Just like fantasy and science of old Avatars are filled with romance of reaching distant stars, falling in love with beautiful alien chick, becoming the coolest guy around and saving the new world. At the same time while having villains and dark stories of violence, just like on those old school books and movies, Avatar is filled with hope and optimism. Heroes defeat villains and carry on. Avatars are absolutely the best adaptations of old school space opera since SW 1-6.
