The rebellion is totally stupid and doomed from the start when you actually try to analyse it outside of arguing about who's more charismatic or chadlike. The worst aspect is the Blackfyres had ZERO Great Houses declared for them and made any possible support impossible because he promised gibs to all the ambitious secondary houses that were supporting him. What kind of civil war doesn't have major players on the opposing side? Redgrass Field is the only known decisive engagement of the rebellion and the Blackfyres couldn't afford a single defeat. On the other hand the Targaryen legitimists if they had lost at Regrass doesn't suddenly remove Daeron from power or his superior support base. All that would happen is all the Great Houses would now fully raise their banners against Blackfyres in a wider war and most likely defeat his smaller support base in the end anyway. What was Daemon Blackfyres long term aims after taking power? Murder Daeron and all his sons/grandsons? Somehow remove Wardenships and Lord Paramountcy from extremely powerful established houses that all refused to support him and then give them to his supporters? Kick Dorne out the Seven Kingdoms and then fail at invading it again?The rebellion reeks of desperation and poor planning. Blackfyres were always fucked long term unless they managed to quickly wipe out all of Daeron II line and suddenly come to terms with all the Great Houses which seems unlikely.
