Lower Decks is more entertaining than

I think there's a fascinating debate to be had about whether Alex Kurtzman has managed to create something worse than the Star Wars prequels. Maybe more than once.>synthetics attacked Mars so hard that the atmosphere exploded
>>217482355Objectively yes.>all of the warp drives in the galaxy simultaneously exploded one day>this happened because a ship crash landed on a planet made entirely out of dilithium and it caused a fish alien to let out an autistic screech.
>>217482434Why some gay baby alien? Why not something that would actually have the power to cause an event like that, such as a Q or a Douwd? Sure, it's been done before, but it'd make sense, at least.
>One of the many spec scripts which were submitted to the series concerned a planet where everything about it, even its spaceships, was made of Velcro.
Which type of Velcro? The soft part or the “hook” part? Or a mix?
>>217482355Absolutely.The prequels were at least George Lucas. They were bad, a result of a loss of his editorial sense (and his wife's), but they were still his original ideas. Nu Trek is completely unrecognizable and is more like some generic slop with a Star Trek logo slapped on the side. It's an insult to Roddenberry's original concepts, not just a bad Roddenberry idea.
