I know she said the emergency department isn't her thing and she wants to go into pathology, but it's literally your first day on the job as a student doctor. You should be trying to soak up as much knowledge as you can by being present and helping out wherever you're needed. This is the first day of the career SHE CHOSE to do the rest of her life and she's already complaining about burnout???? Not to mention the entire hospital/ER is in the weeds because of the cyber attack and all her colleagues are scrambling with extra charting/clerical work before the next shift gets in. She couldn't stick around a little longer on her very first day in the middle of a crisis to help out? Instead, she had to duck out without even letting one of the two attending physicians know she leaving, because she's "not getting paid" and is "setting boundaries". It's incredibly unprofessional behavior from a student doctor or essentially an "intern" in any other field. I know the show writers are trying to point out the differences in behavior between the different generations in the workplace and their approach to the job, but this was a huge miss for me.
