Added the Dukat soundfonts to the Dominion War piece. I think it's fully baked now.https://vocaroo.com/1OCFiHsXmvNP
>>215923663"hi we're the Dominion" has been stuck in my head
>>215923663am I crazy or does Dukat sound different in this song in particular in all the versions you posted? he sounds more chilled out or low-energy or something.
Do you think Picard getting stabbed through the heart was a closed loop, and the reason he laughed was always that he realized that getting stabbed meant he had succeeded in correcting the timeline, or do you think it was all a near-death experience, and the reason he laughed was simply due to shock?
>>215923663based af
>>215923807yes
>>215923663Enjoyed it
>>215923757Yeah he's a bit less manic in this one. I might regenerate the voice but I got a few other tracks I want to bang out first

>>215923663Hey Anon, can you share how you write things like Dukat or Cardassia so the AI pronounces it correctly?
>>215925145I've seen many use it. And, I didn't coin it. But, I think you're just backpedalling now. Because I had to explain to you what it meant. And you were confused. Which made you upset.
>>215924850That makes sense since TOS was all ages. DS9 was more geared towards teens and adults with its themes.Another reason modern Trek fails, it's for adults (millennials) only.

>>215925866for me this is the best version it sounds the most new wavey like it's supposed to and the vocals are on so on point I love the intensity of how he says >NOW ITS TIME TO HIT THA...PROMANAAAAAADE
>>215925791Would it ever be possible to tell the AI to sing in Alaimo's voice?
I feel like I am missing out on something; is this supposed to sound like Dukat's voice (the way other AI voice clones somewhat resemble the voice actor singing)? Also are there songs being parodied that I'm not aware of on account of me being old, or are these original music (in addition to original, satirical lyrics)? Not being autistic, I've listened to the cast of TF2 sing numerous songs, it's just the voice doesn't sound like Dukat and I'm not recognizing the songs being parodied.
>>215926559>is this supposed to sound like Dukat's voiceno. anon made a "persona" meaning he created how this voice sounds and has been using it for all the songs as the character of "Dukat." it's not literally meant to sound like Marc Alaimo
>>215926559also the idea isn't really song parody it's in the style of a rock opera of DS9 from the perspective of Dukat and all his shenanigans. Anon plays around with "genre" versions like new wave, disco, yacht rock etc. he writes the lyrics himself and the music is generated with AI assistance. there's a whole process he has explained a few times it kinda seems similar to making stuff with Vocaloids or something

remember when kia got fired at the begining of season 2 and we were supposed to believe sisko and crew actually gave a shit about a dumbass bajoran terrorist they knew for less than a year?ds9 fucking sucks

Your least favourite main character from TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT lads?
>>215928571I haven't watched VOY or ENT yet since I'm still pretty new to Star Trek but>TOS: Sulu (only because he's so bland compared to the other characters)>TNG Troi>DS9: Keiko
>>215928638Keiko hardly counts as main desuMain = appears in almost every single episodeKeiko cumulatively appears in probably about 20ish episodes of DS9's 173.Garak's probably more main than she is.
https://deadline.com/2025/11/star-trek-movie-jonathan-goldstein-john-francis-daley-1236616716/Looks like the PAIN TRAIN is going to keep on rollin' for Trek fans. >>215928923Don't the new Paramount/Skydance owners hate Star Trek and want to take a break from it? They officially killed the Kelvin timeline instead of leaving it on Read.
>>215928923>the guys who did the Dungeons and Dragons movieDid anyone see this? Did this movie just completely disregard the source material or was it pretty faithful?Because if these are the kinds of guys who ignore source material, we're in trouble>>215929033No, I think they actually are quite pro-Trek and recognize it's one of the most valuable IPs they have, it's just been mishandled. Not that I think they'll stop mishandling it, I expect it will just be mishandled in a new way.
>>215923663God DAMN
>>215929069>Did this movie just completely disregard the source material or was it pretty faithful?I remember some people liking it here at least. By virtue of being a movie it'll have to be more actiony
>>215923663>fighting the Klinnons>dumb AI can't even say the word Klingonliterally ruined in like the first line
>>215928571>Uhura>Guinan>Sisko>Tuvok>Mayweather
>>215923663>>215929223Actually, I take it back. Aside from that one flub, it was pretty solid. Could you really not get the guy to say Klingon, though? Or was it an oversight?
>>215929069>Did anyone see this? Did this movie just completely disregard the source material or was it pretty faithful?I'm a D&D secondary but it seemed to have a good balance between being faithful to the source material and appealing to a wider audience. It only suffered from the usual woke tropes of having a useless black character, and a Barbarian girlboss throwing men around like dolls.
>>215929422Well any female character can get 20 str so oddly that's one of the continuities in which that sort of thing wouldn't bother me.Interesting. Maybe we'll get a better version of JJ Trek, then. Actiony and ultimately soulless but decent characterizations.
>>215929388it's not that egregious
>>215923663this one is really super catchy

