Based Trek denying that Time exists. It doesn't exist. Time is an illusion. This whole butterfly effect thing is fake.
>>219833820Who the hell is that supposed to be?
>>219834207"This is a high-quality collectible statue of Counselor Deanna Troi from Star Trek The Next Generation, specifically modeled after her look in the show's later seasons."
>>219833820Dianna Troi looks disgusting--nipples protruding--in her blue shirt for every fan to see. Very very disrespectful.
>>219834333I don't remember he nipples being so hard in the later seasons.

If the Threshold salamander thing was so easy to cure, why didn't they just send Voyager beyond the warp 10 mark to get it back to earth and then fix the crew afterwards?
>>219834575Ship from the Delta quadrant filled with salamanders suddenly shows up in Federation space. Is immediately destroyed by squadron of Federation starships, lol
>>219834715Why would they do that?
>>219834749So I could lol about it, obviously.
>>219834715They'd detect Voyager in Earth orbit and then the Doctor could explain what happened and how to fix the crew.
>>219834774What makes you think that the salamanders would allow the doctor to use the communication array?
>>219834575Because Brannon Braga was always more about shock value, than making sense. Also he proved time after time, he doesn't know shit how evolution works (or just didn't care).
How can he talk like that??
>>219835470That was a very weird trans alegory episode.

What does God neeed with a starship?
>>219837028I’m not even opposed to a TOS remake if done right. We can tell stories on the small screen now we never could in the 1960s. The problem is all the writers capable of telling those stories will never work with modern Paramount, who only wants to tell stories like this (>>219836814)
>Doctor gets his own Mr. HydeFun episode.>Robert Picardo liked how the episode presented him with an enjoyable opportunity to act wickedly to the episode's female performers in general. Not long after he performed in this episode, Picardo mused, "Last year I was paid to kiss all the female guest stars. This year I'm paid for sexually harassing all the women in the cast, which has been fun! [...] I abuse women, which is certainly not an image I'm promoting. But they straighten me out in the last couple of minutes."lmao

>>219838553Robert Picardo also wrote all the Doctor's fantasies (mostly naked or half naked crewmembers fighting for his sexual attentions) in the "Doctor's Daydreams Go Berzerk" episode
>>219838553>But they straighten me out in the last couple of minutesPicardo seems like a character on his own.

>>219838553Picardo's an arrogant freak in more ways than one.
>>219839088It's the royal we.
>>219835155Brannon Braga was the proto-redditor:>hates religion>constantly writes about evolution despite having zero idea what it is (like someone who thinks they're smart for reading pop sci headlines)>his substance-less shock imagery plots are basically desperate attempts to get at the top of r/interestingasfuck
>>219839681There's one key difference though. He wasn't afraid to admit he was wrong, and apologized many times for several bad episodes.Reddit writers are arrogant and self-absorbed; what they made is ART - it's simply the audience who is wrong.
>>219837832So... Not being queer, and not wanting to watch tootie trek is now "Nazi" behavior. Not wanting Star Trek to become a prancing fairyland is now "cancel culture". Pure insanity. Forget the fact that nuTrek is total garbage that no one wants, with or without the retarded faggotry. Show business is a popularity contest. If a show isn't popular, it's not going to survive. You can't force everybody to like what you like just because you like it. Get over yourselves.
>>219839894Anyone who describes their opponents as "nazi" are irretrievable, you can't get to that level of delusion without doing permanent damage to your brain. Kind of like that episode where Chakotay got brainwashed to hate a species and fought in a war against them, then couldn't shake off the negative feelings even after learning the truth.
>>219839952>>219839894Fuck you, nazi
>>219839978
>>219839978Case in point
>>219840022>get their two jewish leads to wear nazi uniforms
>>219840050It keeps the propaganda alive.
>>219840050>On 1 December 1967, newspaper and magazine photographers were invited to the set for publicity. Nimoy refused to have any pictures taken of him in Nazi uniform, as he was due to attend the Wilshire Boulevard Temple children's Hanukkah services later the same month, and did not want any possible controversies to arise.
What nuTrek gets wrong more than anything is that Star Trek should feel like a stageplay. This is why I also don't like the pre-JJ Trek movies.
>>219840335You know who also enjoyed stageplays? HITLER

>>219839793And yet, he defended "A night in sickbay".
>>219840571We get it... You love nuTrek, and see yourself as the supreme arbiter of what others should be allowed to think about. So is your next move going to be writing yet another crybaby blog where you project your own psychotic psychological failures onto every other poster who disagrees with your tyrannical faggitty fascist views of what should or should not be acceptable posting behavior on this extraterrestrial basket weaving forum?

