You guys listen to Chapo? If you do, you'd know that Will Menaker frequently references Star Trek. He's a fan. Recently, he want on the podcast 'Guys' to talk Trek. Embarrassingly though, the host referenced Tuvix. And Will had no idea. He tried correcting him, telling it's pronounced 'Tuvok'. And the other guest had to remind him what Tuvix is. Other than that blunder. I recommend giving it a listen. Some funny riffs. Shitting on NuTrek.

Forever. You just add /trek/ to the catalog filter once and it will automatically filter every thread with /trek/ in the subject for the rest time.

You've spent an inordinate amount of time and energy complaining here about how much you want to filter this place rather than actually filtering it. You're an insufferable retard.

I don't watch every episode every time. It just plays in the background on a spare laptop. If I'm watching another movie or playing a game Star Trek is still playing. >I don't mind Lwaxana either.
Lwaxana got so much hate because she got so much screen time and attention that it took focus away from other, more interesting storylines. If she only had one or two episodes, nobody would even care enough to hate her.
We watch Star Trek for space adventures and moral dilemmas. Not to follow a middle aged widow's quest for purpose.
And even casual viewers could figure out the actress was given one episode every season because she had connections to the producers.
>>
>>215458971

I'd do it. Have a comfy office in San Fran. Chill. Read all the wacky Captain's Logs getting emailed in from all over the quadrant. Like, one ship went too fast and they turned into lizards. Or, an alien that's just floating orb got some crewman pregnant. Or, some crew were investigating a primitive planet and accidentally became the caveman's god. Laff about all the dumb shit happening to those dweebs. Have a long lunch. Read a couple more logs. Sneak out early.

And. Whenever you feel like an adventure. Hop in your shuttlepod. Over to the nearest starship. Park in their shuttlebay. Stroll up to the bridge. Wait in the turbolift until the captain says something. Then make a dramatic entrance. 'Belay that order!'. Sit in their chair. Commandeer the ship as ranking officer. Then do whatever you want.

Everything about ENT was fucking ugly. The uniforms, the ship, etc.

I hated the look of the show. TOS has such a cool unique look comparatively, very colorful and dynamic but ENT is just drab and flat and "realistic" and "wow they look like astronauts" and "cool the ship is like a real life battleship on the inside!" but it just ends up feeling kind of soulless and un-trek to me.

DS9 has better guest appearances & lore connections with TOS than it does with TNG. No Gene with the ability to show conflict really improved the series.

Question NERDS
>Voyager, S1E7 - Eye of the Needle
Kino episode but Tuvok says something awfully queer in the cold open when they discover the small wormhole
>TUVOK: There is, of course, a seventy five percent chance the wormhole will not lead to the Alpha Quadrant.

Odd thing to say as it's implying two assumptions.
1. Wormholes cannot link to other galaxies
2. Given the womrhole is constricteed to the Milky Way's boundaries, there's an absolutely equal chance it opens at any other point in the galaxy, regardless of proximity

Given the assumption of #2, it makes hte assumption of #1 all the more strange.
Quite an ODD phrase from the usually logical Tuvok

You're right, a wormhole could reopen two feet away or a billion light years, it makes no difference. Petty much every tv writer fails to understand wormholes. why is Satan at the centre of the galaxy in ST5?
they already went to the centre of the galaxy in TAS, is TAS non-canon then?
why was Worf his own grandfather in ST6?
then they go to the centre of the galaxy again in TNG (The Nth Degree), and were met with a curious omnipotent figure who seems almost god-like, where did Satan go?
why was Odo treated as so exotic in DS9 when David Bowie's wife was a different type of changeling in ST6?

So are tentacles. It's highly unlikely that primates evolve on so many different planets, primates with 4 limbs, 5 digits each, all being around at the same time to be able to meet each other. Life in the cosmos didn't start on a tuesday at 9. There would be gaps of millions of years between the technological level of each species.

>>
>>215465067
humanoid does not mean primate. it means a bipedal quadrupeds with head at the top. no one needs any explanation for why on all the planets in Star Trek we constantly see other analogs of Earth creatures. if there was some alien that had tentacles like an octopus no one would give a fuck or question it but oh suddenly something that has the shape of a human is so fucking confusing how it could possibly ever exist except on Earth. it's so anthropocentric I would argue it even goes against the entire fucking conceit of Star Trek.