>>215929914Good stuff anon. I hope you'll publish it all when you're done.
>Nobody ever had to teach me the justice trick. That's something I've always known. A racial memory from my species, I guess. It's really the only clue I have to what kind of people they are. Are these kinds of thoughts appropriate for a Starfleet log? I don't care. There's no room in justice for loyalty or friendship or love. Justice, as the humans like to say, is blind. I used to believe that. I'm not sure I can anymore.
https://x.com/CalumWorthy/status/1988283207138324487This is dark enough to warrant a Star Trek episode. Jesus Christ. Are there any episodes that touch on this? Maybe the one where the alien poses as that kid's dead mother?
>>215930295Actually, my DS9 choice should be any one of the Weyoun. But I still can't stand Worf.
>>215930344you're thinking of Black Mirror, not Star Trek. the closest I think it ever came to a Black Mirror plot was "Hard Time"
>>215930344If people in 2010 knew how AI would be used in 2025, they'd ban it from even being invented.

Sulu is not a main character. don't @ me.
>>215931611While TOS does focus more on the Kirk-Spock-Bones trio, I can see why people want to include the rest of the notable TOS cast even if they aren't exactly on the same level.
>>215928571The only main characters from TOS are Kirk, Spock, and McCoy and that's a real horrible choice but I'd have to say>TOS: McCoy>TNG: Troi>DS9: Dax (how could anyone pick anything else?)>VOY: Torres >ENT: T'pol (only Archer, Trip, and T'pol count, like TOS)
>>215931695Malcom is a main character and also the best one so fuck you buddy
>>215931717I like Mal too though and I think it's retarded ENT stopped focusing on its ancillary crewmen and became the Archer/Trip/T'Pol show.
>>215931748idk what you're talking about because Malcom vs the MACOs was like one of the only plotlines I was remotely interested in in the show at one point
>>215931794If you don't understand what I'm talking about you need to watch more s3 TNG - VOY Trek and see how ensemble casts were normally handled during that period. Each character would get focus episodes, multiple episodes per seasons for each character quite often. Compare that to ENT where Travis gets one episode and like two b-plots the entire series. Even Mal who gets the most focus outside of the 3 doesn't get anything near as much as other ensemble cast members of previous Berman Treks.
>>215930344Absolutely demonic
>>215931862well ok you're right. Malcom got more than most. Hoshi and Freighterman get N O T H I N G
>>215931883Yeah, all I can remember about Hoshi is that one weird episode where that psychic alien tries to rape her, kek

>>215932063If TOS wasn't the Kirk show we would have had multiple episodes each season of McCoy saving people while away from the crew. He deserved his own Ensigns of Command type episodes.

>>215933455It always stuck me as odd when his hair was in disarray. Like he can’t mimic a natural face but a head full of individual hairs is no problem? Doubt

>>215933455It didn't really make sense that he never figured out how to look properly human. Any rando changeling can do it perfectly and he lived with humanoids all his life.
>>215933492Oh no. I broke the rules. So sue me. Lol.
>>215933488he can mimic a natural face he just doesn't bother. also the hair in disarray thing was just something Rene did without asking anyone and they kept it in in Crossfire. so I guess after that they decided his hair moving in a natural way is fine to show since the precedent was set. even if there's no explanation

>>215933579>After this he goes from hard-boiled detective to whiny simpTo be fair, if you spend your entire life trying to chase a small time CI, you're a failure as a cop. At that point you might as well quit detecting and start simping.

