincarnation over ehat happened to her in the past. I don't shit about old china, but was selling your children to have their organs harvested and cooked as "goat meat" in markets a thing? >>215165508>but the spirit of vengeful little girl possesses her reincarnation over ehat happened to her in the past.I'm no Buddhism expert so I'm confused about how you possess you own reincarnation. Wouldn't your spirit already be in their body? That's what "reincarnation" means as I understand it. Though I think Buddhists believe there is no "self" so I don't know how reincarnation works if there isn't an immortal fundamental component of being.

Rob Zombie's Halloween movies are underrated. I like how Michael is an absolute force of nature in them. H2 especially, with the sheriff and Annie subplot is way above garbage like the Terrifier movies. It also has one of the coolest looking Halloween parties ever shot on film.

It's interesting to compare RZH2 with Halloween (2018) in their depiction of trauma. In H18 trauma makes you into a toughened gun toting badass that knows how to take care of shit unlike your soft family. In RZH2 trauma is completely devastating and poisons your life and all your relationships.
>>215165760Romero's daughter has one coming out. The Soskas also did one in which the MC was Ben's descendant, which was the incredibly flimsy way of advertising it as NotLD-related.
>>215165959It feels weird to say this about a movie that features gratuitous dialogue about necrophilia and strippers getting massacred, but I feel like RZH2 has a really big heart. Almost every character gets their moment of genuine emotional reckoning.
>>215165915>the blooper where she had to keep lifting the toilet seat cover when it would fall on Scout's head during the stress vomit scene
>>215165959>>215165854and that's the problem with rob zombie.his Halloween 1 has really interesting concepts of institutionalization and bullying toxic families, legitimate toxic masculinity ( the step dad) really interesting work on internalized abuse, but then he has to ruin everything by awful white trash language. terrible casting and just fucking awful shaky cam. his dialogue is just fucking retarded.
>>215165780The reincarnation of her brother, who both cared for one another put a stopped to that. I think her spirit was finally put to rest or dragged to hell but it's kinda hard to deal with the way the scenes are framed. I still reccomend it if you like sad possession stories
>>215166092Yeah his dialogue is always the worst part for me. Feels like he's going for Tarantino style free riffing but instead of the conversation being about McDonald's in Europe or not tipping waitresses, it's about skullfucking dead skunks or whatever. Really off-putting.

I also like it. it was funny and charming in a way. the only time I've seen rob zombie angry, legitimately angry was in the behind the scenes filming of this movie. they were filming some scenes and he yells "ITS NOT GONNA GET ANY BETTER JUST ROLL WITH IT" apparently the crew also didn't speak English if remember correctly

It’s the same empathy that makes The Devil’s Rejects so effective. I've only watched a handful of horror movies in my life, but I fired up Tubi and watched the first Hellraiser yesterday. There was certainly less screen time dedicated to the Cenobites than I anticipated, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Clare Higgins was a total smokeshow, as much as a murderous necrophiliac corpo mommy can be.
>>215168053If you enjoyed that, watch the ORIGINAL Candyman and Lord of Illusions, both with Clive Barker as writer and/or director.
Pontypool (2008) – A very strong Worth a Watch, in which the slippery tongued Stephen McHattie (an actor with many Willem Dafoe-ish qualities), portrays a provocative radio jock relegated to a station in a snow-blanketed Ontario backwater after losing some *cushier* job. There are only two settings: the interior of the station, and the blinding blizzard outside, which we only catch snatches of. The movie would fall apart, and it would be boring -- which it NEVER is -- were it not for the constant torrent of fun, *fast-rattling* dialog that sketches broader events in the mind’s eye: there is a zombie infection going around that spreads, not by virus or bacteria, but by INFORMATION. Certain words in the English language are infected, and upon *understanding* the meaning of these compromised words, susceptible individuals start mindlessly parroting phrases and *sounds* around them, then look for victims to kill OR zombify . . . which are apparently mutually exclusive? Sometimes, according to the information we receive, they chew *through* people as if looking for something -- and sometimes they suicide and infect people in some nebulous way. The mechanics of the infection are a little jumbled, but going from the tone of the movie, perhaps they’re meant to be. At any rate, this facet is *unsatisfying* enough that Pontypool doesn’t quite reach Excellent. (There are certainly comedic elements, yet the zombie plague is truly terrifying in both implication and portrayal. With the limited setting and dialog focus, this would make a great stage play.)
>>215167789>It’s another “I shell out fiddy bongbucks for a blu ray i already have but with art cards of a frenchfu this time” episode Oh well. Started my watch through of the Paranormal Activity series. Turns out I have seen the first 3 before and it came back to me during my watch. Going in chronological order, because why not? Only affects the first 3 I believe. Anyway, here's what I watched this morning:>Paranormal Activity 3This I enjoyed more than 2, although a movie set in 1988 being shot on VHS tapes seems weird, since it's in 16:9 widescreen and the image is very clear. The performances by the kid not being total dog shit is shocking. The movie overall and especially the ending was pretty good.>Paranormal Activity 2I liked it, except for the dad being the stereotypical doubter that dooms everyone in the end. Really, what a fucking retard. Dog and daughter are both great. Having all three women in bikinis at one point was great, the director knew what the people wanted. As I said, not as good as 3, but still enjoyed it. Maybe I was sleeping on this series. Hope the rest are good too.>Vampire NightIt takes half the runtime to amount to anything and then it's just not enough. There's a good scene here and there, but I wouldn't watch it again. If you absolutely need a new Vampire movie, give it a watch.

