The house may be lies, but the foundation has merit. You can get more people to purchase your brand if they are familiar with it. Saturate your product across everything and people will buy it out of familiarity.

this, companies are tired of all this downtime of people not watching ads
if the actual content could disappear that would be great, but this is the next best thing
>>
Well, the alternative is platforms using eye tracking technology to pause the ads if you don't look at them Black Mirror style.
>>
>>216467153
I don't watch goyslop to begin with so I don't care
>>
I can't wait for more stuff like this. I think it solves a lot of problems. People skip ads? AI can integrate them seamlessly into the narrative. Even better, the questions of representation and diversity are fixed! Before you start watching a show, you can fill out a brief questionnaire about your political views (or really we can just scrape it from your social media and browsing history) and AI will make the show more or less diverse based on your Racial Preferences. Hey, wouldn't it be cool if Spiderman takes off his mask and he's YOU underneath? Just upload more pictures of your face and we can have the ultimate representation: A MIRROR! It's a bright future for entertainment.
>>
>>216467516
why not stream the ads directly on the inside of our eyelids so we can get a quick ad every time we blink
>>
>>216467209
Ad companies have quantified and put a dollar value on how much money some one from a viewer group is worth, and st this point, specific people. They try and fill your attention span with as many ads as possible.

>>
>>216467913
Yes, you have to keep explaining bullshit concepts endlessly because every time they come up someone will call bullshit.
>>
>>216467627
The first thing marketers market is the necessity of marketing. The second thing is themselves.
>>
>>216467627
It's not for audience members, its being advertised to streaming companies. Once people showed they were willing to pay for Netflix with Ads, it was over
>>
>>216467780
You are not going to immediately buy them, but the next time you need headphones you are going to consider Beats.
>>
>>216468048
exactly this. One of the big reasons these brands advertise heavily is so that you see them. Coca Cola doesn't need to remind people they exist, but they do want to be the thing you think of when you think of "soda"
>>
It's time for the United States government to do something about the concept of advertising. It's clearly reaching a point of immorality and it needs to be curtailed for the mental and cultural health of the country.
>>
>>216468095
Unfortunately the government are the ones doing this.
#PokemonGOtothepolls
>>
Why cant I just let advertisers know I'm an incel so I can opt out of ads? I never buy anything other than basic shit like food in my local shop and I buy the same shit every time. I never buy anything else so its pointless advertising to me.
>>
>>216468048
No, I'm not shill
>>
This is more proof we need to back everything up. AI will allow for subtle video manipulation.

1. They're gonna insert random product placement into old shows.
2. Some people will want to correct how abhorrant old media is, by making it more politically correct. Change race of characters, make people trans, etc.

This sounds paranoid, but once media 100% becomes "server side" they hold total control of everything.
>>
>>216468095
The fact you even posit that as a possibility shows a complete misunderstanding of the American economy
>>
>>216468158
>I'm super smart and I don't fall for nuthin!
You knew they were Beats headphones just by looking at them. The marketers have won.
>>
>>216468048
No, i'm not. I'm going to go to head-fi and buy whatever has the best balance of price to quality ratio.
>>
>>216467232
What if we still had commercial breaks, but the show was a commercial, too?
>>
>>216468123
You're not thinking like a parasitical advertising exec. What you're describing is a potential consumer who has yet to start pissing away his disposable income on some dumb bullshit. Now they only have to figure out what kind of dumb bullshit to sell you.
>>
>>216467209

>>
>>216468095
all it takes is for one rightsholder to cry foul about shit being digitally inserted into their media.
>>
>>216467638
If that would end the ad in under 5 seconds, I’d be fine with it.
Of course, then they’d all start making ads where you can’t tell what the product is for 45 seconds, because they seem to think advertising only works if you are annoyed by how much of your time it’s wasting.
Throw on two seconds of a burger sizzling, then an image with the logo and a plate of appetizing food. Boom, I remember that McDonald’s exists. That’s all you need.
>>
>>216467153

why do people need advertising to buy something

why not preferring an AI system that reviews products without biases, saying which ones are objetivelly build well, good materials, quality, software, checking different sources for durability and whatever function it serves

Nope. Never worked for me. You know what counters this long game? Growing up poor. You weight every purchase, and the habit won't go away. You don't need to have grown up poor, you just need to not be retarded.
There's no point in buying multiple headphones to get the one you want instead of doing like 15 minutes of research.

