Every season they build on the lore and come up with interesting plot points, and then fuck them away for some generic "epic" shit that betrays the writing. The scientists knew in the first season that fire is effective against anything from the Upside Down, so why did they just have two dicks with flamethrowers? Why didn't every soldier have one? Why didn't they have some sort of failsafe firebomb trap on the gate? This show is just the perfect example of slop writing and it pisses me off they make good atmosphere/plot like 10% of the time.

And it's relevant for like half of the first episode and won't be used until an asspull in Episode 8 where they find out Will can amplify his powers through a radio antenna, or something. Just finished episode 4. Holy shit, I think it’s excellent. It’s superbly well directed and shot. There’s a few bad lines of dialogue each episode but good fucking lord it is extremely high quality across the board. Better than S1 even.