>>215168811I've never even seen his movies, I routinely forget he exists at all. How does this make you feel
>>215168811Rob Zombie's a great filterOnly stupid people hate himIt's smart not to take him seriously and he's made great stuff and garbage, bit disliking him outright is for retards
>>215168811Real RZ fans love The Munsters, anyone else is just a poser and never got him to begin with.
weapons was overhyped mediocre zoomer slopi'm watching asylum now to cleanse my palette
>>215167729>/hor/ reading comprehensionOpen the damn schools
>>215168957Basado. Rob is basically a /hor/fag who got money to fund his witches, goblins, ghosties and ghouls obsession. The Munsters was him doing pop up mall Halloween store core. I guess he disappointed people because they wanted an edgy Wednesday style update to the Munsters but he refused. I wouldn't have wanted to see it done in the style of his previous movies. My only misgiving with the movie is that it doesn't have Marilyn and Eddie.
>>215169214Where are the people who aren't narrow-minded? I liked Weapons, I like Asylum, I liked Vampyr, Possession, Tokyo Gore Police, Alucarda, The Gate, [Rec], Coffin Joe, A Serbian Film, Poltergeist, A Ghost Story for Christmas, Hardware, WNUF, Malignant, Texas Chainsaw, Videodrome, American Guinea Pig, Coraline, Pontypool, hell, life is fun and I'm happy, lol
>>215169313>My only misgiving with the movie is that it doesn't have Marilyn and Eddie.I think it was an extended pilot for a TV show and those two would've joined later if it had been picked up.
Were the 90s really as comfy as this show makes it out to be?
Watched VHS Halloween last night. Pretty mid. What parts were people upset about? Funsize? Kidprint?
>>215169346no, sadly the 90s irl were not shot on 16mm and had special effects done on tape to give it a comfy look
>>215169331>Where are the people who aren't narrow-minded?Me. I get shit for it, but don't care.>Tokyo Gore PoliceLegend of the splatter genre>[Rec]Great FF movie>A Serbian FilmDidn't like it. Tries to be really edgy, but the effects & props make it look like shit.>MalignantDidn't like it, but my hatred of trauma-horror is immense.>American Guinea PigFound it boring and wish movies would stop treating people as endless blood bags.>Texas Chainsaw3D? I liked it. I think some hate is simply because it has a black guy in it that opens the movie making out with a white girl.
>>215169404People will always be wildly differing on what VHS segments they like or hate. It's like asking people to rank Tarantino movies. Personally, Halloween was the first one I liked start to finish. People think Fun Size was too goofy and Kidprint was too serious but I liked both. Alex Ross Perry was the main reason I was interested in seeing this installment.
>>215169413>my hatred of trauma-horror is immenselol, Malignant was a comedy, manIt was like Wan's love letter to Full Moon
>>215169413how is malignant a trauma horror? everything that happens is literal, it's not an allegory for anything. it's a b movie. there's a difference between something like "the monster is actually grief and addiction", and there is literally a monster growing out of the back of your head

