I want a slasher horror film where the killer only kills virgins

>>
>>218293437
Honestly I think the reviews were wrong and it's a decent entry if you liked 4. But you have to be paying attention to all the characters and everything because it's mostly obscure lore dumping.
>>
Not even on simp shit, but Emma Roberts was the best actress in the entire scream franchise as Jill in 4. BUT Scream fans are all hiveminded sheep who shit on her in discussions cause of rumors of boomer ass Wes Craven on his death bed saying she was a brat to work with. Which, maybe she was. A lot of actors are absolute pieces of shit, but that should be excused if the results are good. the audience doesn't see behind the scenes.
When Jill is waiting under the bed, look at her body language. Does she seem scared? When she taps her finger repeatedly, doesn’t it seem like she waiting for something? For the first two acts she had to play the character in such a way where it’s not suspect at first, but when you rewatch it it’s clear the character is putting on an act. The reveal in scream 4 is the best in the series if you go in blind.
>>
Also, Neve Campbell just got played hard by the jewish execs. They shut down her involvement for Scream 6 cause of her demands for more money. Then they needed her to save Scream 7 because they fired the Palestine supporter latinas. Neve Campbell got $5m for Scream 7. Well now Scream 7 has the best ever worldwide opening for a slasher, and second best domestic (Halloween 2018 is number one) at $97m. Bitch could have negotiated for way more.
>>
>>218293914
haven't heard that but doesn't surprise me. too be fair though, her character coming across as a brat works too.

They should just reboot Scream for the next movie

The films became stupid after the second one.
The first one was fun, making fun of slasher tropes while also using them. Second one did the same with slasher sequels.
But then the series just became a parody of itself, turning into a slasher series with no depth. The amount of times they go "I was related to one of the side-characters that had 5 seconds of screen time two movies ago - so I was always a part of the original shit!" is dumb.
>>
>>218296583
That's what makes 4 good compared to 3 and the rest.
>>
>>218296583
idk it jumped the shark plotwise after 2 so the best they can really do is a good parody. I was surprised how good the series was given the Saw levels of mass murder going on.

Holy Frankenkino.
This was like a gay shakespeare tragedy. so zoomers would like it, the male actors all look like they'd be on that clav guys livestream talking about mogging normies. The farmboy apparently was some kind of gay sex symbol. They all speak in different european accents, and he's like
>Ayo Frankie, whadya doin in dat basement?
Meanwhile Udo Kier is chewing scenery and puts in an all time death scene. I thought he was gonna quickly resurrect his sister and then make her fuck the monster with the farmboys head, I think that'd have been a more romantic ending.
Anyway apparently this was also shot for 3D and had some sparse but awesome gore effects. I think we need a new 3D era because it's the only way directors include this stuff.
>>
>>218294750
If they reboot Scream, it should at least look like a horror movie, what with the lighting and color tones.
>>
>>218295688
>On its release, the film was promoted with Andy Warhol's name. When asked about how he contributed to the film, Warhol responded that "I go to the parties," following up that "All of us at The Factory contribute ideas."

These are mad comfy, surprised that Jason wasn't milked even more
Only one reboot attempt 17 years ago? Jesus usally 80s shit is on its 3rd or 4th try
Also 6 > 5 > 2 > > 3 >1 >4(only one we didn't finish and fell asleep around the final girl runs around for 15 mins and Jason dies somehow bit so clearly not that gripping also part 5 gives enough context didn't really need to go back)
6 is so good I could actually see myself re watching it

There was some legal fuckery going on with Jason that prevented them from making more movies, one of the filmmakers owned young Jason and his mom, while other owned Adult Jason, then Paramount owned the rights to the movies with human Jason, but WB owned the rights to the movies with undead Jason
now Paramount owns WB so that's no longer a problem

>The farmboy apparently was some kind of gay sex symbol.
Joe D'Allesandro is also great as the Van Helsing analogue in Andy Warhol's Dracula. Another horror he starred in at the time was Louis Malle's Black Moon, which is decent if not confusing.
>>
>>218300843
I just didn't get how human and zombie wouldn't fall under adult. And I thought in the documentary, the director of 2 said he ended up not liking the bag, was trying to think of something different for 3, and the prop guy gave him a hockey mask or something, so he could claim both bag and hockey mask Jason I would assume
>>
>>218302547
Idk I think copyright law is fucked. The rights of the entire franchise should go to the person in charge of the start or the studio he signed rights too I would think. And all sequels would go to whoever authorized that movies production. They probably didn't think the movies would do that well and didn't care to actually write documents. I know modern day this would never would have happened, paramount or whoever would have locked that shit down day 1
It's goofy because apparently the 13th Friday film can't even be called Friday the 13th so we're getting Jason or some shit instead. So much unnecessary walking around yellow tape for no reason.

No it was shitty.
The first one was great. First horror movie that got under my skin in decades. But each sequel kept leaning more in spooky clown and the lore of every friggin detail. Sometimes its scarier when things just are what they are.
That spooky piano ditty the guy randomly played in part 1? By part 4 it's got lyrics and lore instead of just being an improvised thing that was used to good effect later.
Same with the clowns. At first they just seemed like something animated by the evil of the hotel, but now we know they were real people with motivations and it just sucks.