>>215933415Kira has a number of "we was victims" moments that are whiny and weak. Reminds me of certain minority groups irl who make that a part of their individual and cultural identity. I loathe any victimhood shit, especially if its coming from a character like hers who was supposed to be this tough resistance fighter.Hoshi I dont like just because the translator being part of the main crew feels out of place in some way. Its kind of like a Counselor Troi role shoehorned into the crew. Her job is just fiddling with some translation gadget, and she doesnt bring anything else to table other than being claustrophobic and easily spooked. Maybe wrong in not liking her, but Im open to any anon's argument as to why she's of value.
>>215933488he was human in that episode
>>215933620>one episode where he kills 2000 people for Kirahow quickly kira forgot about that lol
>>215934114Kira gives him all kinds of passes it's why I love her as a character she's so real
>>215933988its bullshit but she can learn how to speak alien languages in minutes
What do you think is the most KINO episode of every Trek show you've watched?>TOSCity on the Edge of Forever (yeah yeah I know)>TASOne of Our Planets is Missing>TNGMeasure of a Man>DS9In the Pale Moonlight>VOYLatent Image>ENTCarbon Creek (it's just fun)>DISHaven't seen>PICHaven't seen>LDThe Inner Fight/Old Friends New Planets>PROTime Amok>SNWA Quality of Mercy (honestly I had to look up the series with descriptions to figure out which was best, SNW is really bland)
>when the pah wraith was inside me >I could feel its hatred Why wasn't Jake being a corporeal rape victim ever revisited
>>215934176ENT doesnt really care about the language thing. They make communicating an issue when Hoshi is around, but there's so many times where the show just says 'fuck it' and alien races speak english- the suliban speak it amongst each other, the 1st contact 3 vulcans that crash on earth speak english, the terrorist guy on the desert planet where archer and trip get stranded... there's a lot
>>215934254based TAS enjoyerBest TAS episode for me was the final one
>>215934281Remember Kira got orb-roofied by Bareil
>>215934282where are universal translators stored, com badges, right? I was watching Resistance (Voyager S2E12) the other day where Janeway loses her com badge whilst on an alien planet and she can still communicate with the aliens completely fine.
>>215934282>the 1st contact 3 vulcans that crash on earth speak englishThat one I can forgive since the Vulcans had been watching Earth for over a century at that point.
>>215934313TAS is unironically really comfy. I wish LD were more like it, though in fairness in the later seasons it kinda did become "just Trek but lighthearted"
>>215934353>where are universal translators storedaccording to DS9, in the ear
>>215934353The DS9 episode Little Green Men shows that the universal translator is some kind of ear or head implant.
>>215933510Not to mention that he should've gained the affinity from linking with the other changelings who can do it.
>>215934397>>215934414Isn't that just a Ferengi thing though? They've got a lot of room
>>215934445no? it only makes sense for it to be an implant since it works without any combadge or tricorder or anything. otherwise it's literally magic
>>215934414Wouldn’t that fuck with Geordi’s VISOR though? You couldn’t put anything near that thing without it glitching.
one autisitc thing that pisses me off but nobody else is how aliens in the Gamma and Delta quadrants are instantaneously accepted by the universal translator. They did a bit of a struggle in the episode "Sanctuary" where the translators only began working a third of the way through the episode, but Janeway and the gang understood Neelix, Kes, the Ocampa, the Kazon, the Vidiians immediately. Also hate how they don't look "more" alien given they're further away. The further from two places on Earth, the more different the languages become (putting aside colonisation and stuff), as well as how different the people look - should aliens not be the same?I remember seeing Tosk in Captive Pursuit and thinking I was in for some kino looking freaks. But Dominion aside (who are 100% kino), Gamma quadrant is full of human looking fucks.
>Alpha QuadrantTOS, TAS, ENT, half of DS9, small bit of VOY>Gamma QuadrantHalf of DS9>Delta QuadrantMajority of VOY>Beta QuadrantSulu exploring gaseous anomalies in Star Trek 6 for 5 minutesbetabros...
>>215934578A lot of TOS and TNG are in the beta quadrant though. They just kind of combine the alpha and beta quadrants and call it the "alpha quadrant," best as I can tell from any map

