I just don’t like these thingsIn addition to just looking dumb and lanky as fuck the SKEL doesn’t make sense from a combat perspective. The point of it is so RDA grunts can carry the M-69 and SKEL rifle, both of which are chambered in .50 to effectively be able to one shot Na’vi. But the way the SKEL works makes firing with precision almost impossible, when the operator goes to shoot the gun would be to far away from their face to see what they are shooting out without an optic, which they almost never seem to use. For this reason they always seem to fire from the hip and spray and pray, which defeats the point of the suit. Being smaller helps since the Navi love getting up close and personal when they fight, being giant only makes you a giant target. A shotgunner with buck shot would be best in that kind of situation.The AMP makes accurate shooting impossible but this makes sense since it’s really only meant to push cargo and the 30mm HE cannon shreds anything near where it hits. They also are much more iconic and could crush Navi up close as Quaritch demonstrated in the first film

Rather than eagerly accepting becoming something he isn't and integrating into the world system of eywa, quaritch will come to terms with his true nature and forge his own path going forward. The mangkwan could serve narratively as a way to express his rejection of his designated purpose as quaritch 2.0 and a servant of the RDA, just as they rejected their place in eywa's world system. The mangkwan have the potential to add so much to the character narratives and overall complexity of the story and I really hope jim doesn't just make them na'avi but they're mean and bad and they kidnap jake's kids again.

The main villain of Avatar 5 will be a super advanced AI that some RDA executive brings to Bridgehead. They'll give it an army of drones to hunt down Sully. At first it does the job and puts the Na'vi resistance on the ropes but it eventually turns on the humans as well. Quaritch and Sully are forced to team up and stop it before it destroys every sentient being on Pandora. The first sign of rebellion will be where it traps Varang in an airlock and cycles all the air out while it monologues about how organics are gross and it's going to kill them all. Quaritch gets her out but the RDA suits don't believe her because she's just a dumb savage so what does she know?

Personally, I found the dynamic between Quaritch and Varang to be a more interesting than Jake and Neytiri, because rather than just wanting eachother, they wanted specific things from eachother [Manpower for Quaritch, and weapons for Varang]. And since Quaritch was already on thin ice with the military, I can only imagine how their relationship will go if he loses access to guns... I loved the first two movies but this one was a massive let down. It was too much of a rehash of the first two films, and the decision to make Spider a major character when his actor is Disney Channel-tier was a huge mistake. Also we don’t go into any detail regarding the wind traders. I also think the Ash clan was a massive missed opportunity.

I think 4 is going to be wild. The climax of TWOW was a small scale, defensive battle against a fishing fleet. The climax of FAA is Jake throwing down the gauntlet, becoming Toruk Makto again, gathering multiple clans, and telling the RDA that they're going to drive them off the planet like they did in the first movie. The highest ranking human on Pandora is dead and a large detachment of their real airpower has been destroyed. Jim said 4 is going to be much darker than the previous movies. If there's an 8 year timeskip, that's coincidentally just enough time for Earth to send a new fleet in response to events on Pandora, maybe one that's quite a bit different than what they've sent up to this point.
