Speaking of Twixt, favorite Poe adaptation?Better yet, favorite Poe story? I had fun with The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym as a kid.
>>219906186>>219906208Such a comfy movie. Forgot the ending though so don’t spoil.
>/hor/ - Horror General
How do you fuck that up?
>>219906256Shut the fuck up
Stephen King movie adaptations all have a certain vibe about them and Twixt definitely has this vibe also even though it isn’t an adaptation.
>>219906186Are all of Coppola's late period films autobiographical? Twixt and Megalopolis both come across as convoluted metaphors for the filmmaking process. I haven't seen Tetro or the one with Tim Roth, but they give off that vibe.
>>219906244Idk, the Raven with John Cusack
>>219906323> Coppola's late period films autobiographical? Twixt and Megalopolis both come across as convoluted metaphors for the filmmaking process. Never thought about that. What makes you think that? The movie seems like a Stephen King story.
And welcome to Elle Fanning.
Two Insidiouses on the same day?
>>219906552
>>219906586Hot
>>219906339That shouldn't have been as good as it is

>>219906552Fun fact, Dan Deacon did the music for this movieYou might know him as the auteur behind this videohttps://youtu.be/zdU635esPpQ

Mudborn, anyone seen?
>>219907284rewatch it and see how bad it isterrible lighting, terrible editing, terrible jumpscaresthe scary ghosts like they wear makeup and costumes from a 1 dollar storethe jump from insidious to conjuring was insane
>>219907408I don’t know, I saw it about a year ago and it comes off as a spooky scary horror movie that tries to be spooky scary and succeeds. The movie gets better each year that passes.
Woke up early to go to the Monday Mystery Movie and it was a fiasco. It was a horror double feature and first movie was Over Your Dead Body. I already saw it last week so I left early. Second was Hokum and I was excited to see it, but I had to leave early to go to work. Missed the last third. Felt like a very traditional horror story, like 1408 or The Woman in Black.
>>219907454it "works" until lin shaye shows up. then it goes full camp
>>219907583It goes full good horror ending. Very fantastic movie.
Just put on Atakan: the Bloody Legend
>>219907583The movie was perfect desu. Second one also.
Goddamnit Hope
>finally give this a shotHoly shit, that was really good, I eventually watch all the VHS movies but I put this one off after the last one was kind of shit. Kidprint was probably the most terrifying segment in the entire franchise, the way they shot that entire sequence and the payoff is perfect, the only segment I didnt like was the wraparound and Fun Time overstayed its welcome especially with the joke. I hope the next one they do is as gritty and fucked up as this one ended up being.
>>219907756Believe it or not, I'm with you. Only one I liked better was 2. I generally dislike the franchise though, so it's faint praise.
>>219907756*sigh*
>>219906186really cool poster
>>219907729
>>219907892*shakes head*
>>219907805I have varying degrees of enjoyment, 2 was my favorite then right below it is VHS 99 but I heavily disliked 94, 85 and Beyond. Its really varying degrees.>>219907810What?

>>219908271I will do it when I get home if no one has posted it yet. At work right now
>>219908156A lot of people don’t like that series here. Every year a movie comes out but they have all been disappointing since the first movie except for one. That series doesn’t deserve to be mentioned here. It is like spam.
>James Wan is a Master of Horror
>>219908591you watch them with the expectation of getting scared but you arent 12 anymore just have fun with it
>>219908634After like 13 movies and 12/13 being absolutely dog shit, it is safe to say the series doesn’t deserve to mentioned. There is one good segment and it was Indonesian segmemt and VHS Beyond.
>>219908670>>219908634Hey, stop talking about this movie.

>>219909833If it was at the start of this thread, sure. To make a new one 68 posts in, though, I don't agree with
Just finished. This is one of the most retarded movies I've ever seen, bros. A dude gets killed by a playground. Not the merry go round, not the see saw, not the slide, the whole thing at once grows around him like ivy and impales him on its bars. It sounds cooler than it is and it's still one of the best scenes in the movie. Xochi isn't even cute. /tv/ tends to grind me down and make me fond of actresses I didn't like that much just by spamming them forever until I do, and when I watched Whistle I was flabbergasted by how hot Daffy was even though I didn't consider myself much of a fan. Xochi I was expecting to be wanking over but she just didn't look good enough. And they try to turn the killer playground into some kind of metaphor for working class minorities standing up for themselves? This is so stupid that the reveal is the playground hates sugar. This is a movie about nannies and gardeners killing a living playground by giving it soda. Jesus Christ.
>>219910259Oh yeah, she's a terrible actress, too.
