The Ninth Gate was about how I remembered it from when I first watched it many years ago. It was quite gripping and enjoyable for most of it, but I found the ending underbaked and disappointing. I think it's one of few films that could have been much better if it was much longer. It needed scenes to set up Corso's motivation to pursue completion of the ritual, scenes giving more information about what's in the books and what they mean, and some kind of setup beyond what we got for how Corso was led to the final engraving.

Ok, I watched The Craft and it was supremely kino. I didn't expect it to actually be scary, I always thought of it as a gothic high school dramedy. Very effective build up of tension, well written characters. They actually act like high school kids as well. On that note, the film succeeds as a high school drama with light sex comedy-esque elements while also being an excellent supernatural thriller. They don't make 'em like they used to.

I have been looking for some horror (or more like thriller) movie and I don't fucking remember the name, it's been years. It was like from the 2000s, a guy falls in love with the wife of some old guy that owns a motel and wants to protect her from him. At the end it's revealed the mc was actually a a schizo and all of that was in his head and the motel guy wife was never in danger.