>>215169316>tfw even the shittiest incarnations of a slasher villain get a figure but none for the hero charactersFreddy from the Gay Freddy movie got a fig and Nancy still doesn't have one. Surely that would move more units than Gay Freddy. At least Loomis got one, that was cool.
>>215169748Lauren Lavera has a figure
>>215168928he's a one trick pony. he only has one trick, white rednecks yelling and cursing. he's like the Michael bay of horror. always the same crap. it's not worth hating because it's so cliche and repetitive. it's sad and pathetic. ironically his best movie is lords of Salem since it's not shaky cam garbage or more rednecks cursing. >>215169313oh but he never does that. no, never.I WISH rob zombie had done a movie with goblins or ghouls or vampires or werewolves. I wish he had done a movie about the stuff he sings about but no. outside the monsters he just does the equivalent of a Jerry Springer episode in movie form.

>>215163240>Bates Motel the series/showfor the farmiga fags>Hereditary>Carrie>Two Sisters>mommie dearest>mother's day>Butterbox babies>white oleander>Friday the 13th
what the fuck is this Five Nights at Freddy's movie? The animatronics are murderers but they're also friendly? The movie is halfway over and it hasn't even tried to be scary. For a game that was 100% about cheap jump scares, this film is a plot driven mess about a crazy guy and his autistic daughter.
>>215169928>he's a one trick ponyWhy is that bad? AC/DC has sold 200m+ records by playing the same shit for the past 40+ years.
Couple short ones last night>Blood Feast (1963)This is some Ed Wood level shit here. Same guy who did Two Thousand Maniacs and The Wizard Of Gore.>The HostBest FF I've seen in a while.>>215165198She could hang from trees with those.
>>215163586t. booty blasted by the pipesorry about that, pretty grating watch. kinda won me over with the last act the more I think about it today
>>215170025I loved Bates Motel's twist on the story, where Norma is an overprotective coddling mom instead of a shrill, evil woman who beats him and sexually humiliates him like in Psycho IV. Badly mismanaging your child's burgeoning mental illness is a much more tragic story than being so evil you singlehandedly caused it.
I haven't been this excited for anything all year :)
>>215165780ohhh now I get it

The Craft (1997) – In this solid Worth a Watch, a coven of would-be teen witches achieve *actual* power when a fourth, more innately talented girl comes to L.A. and joins their circle. Part high school drama from the era *just before* kids all fell into their cell phones, part teen girl POWER FANTASY with a horror twist, it’s a slow-paced film with mostly polished parts. Sexy Fairuza Balk warps her big, rubbery mouth with maniacal glee as Nancy -- her wicked twisting of her magic constituting much of the film’s interest. All around, there’s considerable exploration of the old adage: “power corrupts.” Balk’s Nancy turns violent when it’s in her power to harm and get *away* with it; Neve Campbell’s Bonnie aspires to be a turboslut when her back scars are healed. Robin Tunney’s protagonist Sarah, though, is one of the less interesting characters -- competently portrayed, but boring. So is Rachel True’s Rochelle, who just goes along with WHATEVER. Hers is a real-life personality type, but dull on film, even more because Rochelle is the only one whose home life we never glimpse, whose parents we never see. One thing that always struck me as bizarre and a little ill-fitting, even back when I saw a fragment of The Craft as a teenager: In the early part of the movie, the four girls witness a harmless, snake-handling bum get fatally run over by a car; every one of them, even Mary Sue SUPERWITCH Sarah, cackles with glee while considering that perhaps they, in fact, *willed* this to happen. Certainly, we could assume that Sarah, being blessed with all this elemental power, might be a bit *emotionless* as a side-affect . . . yet she weeps and wails when others are later harmed by her circle’s magic. The bum is noticeably absent from a tally of evils she recites toward the end . . .
Thoughts on Bring Her Back?I'd give it a 5/10.
What's the appeal of rape and revenge movies? They're borderline wish fullfillment capeshit, yet for some reason they're often labeled horror.
>>215171120Because rape is allegedly scarier than ghosts or zombies.
