There's like 6 different angles to every scene and the individual shots sometime last a fraction of a second or otherwise linger a long time. Is it because audiences now have short attention spans or what? i kinda wish this series had depicted itself a lot more romantic and less grotesque UNTIL this very episode. like it would have been cool to see the juxtaposition between what dunk thinks knighthood is like and the actual brutal reality of it in this episode. i think they did try a lot harder to make knighthood seem more romantic in this series specifically, with how serious dunk takes his vows and how he and egg engage in cottagecore stuff. but there was no real reason to add graphic shitting or graphic murder in the flashbacks, except for shock value for episodes that did not need it at all. i figured dunk was the person he was because despite his dismal upbringing, he wasnt really exposed to that much brutality or shitty people, and he had ser arlan to look up to. but idk im not a writer
