star trek sex with shran
I finished my Enterprise rewatch. I skipped the xindi arc because I already watched that again. Season 4 had much shittier writing than I remembered. It started to look like a CW show or something. Overall it was a good ride and I didn't find myself annoyed with the performances as much as I was the first time around. Shran needs a spin off show.

>>217116193Season 4 started to look like a CW show because it had a much lower budget than ever.I still do wonder what Season 5 would've looked like when the SciFi channel offered to pick it up.

>>217116208I never understood why this episode gets people so bent out of shape. >Oh no its racist! As far as I can remember they weren't humans, they were aliens, with their own culture that was a cargo-cult from a shipping container full of aladdin merch landing on their planet. If the episode had just been a bunch of white people, or asians, or arabs no one would think twice about it.
>>217116325>Oh no its racist!Yes, it's racist.
>>217116325it's racist to not have black people, and it's racist to portray black people in a negative light.
>>217116466Not even really a negative light, it was just like any other planet-of-the-week where the crew needs something and they have to navigate the cultural differences. And by respecting those differences but using a loophole they ultimately reset the balance and the injured party is made whole.

>>217116915I think its just people jumping on the bandwagon of hating season 1 blindly. I've always had a soft spot for the first season. The show definitely improves, but they were still trying a lot of things in that first season that don't make it out alive. Like the holographic displays (probably too expensive to do). Or Picard's tendency to be working on little puzzles, like fermat's last theorum, or trying to figure out some impossible orbit. Most importantly, I fucking love the synth score from the first couple of seasons.

>>217117618Chakotay starts out as very important but the Maquis angle is dropped in episode 2 which absolutely guts his character and leaves him as a glib facsimile of a nativeKim, on the other hand, is a decently conceptualized story. Having a fresh-out-of-the-academy, first posting Ensign on your lost in space ship should present a lot of story opportunities. He should be the most relatable character for the audience, as what is new to them is new to each more or less and yet they didn't really deliver on those stories (until later on -- the Kobali story, Timeless, etc, are all pretty good).I think they were planning to kill him off for so long that they neglected him and then when they decided NOT to kill him off, they could only do so much with the episodes remaining.

>>217117476>Should I be more doom and gloom about how AI's going, or how old every 'member this that was used in this generated shot is, subtly saying how AI or not, movies have been terrible for a while and will remain terrible? The problem is that you can do a lot of good prototyping with AI, but you have to really keep a tight leash on your generation pool and be a little Mendel all the time. I had this experience with the slopera and often times had to roll back 20 or so iterations and start from scratch because AI was losing the plot and fixating on the wrong mutation set. On launch day Suno advertised a new feature that basically promised to do what I was manually curating but ... it isn't as good as what I was doing by a long shot, because it's building on a 30 second fragment and not averaging over a constantly curated training pool. If you put in the effort–and it is effort–you can have a nice(ish) bonsai garden. If you use their easy buttons you can have a chia pet. If AI is actually tailored to be a rapid prototyping tool for creatives AND NO MORE, you can get a lot done. If it's pushed to the masses as a meme generator/porn generator/blingee dot com that destroys the planet, then it will have been completely wasted. Guess where it's being pushed..>>217117816I stan aeropress and hario siphon. I dismiss your pleb ways.

First time watching ds9, I just saw the tribunal, and it made little sense. I'm willing to overlook everyone needing the cardassian justice system explained to them, even if they have participated before, to be able to explain it to the viewer, but it still shouldn't have happened. Based on tng and what ive seen of ds9 so far I feel like the federation would immediately start sending ships and gunboat diplomacy in the dmz demanding obriens return, regardless of whether they knew he was criminal or not. I dont remember specifically but I feel like there has been some establishment of federation extraterritoriality before. The cardassian lawyer and judge were fun though, but that seems to be the case so far for all cardassians in episodes, they are just the most entertaining.
