The D'Kora is able to trade evenly with a Galaxy class, which means they have a whole shipbuilding industry that is churning out ships on par with the best of any regional power. I watched the ep with the Traveler last night, have any series post TNG ever gone back to where he took them? When Data says they should explore for a bit, then they agree to send back a survey ship or whatever, I always wish they came back to it. Could have done a lot with that scenario

Extragalactic rogue star systems and even orphaned planets would be neat to see too, there's always life somewhere. Even that big void in the Delta quadrant had night people living in it, there should absolutely be some people knocking around between galaxies.
