Why not literally just build Hogwarts as a theme park
>>217404320Disneyworld already exists.

It would be ridiculously expensive, even with the earnings potential. Also, Hogwarts was an amalgamation of a real location and sound stages. It doesn’t all fit into what you see on the outside. If you were imagining a combined hotel and attraction, see Disney’s Starliner disaster.
>>217404459Hogwarts Legacy the video game fixed the amalgamation problem and made the castle a complete functional structure that feels like the movies while making sense. Could "easily" make that in real lifeAlso, the Starliner does not write off hotel+attraction destinations. It had numerous problems. Probably correct that it's way too expensive. Especially if they wanted to make it any good. If it's Universal Studios in charge forget about it.
>>217404320Harry Potter World exists in London you dope
>>217404320I think they did
>>217404320it does. Warner Brothers have made it. you should go out more
agree with others. pretty sure there was some sort of theme park type of thing. maybe still is
>>217404656Yeah I remember they did this gay thing where one of the rides gets off into Olivander's and they would mug anyone with small kids for $75 AA powered wands. This was pre-COVID so that was an insane amount of money to hit you up for out of the blue.
>>217404320why would you if you can put some harry potter themed stuff into an empty warehouse and make the same money from it
>>217404320because young kids don't give a shit about harry potter. that sit is 25 years old. only soilennials still care about harry potter, and they're all too broke to go on a theme park vacation.
>>217405371Yeah guess who's teaching English class. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has been the #1 selling SF title on Amazon pretty much continuously for 25 years.
>Why not literally just build Hogwarts as a theme park
>>217405452>Sorcerer
>>217404615Universal Japan
>>217404320>>217405595Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Orlando both already did.And Orlando has Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe with further Harry Potter expansions. This isn't even new lol
>>217405595>>217405708It is identical in both parks. Orlando was first. I've been to both didn't want to venture too far into the castle in Osaka because I was alone and I thought I might look like a pedophile.
>>217404588Anon, buildings in video games arent required to have any structural integrity, the castle as presented in the hogwarts legacy game would not be a stable structure.
>>217404320Some guy had the Neuschwanstein built during the American civil war and that's a fucking castle, something totally obsolete by then.It bankrupted the state, but now it's Germany's nr1 tourist attraction and it has made its money back a hundred times over.
>>217405452>Sorcerer's Stone
>>217405735>is identical in both parksJapan doesn't have Gringotts or Diagon Alley
>>217405750what are you even referring toalso we were talking about amalgamation not structural abilities
>>217404320Isn't that kind of what the Wizarding World parks are supposed to be?Honestly it's obviously massively scaled down regarding the castle, but diagon and knockturn alley felt to scale. And even though it's scaled down they did a really good job of making it feel immersive and kino, it blows galaxy's edge out of the water in those regards because they spent way more. I think the only major flaw is if they had built it faster back when HP was at it's height they could have printed money, but then it might not have been as high quality. I haven't gotten to see the ministry of magic yet.>>217405876This is a fair point. But to do it today would be far more expensive.
>>217405876The state being the kingdom of Bavaria, not Germany as a whole
>>217406801I mean't the Castle ride exclusively. Universal Orlando mogs Osaka at least in the Harry Potter area. Best part of Japan is they still have Jaws and their dino coaster is fucking insane (Universal is good) and they have a ton of hot Japanese women in cosplay. Also the shows are better
>>217407041Technically they are lands, not parks. Also, what is this about "scaled down?" People know the castle doesn't actually exist right? It's a scale model in a movie and sometimes computer animation. The lands use forced perspective to make it look bigger than it is.
>>217404320Why did they need a castle so big in the first place? Hogwarts is a small school. There are fewer than 100 student's in Harry's year. The entire school probably only has 500-700 students total and they have this giant fucking castle.
>>217407268Yes, lands then.Scaled down from their fictional size is what I meant, but yeah that's true. >forced perspectiveYes, or course they do. The castle still feels smaller and less "filled in" on the interior than actual (fictional) size though, as opposed to diagon alley/knocturn alley, the hogwarts express, hogsmeade to some extent, etc. It's a common problem with "castles" I suppose, the Disney ones all feel that way even though from far off they appear much bigger due to forced perspective.
>>217407357Wouldn't the population of pure bred wizards be continuously diluted by inter-marriage with muggles. I imagine there is a demographic crisis in Harry Potter World. I'm sure it used to be huge. Also inbreeding based birth defects
humanity doesn't have the ability to construct castles or cathedrals anymore
>>217407412Voldemort knew this
>>217407357The other rooms are for the army of elf slaves that cook, clean and maintain the castle
>>217407412>>217407357The only fan theory that's made sense to me is that Hogwarts has a low student population during Harry's time there because there weren't as many children being born during the first wizarding war.
>>217407236>they still have JawsDamn, I'm glad they didn't get rid of it.
>>217407526Wizards also tend to be long lived. What never made sense to me was what happens if you can’t attend or fail Hogwarts? Hagrid can but isnt allowed to do magic? But what about all the magic criminals? They passed their OWLs?And does every wizard basically work for the Ministry unless they have property? But even in that case would hold some office at the ministry anyway? My interpretation of the ministry isnt that it governs wizards but more that it is the wizarding world filling the role of keeping the magical world separate from muggles. And that begs questions about religion and pagan gods.In book one theres kind of an implication that magic is learning sigals, Enochian, mixing mundane herbs, learning astrology. Sort of like it’s a little more real, just secretly the weirdos who are really good at it have secret schools and alleysBut later it’s full on fantasy
