>>215487591Same, but everyone seems to love it, and it fits the time I need to fill.
>>215487647Everyone is npc, dude.
>>215487643why wouldn't it be?
>>215487643Sci-fi drama
Together was actually pretty good. The biggest downsides were the fact that Dave Franco simply cannot act, he's just offputting and terrible in almost every way (Brie does all the heavy lifting imo). The ending is almost comical too which kinda ruins everything... I mean the central premise is pretty dumb as is, but at least they keep it engaging. The final shot is a pisstake though.
first for bava
>>215487407hell yeah
dang in the 90s we almost got a The Mummy project that passed hands from Romero to Mick Garris to Joe Dante with a Clive Barker script with Rick Baker monster design starring Christoper Lee and with support from Spielberg but Universal wouldn't make it for $25 million, their ceiling was $15 for non-mainstream horror. They even worked out a deal but then new ownership took over at Universal and cooked up a darker bloodier period script like Dracula but then new ownership again said nah let's make it a $80M PG-13 adventure which is what ended up as The Mummy 1999

>barbarian>hereditary>the conjuring>midsommar>the witchany of these worth watching? i skipped them because their trailers looked bad, but their lasting popularity makes me reconsider
>>215488073Watch The VVitch and if you don't like that then skip the rest
>>215488073the witch is pretty good through and through, in my opinion, and the conjuring is surprisingly comfy other than that, i'd only watch one out of midsommar and hereditary (both have the same flaws imo), and then completely skip barbarian
what's (in your opinion) the funniest horror movie that's not meant to be humorous or satirical? for me it's the mist. no hate here, i like it! it just feels very b-movie-ish lol. the lead actors are all so theatrical and over the top. ive rewatched the film a couple of times with friends and they all laughed big time at the sequence where the silent hill 1 monsters get in and that one guy sets himself on fire. literal comedy of errors.
>>215488073the conjuring is the only one that isn't wokeand even that has a bit with the chink hitting on the white daughter that one scene
>>215486593>toxic masculinity badYes. And then you wonder why the most common question from boomer dads is, "why won't my adult children talk to me anymore?"
>>215488375I genuinely laughed out loud at the plot twist at the end cuz it was so retardeddidn't know it was coming and everything
>>215487358What did /hor/ think of the new dino horror movie? Pretty solid popcorn flick imo, lived up to my expectations. Well done for a lower budget indie production.>>215488073Definitely Barbarian if you like monster movies.

I am not even that guy most of the time, I also like Leigh Whannell in general, but this one excites my CHUD REFLEX because it is specifically designed to p0wn the "mysoginists." The first story (the werewolf one) was by far the best. I kind of wish they had made the whole movie about that. The other stories were pretty good though.
>>215489864I'm trying to understand what you are getting at but I'm failing here. Do you not understand that a poster like that back in the 80's was manly AF but a chiseled dude showing off his body in a poster like that in current year is probably looking for other dudes? It's the original Anon that says the posters was gay AF who is the zoomer. I'm saying the poster is kino although I would only rock it on a wall filled with other movies from the era. Today having just that poster on a wall filled by itself with nothing else absolutely would be kinda sus.
>>215490079Someone posted this version of the poster before and the "dog" cracks me up, looks like an angry cat.
Primitive War is a lot like a good 80s B-horror, the performances have a bit less gusto but it really captures that over the top trash cinema vibe well

>>215490126The bat is also a fruit bat instead of a vampire bat
>>215490185the cgi is fine, but it's usage is terrible. the original Jurassic Park knew when the difference mattered. low budget films are no difference, if you copy paste it everywhere the action is threatless, weightless, not even fun which is supposed to be the point.
>>215489993He literally did ask though. It's implied by the act of posting it for (you)'s. But you wouldn't understand that because you are autistic. It's ok though it's not your fault you are disabled.
Nothing is gay about this poster>>215489543
>>215490277But we are not masculine in /hor/ so that poster triggers us. We are 40+ with low T
>>215490152>>215490277The zoomer that first replied clearly thought it was gay coded. That shows how much times have changed. Context matters when viewing art. Even the context of the person viewing it. But then that opens up a whole other rabbit hole of how we got to the current context in the first place.

