just came back from my 3rd viewing - this time Dolby Cinema instead of the usual IMAX. dolby cinema might be my new favorite way of watching 3D movies. the image has amazing contrast and black levels and the 3D is super sharp. the movie looked amazing.

It has a massive storm on it like the red spot on Jupiter that looks like a gigantic purple eye. They could have said that magnetic storms get intensify when the eye looks down on them and had it slowly creeping across the planet's surface in the background throughout the movie. So, just finished rewatching the Extended Cut of A1 in great quality on a big monitor. I was watching it in complete darkness, trying to make the whole experiece as immersive as possible and tried to catch every detail. Even ended up rewinding a couple of times. A few points I wanted to make while the memory is still fresh:1) Zoe as Neytiri is the heart of soul of the first movie.2) Jake didn't betray the humanity because there was nothing left to betray. Earth is a cyberpunk shithole. Jake's brother, Tommy was even denied a proper burial, he was literally cremated in a cardboard box Cyberpunk Edgerunners style.3) Jake is truly a moron, like a baby taking his first steps. When meeting Neytiri for the first time, he's swinging his torch like an idiot, not noticing that he's blocking the natural bioluminescent lights of the plants that would've allowed him to actually see at night. When he follows Neytiri to the Hometree a couple of moments later, you can hear his heavy boots landing flat-footed, creating a lot of noise, while Neyney is running on her toes almost silently, like a cat. When he gets captured by Tsu'tey and they run to the Hometree, he gets exausted because his cardio sucks at that point in the story.4) Those "horses" the Na'vi ride make the same sounds as the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park5) Avatars are noticeably more muscular than true Na'vi, especially in their arms, shoulder and thigh areas. No wonder so many Na'vi women want Avatar dicks.6) Norm is a gangsta. He gets at least one kill in the final batte wearing warpaing and shit and even when his avatar gets injured he immediately grabs a gun and goes back into the fight in his human formP.S. Favorite scene: When Neytiri tells Jake that he now can choose a woman and lists him the options. Smiles when he says that he doesn't want Ninat and gets worried when he says that Beyral is a good hunter. Super cute. Best New Year in a while bros. Brb, gotta watch TWOW now.