>>215934578the Klingon and Romulan empires are both in the Beta quadrant
>>215934743makes no sense because how can you jump from between those two with no effort whatsoever, but Alpha - Gamma/Delta requires a womrhole or caretaker to get you there.Surely the distance between quadrants should be equal.
>>215934528They tried to handwave this away by saying hundreds of species all share a common ancestor. One of Picard's archeology shenanigans episodes.
>>215934863why do both talk about protecting the Alpha Quadrant throughout DS9 then?Since when have the Romulans been so altruistic?
>>215934871Agreed but that's how it is for whatever reason. Star Trek maps don't make a lot of sense.
>>215934823>You should have it generate a Kid Charlemagne-esque Larry Carlton style solo in one of these.I'll do that for my next slopera entitled star trek sex with shran
>Ezri shoots someone with a prototype gun that teleports bullets>everyone acts as if literally nothing happened, no one brings it up
>yeah....HI we're the Dominon. We're not your friend. We're just a pissed off sovereign nation
it really is something how the minefield was the lynchpin in everything because it took them like what? over a year or something to take it down? and when they finally did it was literally at the very last possible moment. if it had been gone in the first couple months of them taking the station the Dominion would have easily assraped the entire quadrant.
>Excuse me Captain, here's tomorrow's duty roster for your approval.kino moment

>>215934871Earth isn't the centre of the coordinate system, the centre of the galaxy is. Earth is located near the border between the Alpha and Beta quadrants. The Gamma and Delta quadrants are on the other side of the galaxy.for them.
I love Tim Russ brosEverytime I read about a Tuvok-centred episode he made several suggestions to the script because he's an autismo nerd like us and it radically improves the story and/or evades any contradictions with earlier Trek shows. Random example being Meld where the OG idea was Tuvok went crazy for melding with a human psycho but he insisted it be a Betazoid as Tuvok (& Spock) has melded with other humans in the past no problem, the empathic abilities of a Betazoid fucking up the Vulcan's emotional suppression makes perfect sense. This is why you have to hire autists in front of the camera as well as behind it.
>>215936357Leonard Nimoy was the same way about Spock I wonder if it's a coincidence these kinds of people wind up playing Vulcans. whatever the cause, it's what you call, kino
>>215935692so theoretically there are parts of the Alpha Quadrant that are further away than the Borg, the Kazon, the Dominion? Why hasn't any Trek show ever gone there? Furthermore need I remind you that in TOS Kirk and the gang leaves the entire galaxy THREE times.>Once in the (production) pilot - Where No Man Has Gone Before.>Once in By Any Other Name - where robots from Andromeda attempt to kidnap the Enterprise for the 300 year journey back to Andromeda. >Is There In Truth No Beauty - (the 2nd Pulaski episode where she plays a villain) where sabotage throws the Enterprise outside of the galaxy at a relatively tame Warp 9.5.
>>215936357the guy who played the fucked up betazoid is insanely good
>>215936437oh yeah the vulcan salute thing was him a lot of Vulcan shit we take for granted is pure Nimoyand a lot of Klingon language shit is from Scotty as far as I recall
Tim Russ played a Klingon on DS9 and he was easily the best part of that shitty Dax episode
>>215936487he's in One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest (like Kai Winn) playing Billy the young little pyschoAlso Saruman's weird servant creature in LOTR Very versatile nigga
>>215936523barely recognised him desuI condone it when you can't tell but when they recycle actors and you can so tell I don't get it In S2E2 of Voyager (Initiations) Nog plays a fucking Kazon. He even still looks semi-Ferengi somehow. I also hated when Martok played a Changeling in Chimera. I could tell every scene it was him and it distracted me from what is an otherwise pretty solid episode. Michael Dorn could easily play a human (well could have before Far Beyond the Stars) and I'd absolutely be none the wiser.
>And as you can see here, this is the timeline where the cornucopia is still on the fruit of the loom logo >Yes, they changed that timeline because kanye became 2nd Hitler and killed over 12 million jews