I wanted headphones with active noise cancelling, so I got Sony XM4's a few years ago.
My next purchase is probably a replacement battery, or idk some Bose headphones if the ANC improves.

>>

>Is this a good thing?
It's an inevitability. Without guardrails and legislation to protect consumers, this is quite tame actually. When they're using ai to subtly insert propaganda related to real current events, that's when shit is actually getting wild.
Unfortunately, billionaires have spent the last 100 years convincing burgers that anything other than die-hard pro-corporation capitalism is actually communism. So now laws get passed to curb shit like this.
>>
>>216467209
It's a proof of concept. Brand awareness is worth a lot of money. But also, this is just the start. Expect things like shirt logos and watches to change, dialogue to be slightly edited etc etc
eg.

This however feels extremely Indian and gross. It's cheap looking, unnatural and has serious jeet vibes. Disgusting subhumans should not have access to technology whatsoever.

you're thinking in one dimension
>see product, buy product
that's not all it is. Let's say, you want to buy something you have no experience with. Sure, as a turbosperg you'll probably do in depth research into the product, say, drills, and create a spreadsheet to find the one best suited to the jobs you have in mind.
A normal person doesn't do that, a normal person, maybe asks around. Maybe the first thing that comes to peoples mind, is the one they've seen advertised in the store. Maybe they recommend the one they use themselves and maybe they have that one, because every time they go to a hardware story, they end up buying the one with highest presence in the store.
And over time, as more people are acquainted with your product, both people who are experts in the field and novices will create a knock on effect, that means you're more likely, statistically, to end up buying a drill that has 25 years of market presence and visibility, compared to the slightly less expensive off brand version.

A lot (most) of advertising, especially for cars, is used more to cement an image of a brand, not so much just to get people to outright buy them

An ad for a Jeep showing it offroading isn't very likely to make you want to buy a Jeep, but it will make you think a Jeep would be a good option if you wanted to go offroading and be seen as an adventurous person
>>
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. >I refuse to believe someone would buy a headset just because Joey puts it on for a second. Advertising has to be built on a house of lies
There are different types of “advertising”.
Long format advertising like infomercials showing Ron Popeil or Billy Mays, spends a long amount of time trying to show all the potential merits of a product, some shorter ads try to do the same thing, just in 30 seconds or less.
Other advertising is just about reminding consumers the brand exists, and while quickly associating the brand with something the customer may like, or someone the customer may respect.
Consumers who don’t gave a lot of time to research products, or to test different brands, may them buy that product, rather than spending time trying to figure out which product they may actually prefer.
A good example is the Coke placement in the Suits episode.
Yes, it sort of looks like crap, and is ridiculous, but someone hanging out at home or with friends ordering takeout might need to quickly ad some soda to an order, and they or their friends may say “Coke” simply because they just saw it in the ad.
The same when grabbing a brick of soda cans at a store, etc.
The Beats headphones are similar in that someone with little audio knowledge may want “decent” headphones, and will purchase a pair if they have enough spare income due to “perceived quality” and seeing the headphones in the Friends ad.
Porter Cable and Delta were quality power tools, but seeing Norm Abram using the tools in his woodworking specials certainly helped sell tools, especially to individuals with little tool experience.

The people who push this shit don't understand or enjoy anything. At most they enjoy seeing a celebrity on a screen because they know said celebrity is popular and has high status.
