I skipped so many low effort episodes of TNG on rewatch for the last 20 years I realized there were 2 I had never seen recently
>>
>>220002491
You probably skipped anything that had Janeway's gothic horror holonovel in the teaser like any normal viewer would.
>>
>>220001853
You've gotta watch it just to be able to fully appreciate how they squandered all the potential with the mostly episodic TNG formula.
The night before last I unironically dreamt about a Voyager finale where by the end of the show the ship was so beaten up and had so many alien modifications that it had become virtually unrecognisable, and then the first Federation ship that meets it is a clean, unmolested Intrepid class. Voyager pops out of a wormhole or whatever and they meet nose to nose, so it looks like a fucked up mirror image.
In RLM's Voyager video Mike dismissed this as a possibility because they had their roster of beauty shots of the physical model they had to get their money out of, but the show was openly intended to be used as a testbed for CGI effects. Half the regularly used beauty shots of Voyager were already CGI from the very beginning. If you're uncertain whether you're looking at CGI or not you can tell from whether the windows beneath the shuttlebay are lit, they couldn't squeeze lights in there for the physical model.

becuase its a half baked dilemma
holomoset was right, emh is full of medical knowledge that was initially gained through unethical practices. the voy crew was only emotional about it because it was recent instead of 500 years ago.
>>
Reminder that one exploding panel took out both Janeway and B'Elanna in that episode where Kes was traveling backwards through time.
>>
I'm fine with exploding panels as a visual way to communicate the ship is getting damaged, but I hate how frequently it just insta-kills the poor goldshirt. I always hope they're just horribly burned and unconscious, but too often you have a main character check their pulse or dialogue confirming they've lost a crewman.
>>
How exactly does a shower of sparks kill a person? In TNG sometimes a crewman would get badly burned, in VOY's pilot some of the bridge crew had shrapnel wounds, but later on crewmen just fall over and stop breathing. Is it supposed to be such a concussive force that it damages them internally? Is it supposed to be electrocution?

Why did yeomen stop being a thing post-TOS? I actually happened to speedrun Lower Decks a few days back.
I literally only watched episodes/scenes with Good Trek characters though.
That meant a bunch of clips on YT including seeing Riker captaining the Titan, Rom as Grand Nagus putting in an application for Ferenginar to join the Federation, 2 entire episodes (one where they go to DS9 and Kira & Quark are there), (one where they jump between different quantum realities (starring alt versions of T'Pol, Curzon Dax, Harry Kim, Gay Bashir & Garak (wtf) and Lily Sloane from First Contact)).
The humour is absolutely ghastly. Very difficult to sit through desu.

Engels on what a communist society would look like:

>There will be no more crises; the expanded production, which for the present order of society is overproduction and hence a prevailing cause of misery, will then be insufficient and in need of being expanded much further.

>This development of industry will make available to society a sufficient mass of products to satisfy the needs of everyone.

>The same will be true of agriculture, which also suffers from the pressure of private property and is held back by the division of privately owned land into small parcels. Here, existing improvements and scientific procedures will be put into practice, with a resulting leap forward which will assure to society all the products it needs.

>In this way, such an abundance of goods will be able to satisfy the needs of all its members.

Sounds an awful lot like "post-scarcity" to me, dipshit.

Communism or something like it could only work with a Trek level of technology. When you've cracked antimatter energy generation and machines that can make food materialize out of thin air and have dozens of empty planets people who don't like it can leave to go to practically any form of government would probably be stable.

Seven of nine is such a weird aspect of Voyager because she is an interesting character, Jeri Ryan gives a great performance and her being hot doesn't hurt either. But she completely takes over the show. There are so, so many seven-centric episodes. It gets old after a while in and of itself but also because it a) removes too much of the mystique of the borg and b) makes characters that were already sidelined have even less to do. It being so patently obvious that her prominence had a lot to do with Braga getting to plow her IRL makes it worse too.
>>
>>220001853

Yeah that is pretty much exactly how I feel about her. I don't give a shit that Chakotay and Kim got fewer episodes, but more Tuvok could've been good. Maybe Torres is wasted potential, too. She's pretty one-dimensional but still better than Chakotay.

Maybe a hot take, but I think Paris's character was overall handled better than most of the cast and is a top 3 of the VOY crew for me. Sure a lot of episodes he just says "Yes, ma'am" but he continues to periodically get fun episodes after Seven takes over.

I think I liked Kes way more on my first watch because she was a complete surprise. I had a decent grasp on all the other characters (besides maybe B'Elanna, I just knew she exists and thought she was 1/4th Klingon) before jumping in through people talking about the show and seeing clips of it here and there. I had no idea that there was this whole other main character who sticks around for nearly half the series.

But on rewatch, I concede that she's a stinky kaka character who doesn't add much and every new trait/power they keep adding onto the Ocampa is absurd.

In rewatching last time I was surprised to remember that Seven episodes really weren't as copious or frequent as I assumed.