>>215932831the trouble seems to be that the things they're creative about now fucking suck>what if a single supernova exploded all of the romulan empire?>what if starfleet had a ship that could instantly teleport to anywhere in space by using literal magical mushrooms?>what if the crew acted like current-day adult invalids?>what if [current day political thing] but without any nuance?
>>215933344Takei was likely just mad because Shatner rebuffed his sexual advances.
>>215933843The episode you are thinking of is "His Way" from Season 6. In it, lounge singer Vic Fontaine meddles in Odo's love life to push him and Major Kira together.

>>215937311i read your post in his voice
>>215936477It's not surprising that TOS breaks these rules, none of this stuff was established until TNG. In TOS, "quadrant" was never defined, but seemed to imply something akin to "the local neighbourhood"; their scientific adviser even suggested they use a different word as quadrant literally just means "a quarter" and they just ignored him. Later Treks sometimes play fast and loose with the finer points of these rules, but it's not like they just throw out the rulebook, the whole premise of VOY becomes moot if there's too much flexibility in their cartography.
>>215934004That’s a good point anon, noted. I’m only on s2 of my current rewatch and it’s probably been a decade since the last. There’s kino a comin’

>>215936664>he'd be only 33 in First Contact and he definitely looked older.surviving an irradiated earth while smoking and drinking will do that to you
>>215937362It sort of makes sense. If you’re going to arbitrarily split up the galaxy up, why not into quadrants? Alpha quad is alpha because earth is in it and it’s an earth show so the numbering starts there
>>215937516have any other quadrants ever taken exception to being called anything other than the alpha quadrant I wonder? It'd be weird for them to self identify as Beta/Gamma/Delta.
>>215937434This is an aberration!
>>215936609That Laas guy from Chimera episode- would Odo have infected him with the changeling AIDS when they linked? Odo was the unwitting superspreader. Unless my timeline is fucked up, that Laas guy wouldve died from it because he made contact with Odo then went off into the galaxy alone. When the cure was discovered Odo and the other changelings were saved, but Laas wouldve just gotten sick and died because he had no relationship with The Link and was off on his own.
>>215937712I assume the universal translator takes care of that. Obviously the Glorious Cardassian Union takes centre stage in their language, just like Romulans, and Klingons, Kazon, etc. Same thing happens in earth languages
>>215938058>That Laas guy from Chimera episode- would Odo have infected him with the changeling AIDS when they linkedIf Ira Steven Behr had any integrity he would have thought that Laas would be the proximal cause of the Nog-killing maguffin that kicks off the season arc. I'm pretty sure he hangs around here because if you're Ira Steven Behr, you'd crave reading about your favorite subject, what people think of the works of Ira Steven Behr. But not a lot of places talk about Ira Steven Behr continually. Whereas as the longest running continuous general on /tv/, we always have some opinion on Ira Steven Behr. Which means if you need to get your fix on reading about Ira Steven Behr, you go to /trek/ to read about Ira Steven Behr. Which logically means Ira Steven Behr lurks here while idling for inspiration. We know you're here, Ira Steven Behr. I'll type your name again if you confirm or deny my supposition above. Thanks, Ira.

i probably wouldn't hate ai so much if it didn't steal entry-level jobs from the workforce, make water and power more expensive in the long run due to how much it consumes, creative artificial scarcity in the realm of computer parts, end up raising prices for everything even though its usage was supposed to make things cheaper, etc.wait a minute, maybe it's actually inherently bad in 99% of use cases
