I dunno I have a feeling that might just be completely different and maybe gurm just doesn't know how it will end. Jamie doesn't seem to even be in love with Cersei anymore in the books. The whole reason they "love" each other in the first place is that they're both narcissistic and they're practically genderswapped clones of each other so it's really just an extension of love for themselves. Jamie's whole arc is losing his narcissism from the adversity he faces whereas Cersei's just becomes even more malignant.

I also think they merged the idea of Cersei blowing up the sept of Baelor in the show with Dany accidentally setting off wildfire caches that are all over the city with her dragons when she attacks it.

It's got a few reddit-tier jokes. Otherwise it's pretty good. One odd thing I can't shake is that every episode so far genuinely feels like the screenwriters are aping the writing of a video game. I don't mean in quality, I mean in structure and how things occur. There's a lot of scenes and things that happen that make me go, "Ah, the classic moment from Western RPGs..." And frankly a lot of the second episode I couldn't shake was intentionally made to ape TW3 or Kingdom Come: Deliverance. There's a part where Dunk needs to get real armor for the tournament and I could quite literally hear the quest objective update noise from TW3 in my head at one point.

Honestly this is a flaw from a novella but there’s no reason Dunk couldn’t have just squired for another knight a few more years. Knights die on their squires all the time, it’s not hard to explain.

Who wouldn’t want a big hulking knight who already knows all the ropes and that you don’t really have to teach? He’d probably even end up serving someone richer who could pass down some armor and give him a better start in your life.

Instead, Dunk thinks it’s over for him unless he starts lying and pretending to be a knight, even though he still can’t tilt for shit.

Guardman arrests the prince for attacking the puppet lady.
He now has the convince all the other guards to go along with it or otherwise they swarm him and arrest him instead.
Lets say he does manage to convince all the guards to go along with it.
Now people go running off to Maekar saying the prince's guards have forcibly arrested his son.
Maekar is going to immediately call on every sword he can to confront the guards.
So now you're back in a loop. Once again you're heavily outnumbered and have to convince them to go along with your arrest or get swarmed.
And it doesn't stop until you're king of Westeros.

So unless John Guardman is ready to stake his claim for the iron throne his only realistic option is to let the prince be a corrupt asshole.
