It's still way better overall than HOTD but I feel like this season peaked around episodes 2/3/4 and only got gradually worse after that. Episode 6 has got to be the weakest one so far. None of the major changes they've made was for the better. It was still a positive experience overall but whenever the show deviates from the novellas it becomes visibly worse, and it started deviating more and more the longer it aired. My excitement for future stories is a bit dulled now, the future does not feel as secure as it did a few weeks ago.

Some of the changes are just kind of… why? Why did they turn episode 5 into a gorefest for Duncan?
