the kazon really knows how to treat woman, its refreshing to see that not all quadrants are pussy-whipped.
>>217253992Mostly episodic with a small overarching plot that, over the course of the season, snowballs into a season ender 2-parter. I'd like to see a decent amount of action, actually I'd quite like a Maquis 2.0 situation, but even bigger in scope. Mirror Terran agent provocateurs create a human-first splinter group that begin taking violent action and attempting to break parts of the federation off, at least for a couple seasons. Could have a really sick cap-off final encounter where the captain and his mirror counterpart battle ship against ship, eventually shattering the mirror ship's saucer ala pic related.

>>217268934>it's the most relevant iteration to dateAh, so everything about it is just modern politics and other modern shit with a thin veneer of Star Trek because the writers couldn't make a successful pitch without setting it within an existing IP.

I know there are some fans who aren't happy with the new Star Trek, but personally, I think it's fantastic. The characters are complex and interesting, the visuals are stunning, and the stories are engaging. Plus, the representation in the show is amazing - it's great to see a diverse cast that reflects the real world. And as someone who grew up watching Star Trek, it's exciting to see the franchise continue to evolve and expand. I can't wait to see what they come up with next!
>>217270301And it's a lot of Fun!

>>217270301Furthermore, the production values are top-notch, with stunning visual effects, intricate world-building, and exciting action sequences that capture the essence of what makes Star Trek so special. The writing is also compelling, with intricate plotlines and nuanced character development that challenges viewers to think deeply about the moral and ethical implications of space exploration.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is a breath of fresh air for the franchise, successfully blending the grand optimism of classic Trek with the emotional depth of a modern coming-of-age story. Set in the 32nd century following the reopening of the Academy, the series captures the "prodigious start" of a new generation tasked with rebuilding a fractured galaxy.
>>217270301I like how they embrace the silliness of Star Trek. Star Trek has always been silly and ridiculous!
>>217264674How about if I meet you halfway? Before you talk of becoming the Star Trek showrunner again, how about writing a pilot script for each of these shows? You can post them on AO3; that site allows enough customization to display screenplays properly. Then we can evaluate whether you actually have the chops, or are just a blowhard high on his own farts.

>>217271026So what's the source of the demotivational crap on the left in that image? And why do you consider it Scripture?
You Fucking Cocksuckers won't even give this Star Fleet Academy show a Fucking chance! We demand that you watch it and make it Fucking successful! Are you trying to kill off our Star Trek franchise and IP!? If this show Fucking fails, we may not get another one! SNW has already finished wrapping so this has to carry forward the franchise! And quit Fucking calling it CDW in space you Assholes!
How DO you keep an old sci-fi show culturally relevant?
>>217271118>If this show Fucking fails, we may not get another one!Temporal death is better than butchering of lore and worldbuilding.
>>217271118This is obviously a false-flag post, an attempt by an oldtrek geezer to sound like a nuTrek fan. It won't work. If you have to traffic in lies to support your position, then maybe your position isn't defensible.
>>217271189Trek's so-called "lore" and "worldbuilding" is highly inconsistent. The episodes regularly take liberties with it for short-term convenience. And you know this. Why try to treat Star Trek as some sort of infallible religious faith?
>>217271155You have to accept that something like Star Trek will never be as relevant as it was during the peak of TNG. These shows will never get 10 million viewers like TNG did. The best thing to do is lean into the niche of white male nerds who went out of their way to support the franchise. Find ways to market the old shows to younger fans if you can't match their quality with brand new productions. TNG and DS9 are timeless so it's not like younger fans wouldn't be able to connect with them.
>>217271286It seems like Picard is ashamed of TNG, nobody wants to acknowledge or pay any of the old writers who worked on these old shows, but they also want to make money from the memberberry shit.
>>217271247My main beef is destruction of Romulus and ruining the Borg.>>217271286Trek could easily have Spider-Man audience if it managed to lean into Nerd Power Fantasy that is also relatable while being loyal to the original ideals.people who made Spiderman are fucking smart
>>217271286>lean into the niche of white male nerds who went out of their way to support the franchiseThat's exactly what they SHOULDN'T do, and to their credit, they're not. That fanbase is not only diminished, and diminishing more every day, but it's toxic (a fact cast into sharp relief in this general). They should do what they're doing now, which is also what they did back in 1966—try to appeal to as many potential fans as possible.>TNG and DS9 are timelessThen why were they dumped onto an "over the air" channel with a median viewer age of 62?
