Doubt it. Contemporary media is not made to last, it´s not made to be timeless. They purposely avoid the narrative structures and elements necessary for that to happen. Contemporary media is made to be shallow, entertaining or numbing don´t really matter, you consume it and you move to the next one. A consumable product for a soulless unfocused generation.

Tom's my favorite VOY character by far. His episodes are pretty much what I expected from the show going in: cozy chill vibes, bringing human ideals to the Delta Quadrant without being bound by the laws of the Alpha Quadrant.

Even though Robert Picardo is the best actor on VOY by far, I kinda find the Doctor character poorly utilized. Like the show sort of forgets that he's just a computer program with a completely artificial personality and the philosophical implications of that are tossed aside for just "write Data episodes but he's made of light and has emotions." The mobile emitter is the final nail in him being a unique concept.

And do Vulcans ever eat raw plomeek, plomeek chips, plomeek gravy over Vulcan rice or potatoes, and just exactly what is a plomeek? Is it a plant, a rock, or the by-product of something equally weird like Vulcan spider webs?

There's a twelve sim rape forest on second life. I went there as a science officer on solo away missions a couple times. There was some ongoing war between the natives and foresters and they'd place traps and stuff everywhere then drag each other back to their camps, keeping them trapped in rape cages until enough of their friends could rescue them.

Sometimes I wonder if we're a rape planet for the rest of the galaxy since real life aliens seem to just come by to fuck us and no one else out there seems to be sticking up for us.

There was an album called "Spaced Out: The best of Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner" that put together their best 'musical' works.

Some of it is bad. Some of it is so bad it's good. Right off the first song, you can tell by the sound that the used the star trek band to do the music:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nkz9mMauIAc&list=PLHhF7eXU0QSj9Yk6gh62osQ5o2N0HORQf

Which was symptomatic of writers who were burned out from 18 years of non stop Trek. It was really bad when they had an episode where a lonely dude makes holographic companions for himself, with Rene Auberjonois guest starring, and even he said "we already did this one on my show" and everyone just kinda looked at their feet in embarrassment

For some reason this thread is very comfy. Don't know why. It's just very comfy.
>>
>>218416385
My only real problem with the Sphere-Builder/Xindi storyline is that it's impossible this is the same timeline we know and love from the previous shows. It's ridiculous that the Xindi attack on Florida would never be mentioned, and such a drastic alteration to the timeline means there's no conceivable way any of the human characters end up in the exact same situations as the original timeline.

It's a shame because I think the Xindi are the closest Braga ever came to creating an alien faction on par with the ones from TOS/TNG/DS9.

The Xindi with their five species are creative and unlike anything they'd ever had before. I like their squabbling and their internal politics. Degra is a good character. So are the others who end up joining Archer.
I also liked how they slowly piece together the Sphere Builders' plot over the course of the season.
But it was way too obvious that it was a last minute course correction to give the show a sense of direction after the very aimless beginning which turned audiences off and threatened the show with premature cancellation
