I have to admit, this might be the best of the three. At least as /hor/. Interesting lore, locations, and beautiful girls.

the people who certify that "no animals were harmed in the making of this film" tag used to have a database where you could look up old films. it had an article about how terrible Cat People was and they killed cougar etc. from what I can tell they just do the positive stuff now about the ones that pass.
but I'm sure the kitty was fine.

>>
>>220088780
Seems like a broad question. Stuff with women that look like her? Vampires? Hammer? 60s?
First thing that pops into my head is Fear Has 1000 Eyes, an old Swedish witchcraft movie that I stumbled into just a few months ago. It's slow and not violent, but the women are gorgeous and they get naked. It just hit bluray this year and as far as I can tell was very damn obscure before that. I love it but imagine it's an acquired taste.

Undwater (2020): good, or bad?

pros
>Kristen Stewart in underwear half the movie
>T.J. Miller making irreverent funny comments
>hey it's Vincent Cassel!
>relatively rare scenario and sticks to it

cons
>everyone except for T.J is a bore
>it's fucking PG-13
>the movie is kind of empty both from a story and a world perspective
>100% derivative, there is nothing original in this movie
>>
>>220089277
It's comfy enough up until the end. I fucking hate CGI. It just sucked all of the life out of the ending and to be honest it was pretty generic anyway.
They really needed to save it with that thalassophobic aura but couldn't pull it off.

Creepozoids had enough crazy shit in it I could actually enjoy it. The Italians were losing their ability to make shlockino though and it shows here. Very little effort put into it compared to others. Worst part probably though is it's such a by the numbers ripoff.

HORROR! WOOOO! YEAH!
>>
>>220086265

This was OK but I kept thinking how much better it would be with sharper direction, better editing and a more interesting soundtrack, although to be fair the script is fairly generic. Amanda Fix is cute though.

I tried watching the IT remake (2017) last night. Yes and i am a millennial who grew up with the old tv adaptation.
I just couldn't get into this new one. The CGI kept taking me out of the movie. Skarsgard was genuinely creepy at times and then the scene would get retarded and over the top with CGI.

Am I being a fag here or did other people feel this way? Do others think it holds up after nearly a decade?

Thanks for posting the banned list. Those movies sure are shitty. I also noticed that woke cuck Romero has over 3 films on the list. Good. That cuck was the og cuck. Yeah I could see someone with a little more restrained doing a better job directing. It felt like they didn't have the confidence to let the quiet stuff play out.

Explain.
They should have used the horror filter you see in the Conjuring or Insidious movies. Or used that dark gritty style of TCM remakes or movies like Exeter (directed by guy directed tcm remake).
Movie was too bright and friendly.

for example...the scene with Georgie. It was unsettling how Pennywise stopped laughing with Georgie about the popcorn, and the first time he moved the boat back a little bit. Just those two little things so you knew the boy was in danger and suspense waiting for it to happen.

But then suddenly his mouth turned into a dumb looking CGI thing and the long clown hand reaching out to pull Georgie down to the sewer. They could have even stopped with the cgi mouth and cut to the old lady hearing him scream or something.

I'm sure that a better director with some flair would improve things, but for me, the issue was how everything had to go big.

I watched Monolith because someone here compared it to Undertone, saying Monolith was much better, and I agree. Undertone had an oppressively creepy atmosphere throughout the whole thing, and as a result it ended up feeling like a gimmick; while Monolith develops an atmosphere like that during the second act, and it feels earned. Monolith has a more fleshed out protagonist and actual world building.

The only part that really took me out of it was when she coughed up the black brick. Physiologically that would have killed her on the spot. Maybe a nit pick, but I think it would have been much scarier for her to have simply found it in her house like it supposedly happened for everyone else.

I greatly appreciated that the core theme of the film was accountability, which is not something you see often. That's one of the things I love about Abruptio. I'd love Abruptio either way because of how delightfully bizarre it is, but both it and Monolith really bring it all together with their themes.

I think what spoilt it for me was that they purposely tried to make Pennywise look scary. That's always a big fuck up. Tim Curry's worked best because he was a fairly generic looking clown. The kind that actually could entice kids into a storm drain. Lil hard Rs aren't going to approach something like the 2017 one.
Annabelle is the same. The original doll is unnerving because it's so simple and generic. They try to make it look scary and no one is going to buy that shit for their kid.
That only works well when there's a transformation, like Chucky. He's a completely normal looking doll and it's only when he starts morphing into a human that he looks scary. If he looked like that from the off absolutely no one is going to say "Yes, that's the perfect gift for my child who thinks there are monsters living under the bed" and I could go on and on about this simple mistake that keeps getting made.

Someone get me Hollywood on the line so I can give them a piece of my mind!