Wrong, it's that the guy who wrote the first movie invented Jason and his mom and Crystal Lake, but all the additions to Jason after 1 are owned by the people who wrote those. They're allowed to make a movie about a guy in a hockey mask killing teenagers but it can't be at Crystal Lake and he can't be named Jason. And it's mostly because the writer of 1 hates all the other movies and just wants to prevent them from making more.

I still don't like the cast, but as a movie it's better than 4 and 5.
These movies make me hate horror movie fans though. This sassy black zoomer girl is supposed to be the face of the modern horror movie audience, a real "horror buff" with her basic opinions of mainstream slasher films mixed with woke sensibilities so the BIPOC audience can relate and cheer. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't know how the horror scene turned into this.

>>
>>218320724
when did they change the title?
>>
>>218320770
Day Of The Woman was the original title.
>Zarchi was unable to find a distributor, so he distributed the film himself. Day of the Woman played a number of engagements in rural drive-in theaters, but only for brief runs each time, and Zarchi barely made back the money he had spent on advertising. In 1980, it was picked up for distribution by the Jerry Gross Organization. A condition of this re-release was that the distributors could change the title to anything they wished. It was at this time the film was retitled I Spit on Your Grave.[

I hard disagree. I think it has easily the most likable cast of teenagers since the original, good motive for the killers, good reveal for the killers, and pretty good kills.
Honestly my only real complaint is I think they got a bit too cute with the opening scene but other than that I don't think there's anything bad about it. Just a good Scream movie.

You should go work for the BBFC.

Here's what the director of the BBFC said about cuts to the 2010 remake:
>The cuts to this version of I Spit on Your Grave, which the Board has required, remove elements that tend to eroticise sexual assault (for example, through the use of titillation), as well as other elements that tend to endorse sexual assault (for example, by encouraging viewer complicity by the use of camcorder footage, filmed by the rapists, during the various scenes of sexual assault). With these cuts made, the film’s scenes of very strong terrorisation and sexual violence remain potentially shocking, distressing or offensive to some adult viewers, but are also likely to be found essentially repugnant and aversive. The Board takes the view that, with these cuts, they are not credibly likely to encourage imitation."

You're allowed to see rape and extreme violence, but you absolutely cannot see a tit or bare butt at the same time in case you get horny which will obviously make you want to rape as well.
Bunch of moralfaggots.

It's more Scream 3 than the actual Scream 3 we got because of Kevin Williamson returning as the screen writer. Horror movie sequels are a dime a dozen which gave Scream 2 ample opportunity to switch up the meta narrative the first movie had to comment on the nature of sequels as they exist especially in relation to the horror genre and how real life violence especially back then often gets blamed particularly on horror movies, but horror movie trilogies don't really exist so they had characters reference fucking The Godfather and Star Wars instead and made up rules that didn't really apply to any trilogy they referenced but the movie itself except for revealing/retconning important information regarding the characters like Sidney having a long lost brother who was also apparently secretly the mastermind behind The Woodsboro Murders all along carried out in the first movie.

Scream 4 keeps the relevant social commentary from the first two movies going with all the live streaming on the internet and how people become famous in the era of social media which is all still highly relevant today while simultaneously also commenting on the nature of lazy reboots and remakes that are just full of memberberry references to older, better works of the past because studios just want to play it safe in a post-2007 writers strike/post-2008 financial crisis Hollywood and it did it a hell of a lot better than 5cream did. I can't take anyone's opinions seriously when they say Scream 4 is somehow the black sheep of the series just because it underperformed at the box office.

Spoilers on Scream 4:
The only thing that's dumb is when Jill gets revealed as one of the Ghostfaces suddenly Ghostface is super tiny when it's no longer a tall stuntman behind the mask which is funny but that happens every time a woman or manlet is one of the killers.

Kind of impossible since Scream was a reaction to 80s horror.
I guess if we were to transplant it then it wouldn't be nobodies, since the cast was stacked with up and comers. Neve had been in Party of Five before Scream. So I'm gonna say Jodie Foster, she has a Neve-ish girl next door charm.

I can guarantee you're not as knowledgeable as you think you are and that this is more about your personal sensibilities than it is based in any objective reality. Coraline is an animation and is aimed at younger audiences, but it's still full of conventionally scary scenes. Suspenseful yes, but in a scary way. I will refrain from commenting on Perfect Blue since I still have yet to see it, but it's another animation though it's aimed at older audiences, but I know that the author of the novel considered it a psychological horror story and allowed Kon to change the script somewhat as long as he still kept it horror and judging by how many people and places considers it horror I'd say he succeeded in that task. If it really is a slasher movie then it's a horror movie, every slasher movie is a horror movie otherwise it can't be a slasher because it's a subgenre specifically of horror and only horror and always has been. Anyway I don't really appreciate your snobbish attitude either, most of the critically acclaimed and popular horror films have always been gateway movies and there's nothing wrong with that, it's just that people like you have been trained to think those types of movies are always just pure thrillers "with horror elements" instead of being both at once.