>>219841393He asked for, and received permission to bring Porthos down with the landing party. He would have probably, happily left his dog on the ship if the Kreetassans had informed him of their sacred trees.
>>219836775>hardly any merchandise coming outBecause Paramount increased the price of the Star Trek license
They should make a Kelvin timeline version of Voyager
This makes me sad. They are like the washed-up hazbins from Galaxy Quest.
Nutrek is going to be wiped out of existence as if it never happened, and the next show will be with Archer.
>>219837660>Terry Matalas' shitty 7 of 9 lesbian fanfic will never get madeThat's great, but>shitty Enterprise-G still considered canon>next time we get an Enterprise it'll have to be at least the Enterprise-HEnterprise-J edging closer and closer

>>219842354So many of the decisions around it are indulgent and contrived>Riker's USS Titan was notable enough to get a successor with an -A suffix>whole new ship but for some reason it has the Titan's computer core, making it a "refit">I like TMP-era, this TMP-era fan-design looks cool, let's just use it even though it makes no sense and it's already popular enough that everyone who gives a shit about ships already knows it as Bill Krause's Shangri-la>Titan-A helps save the Federation, should be a historically significant ship in its own right by now>let's rename it, lol>an old, beat-up, tiny Enterprise will make for a perfect flagship!I'm sure they'd pull out Matt Jefferies' original notes to prove he thought the refit should be called the -A like that matters when it didn't happen

>>219842024>>219843249Nevermind. I didn't recognize him without his wig.
>>219840050The word Nazi had an entirely different context 60 years ago. It held serious weight and wasn't another buzzword for an unlikable person. When Patterns of Force aired, we were only 20 years removed from WW II. Plenty of people remembered it. Now we're so far removed from Hitler, he's become a mythological figure.
>>219843142this one
>>219843393Who is it?
>>219842793And the post credits scene shows that the Riker simulation was actually a holodeck simulation being run by Barclay.
>>219842302could unironically be kino if it wasn't pozzed
>>219843429Unfortunately, too many people still remember the war propaganda that's been drilled into their heads for the last 60 years.
>>219842302They could bring back evil Tucker III from the Terran universe.
>>219843617They could also time travel and prevent Trip from being injured by the warp core blast, which would also restore the life of Dr Pflox's simbiant.
Just started Undiscovered Country. The refit TOS Starfleet aesthetics have peaked here. Crew behavior is a lot more respectful, busy people everywhere. Kino
>>219843686Nah, no time travel for the sake of reviving dead people. By that logic they could always retrieve a fresh Captain Kirk from somewhere once the old one dies.
>>219843686what the hell is this ooga booga bullshit
>>219843758You do realize we're not talking about reality, but a science fiction television show/movie, right?
>>219843882scifi doesn't mean all rules are off the table tho.My memories of Enterprise are vague at best but if that Daniels guy is still alive, he could probably bring back Tucker.
>>219843872>Wait! This is Star Trek! You can't just make this shit up!
>>219843934With time travel, right?
For me, it's Lt. Stadi
>>219843758Okay. Then just time travel into the future and kick Riker's ass until he agrees not to make up his holodeck fantasy where Trip dies.
>>219843882It's the law, lower your shields now anon.
>>219844165Oh look! The time travelers showed up to make things right again, lol

>>219849755I got to thinking about something similar the other day, and came to the conclusion that:> the decline and fall of the west can be seen in LegosWhen I was a very young child, in the 70's, we played with legos. We had big box or container, something that had passed down through 1/2 a dozen children already, and we just made stuff. We weren't told what to make, or how to make it. There was trial and error, and mostly the imagination. You can (and did) make everything; and when you were done, you'd throw in back in the box, ready to be torn about the next time when you wanted to build something else. Now, not only do they have to tell you what to build, they have to provide you with idiot-proof instructions on how to put the simple parts together. Meanwhile, the child who built random crazy stuff for no other reason than creativity, is replaced with a child (or adult), who want the thrill of being creative without the burden of being creative. I could go on, but another example would be "The Beam", where people can pretend to be as brave as 1930's workers eating their lunch suspended in the air; all in the comfort of an entirely safe (but fake) photo-op tourist traphttps://www.rockefellercenter.com/the-beam/
>>219849755Modern television writers grew up on 00’s internet culture which was totally wacky and absurd. This culture turned into 2010s SuperWholock tumblr where the fans believed they should act as consultants since they now had a direct pipeline to the creatives. Now in the 2020s shows are directly written to go viral on social media. Whereas TOS and Berman Trek were written before the internet so people took things much more seriously. Succession was the last TV show that didn’t have brainrot Reddit dialogue.

