The logistics of Wildling raiders into the North makes no sense: A group of raiders starts north of the Wall. They now need to climb up a 213m tall wall of ice. A Jon chapter shows us how difficult that is, that it takes a whole day, and how people die on the try. Then they need to climb down on the other side, which is supposed be somewhat easier. Now our raiders need to walk 277 km on foot to find the nearest settlement. They can't bring horses over the wall, and I'm not sure Wildlings even have horses? Anyway, now they need to find a village in a foreign land and surprise attack it. After that they have to walk back 277 km on foot, now carrying loot and captive slaves, before northerner soldiers on horses catch them on the northerner's home turf. Then they have to climb the Wall up und down again, with loot and slaves. Slaves who might be struggling, and who for sure are no climbers even if you wanted to force them to. I think books 2&3 of AKOSK rely too much of Blackfyre rebellions as plotpoints to be made into enjoyable tv seasons. Both of them lack hype, twists and cool shit first season had. I believe they will need to spend half of season 2 for Blackfyre flashbacks and explanations, because the main plotline is rather short and simple. Also third book is a jousting tourney again, where dunk loses again, meets a based sidekick again and gets involved with targshit again.
