alright i finished Troll 2 and Best Worst Movie. what a crazy ride. ill have to check out some of Claudio Fragasso's other work, but it seems like a lot of them were codirected with more competent directors. i found him and his wife to be pretty interesting because they sincerely believe it's a serious, timeless parable with an important message, and though he has said "i was the most American director in America", he seems to not really understand Americans much at all.

I can't help but imagine every time I see it that if it was made nowadays there would be some flying drone with a flashlight on it and a black guy in a mech apparatus listening to rap music while he drilled into the wall to find the creature but in this it's just a scenic little montage that moves the plot forward at a brisk pace