I fucking hate the joke the writers make about the Kazon being unworthy of assimilation. Basically admitting that they wasted our time with the worst additions to the series. There's this weird contempt for the earlier seasons that crops up occasionally in the latter half. Obviously there's Fury, but there are also flashbacks to pre-Seven sickbay scenes showing Tom as the nurse, bringing back Joe Carey solely to kill him right before they get home, George Costanza casually mentioning that they cured the Vidiian phage off-screen, and probably more.

terra prime is a good ending to ent. shame there wasnt another 75 eps before it

> DS9 Episode Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang > Sisko complains about the lack of 1960's racism making Vic's program unrealistic> Bashir has these cardsWhat did the producers mean by this?

>>219852015I like the Klingon lawyer. Before ENT he and the Klingon chef were among the few indications I can recall that there are people besides warriors in their society.Hell, doesn't that one Beverly episode state that scientists are looked down upon in Klingon and Ferengi society? Freaking ridiculous.
>>219852225The Klingon lawyer definitely gets the shit kicked out of him routinely

the Klingon lawyer in Enterprise was based. the one in DS9 was lame
Lucas is a fucking hack.
>>219852367I had a weird experience with that comic last year. I was trying for the life of me trying to remember what the name of the comic with the round guy was because I kept conflating him with Dobson. When I finally found it by searching for the Klingon scientist strip, I learned the comic came back from a several year hiatus literally that same exact day I searched for it. Spooked me out.

Times you got Star Trek jumpscared?I was wondering if Glup Shitto was added to Wookieepedia because apparently the official Star Wars Twitter account mentioned the term and instead stumbled upon some SW shitposting wiki:https://starwars-universe.fandom.com/wiki/Glup_Shitto

Show me some Top 100 Trekisodes lists across all pre-nuTrek series I like overanalyzing them.https://www.imdb.com/list/ls076657706/Interesting to see how much ENT dominates the list, overtaking VOY & TOS and nearly tying with DS9. I imagine this can be attributed to ENT airing at the height of IMDb's internet relevance, before all the big social media platforms. One of the main things I'm curious about is seeing what fans consider to be the best "regular" episode. As you can see the top of the list is dominated by what you might consider episodes with "inflated" scores due to mets reasons (i.e. all the TOS episodes that have entered the public consciousness and have thus become harder to gauge an objective scoring of, episodes that are important to the series due to lore reasons like Q Who, episodes that have a narrative twist/gimmick that make them stick out more like The Visitor, etc.).By these standards I reckon Cause and Effect is the highest "regular" episode on this list. I think you can definitely argue that it's one of the most "Star Trek" episodes of all time.Another thing I'm curious about is seeing if general consensus on an episode changed over time. I feel like Darmok used to get clowned on when I first got into TNG, but nowadays I'm seeing it praised more and more as embodying the ethos of Star Trek.

>>219846994The Tom body horror stuff is the best part. Can cut out the Warp 10 stuff as that part of Trek lore feels too important to fuck with in a one-off episode and definitely cut out the baffling ending. My idea for a fix would be to sort of combine the concept with Favorite Son and the Kobali episode:Tom fucks an alien, turns out this species is hermaphroditic and reproduces by laying eggs in the loser (similar to snail love darts), this also mutates the host not unlike parasitic barnacles, Tom's body starts mutating just like in Threshold, the Doctor can fix all this but doing so would kill the babies inside him, Tom refuses, ethical dilemma about whether that is really Tom, eleventh hour risky technobabble allows them to restore Tom without killing the babies. Maybe some discussion about whether they should share this breakthrough with the aliens in order to end the suffering caused by their reproduction or if completely fucking with a species's reproduction methods has too many ramifications.