>>215490132>but it really captures that over the top trash cinema vibe wellThis is how I felt, it was a good silly creature movie. I think it turns out that he, Johm, and Odie all died and Garfield is a ghost that has been living in an abandoned house and imagining his family is still alive. When he yells "I don't want to be alone" and everything goes back to normal it was just him refusing to accept reality. Or, like the ending says, the whole thing was him imagining a "terrifying" future.

irl horror kino. Features Rebecca Ferguson. Plus it features scream qveens Willa Fitzgerald and Kaitlyn Dever, but just for 10 and 5 seconds of screentime, respectively.

>>215490982Wow. It's like a real.comic.Did.Jim Davis never try again after this?
>>215493580>PS1 game like Resident Evilsee what I mean with these camera angles, exploring a house, finding items unlocking things, filters, there's a whole video game framing device as well
>>215493410>zoomer movies are so badIsn't it milenials making these trash movies for zoomers because they think it's what sells to zoomers and I guess they're not wrong because zoomers don't understand why nobody wants to talk about these movies, so they seem to like them and be oblivious to the fact they suck.
>>215493117now watch Vamp>>215493240I've always found it way more entertaining
>>215489810that movie was shit. but vtmb2...man that game is terrible>>215490208they removed every single mechanic that made the first one good

>>215487358I finally started my horror viewing this year with my dad. We waited until closer to the 31st because there isn't much left we're capable of re-watching. We saw the original Halloween and The Descent today, tomorrow will be The Hills Have Eyes remake and Signs, which isn't much of a horror movie, but we wanted something with aliens. Maybe Hellraiser I & II during the week at some point. We decided to save The Thing for Christmas this time around. It's been my favorite movie since I was 15 and it's my dad's 2nd or 3rd favorite (after Aliens and Robocop). We must have seen it twice a year for the past 9 years. Anyway, I'm pretty wasted right now and wanted to share this with the board. It's days like this that remind you what it's all about.
>>215493646I've been playing visual novels this month

>>215493590>Features Rebecca Ferguson plus Kaitlyn DeverThere are simply too many freckles to fit on one screen. Also Strange Darling was kino
>>215493712those will be good memories anon
>>21549372573 minute runtime seems hopeful given movies are never that short nowadays.
>>215493713Chuds will rather play video games than settle down with a post-wall roastie
Watched this last night (I was stoned). What did you guys think of it?
>>215493580>Now if you're playing a movie on a second monitor, you will never in a trillion years experience the film. You'll think you have experienced it, but you'll be cheated. It's such a sadness that you think you've seen a film while playing a fucking Resident Evil game on your main screen. Get real.
>>215493710i meant the cool one on the roller skates
>>215493826you were disappointed it didn't end with a traditional narrative but with time, and perhaps another rewatch while sober, you'll recognize it's one of the best animated films ever made.

>>215493633yeah i guess millenial movies were all made by boomers and zoomer movies are made by millenials in a great cycle of soulless corporate pandering. I guess I'm just more rankled by zoomer movies because I'm not the target audience. and that's okay

In case anyone here is wondering, Indians are having a meltdown on X because some white tourists attended the cow dung festival in India and vlogged it online.
>>215493580>Trying to squeeze everything horror-related into one month>Have too many kinos to watch in one day so have to play them at 2x speed>Too many horror vidya so have to play those at the same time>Only one monitorI should've prepared better. >>215493744Yeah, I'm hoping so. Life can be rough and we don't spend much time together. I've been thinking a lot about the song Cat's in the Cradle and how I expected more out of life, but looking back, my best memories are drinking beer and watching movies with my dad. I realized I already have the best I could ask for and should appreciate the small, uneventful days. It can't get better than this.
