I have to admit, this might be the best of the three. At least as /hor/. Interesting lore, locations, and beautiful girls.
>>220086236the people who certify that "no animals were harmed in the making of this film" tag used to have a database where you could look up old films. it had an article about how terrible Cat People was and they killed cougar etc. from what I can tell they just do the positive stuff now about the ones that pass.but I'm sure the kitty was fine.

>>220086813>no clue how many /hor/posters agreeNone, it's just one guy. He's causes a lot of trouble here.
>>220086813it's a forced meme by one autist. mock him without mercy.
The banned list, I believe, comes direct from the higher-ups of the Horror Community. Ignore it at your own peril.
>>220085878Any recs for horror kino to scratch my Pitt itch (doesn't have to be from her, just suitably Pitty)?
>>220088780Seems like a broad question. Stuff with women that look like her? Vampires? Hammer? 60s?First thing that pops into my head is Fear Has 1000 Eyes, an old Swedish witchcraft movie that I stumbled into just a few months ago. It's slow and not violent, but the women are gorgeous and they get naked. It just hit bluray this year and as far as I can tell was very damn obscure before that. I love it but imagine it's an acquired taste.
>>220088780>Vampyres>The Velvet Vampire
Undwater (2020): good, or bad?pros>Kristen Stewart in underwear half the movie>T.J. Miller making irreverent funny comments>hey it's Vincent Cassel!>relatively rare scenario and sticks to itcons>everyone except for T.J is a bore>it's fucking PG-13>the movie is kind of empty both from a story and a world perspective>100% derivative, there is nothing original in this movie
>>220089277It's comfy enough up until the end. I fucking hate CGI. It just sucked all of the life out of the ending and to be honest it was pretty generic anyway. They really needed to save it with that thalassophobic aura but couldn't pull it off.
>>220089133>Stuff with women that look like her? Vampires?Sorry about the vagueness, but basically this/these, yeah.>First thing that pops into my head is Fear Has 1000 EyesThanks. Will look into it.

>>220080144Creepozoids had enough crazy shit in it I could actually enjoy it. The Italians were losing their ability to make shlockino though and it shows here. Very little effort put into it compared to others. Worst part probably though is it's such a by the numbers ripoff.
HORROR! WOOOO! YEAH!
>>220086265...It was terrible. Lackluster everything and crappy cgi even for the time.
This was OK but I kept thinking how much better it would be with sharper direction, better editing and a more interesting soundtrack, although to be fair the script is fairly generic. Amanda Fix is cute though.
>>220090484i love brooke so much bros its unreal
>>220089170I love the dark haired woman from Vampyres. I'd let her drain my blood if you know what I mean.
>be me>fan of Showa J-horror (yes I’m a paying for Criterion and Arrow)>people online only seem to care about Onibaba, which is basically a black comedy and frankly not as good as Kuroneko and other movies in this category in my opinion>weeb friends only care about anime, not even samurai movies or Godzilla which are normie-tier>have no one irl who has seen these types of movies and can talk about them with me except my 70-year-old Japanese teacher from university>”Ooh anon-san, you like ghost movies? Kowai. You’re a weird boy.”Any other weebs know this feel?
I tried watching the IT remake (2017) last night. Yes and i am a millennial who grew up with the old tv adaptation.I just couldn't get into this new one. The CGI kept taking me out of the movie. Skarsgard was genuinely creepy at times and then the scene would get retarded and over the top with CGI.Am I being a fag here or did other people feel this way? Do others think it holds up after nearly a decade?

>>220093453The remakes were kinda bad. Not scary enough and tone was too light . Should have got James Wan for it.
Thanks for posting the banned list. Those movies sure are shitty. I also noticed that woke cuck Romero has over 3 films on the list. Good. That cuck was the og cuck. I pity those who enjoy those movies or were born in that era. They must have so much african dei inside their wives. All the other movies are woke dei slop.
>>220092127You shut your mouth simp.
>Bodycam (2025)I pirated the full Blu-ray and holy shit this is the worst and most phoned in Blu-ray I've ever seen. The entire movie file is 11GB with MPEG-2 video. MPEG-2 video, the same shit we had on DVDs 25 years ago, is on a motherfucking Blu-ray released in 2026.
>>220093667Yeah I could see someone with a little more restrained doing a better job directing. It felt like they didn't have the confidence to let the quiet stuff play out.
>>220085915Is this that guy everyone claims to know? The one that fucks 10/10 women because he’s so funny, confident, and has a great personality?
>>220086452This was way better than part two.
>>220086665We almost got Michael vs Pinhead.
>>220093757> It felt like they didn't have the confidence to let the quiet stuff play out.Explain. They should have used the horror filter you see in the Conjuring or Insidious movies. Or used that dark gritty style of TCM remakes or movies like Exeter (directed by guy directed tcm remake). Movie was too bright and friendly.
>>220089277That gets me rock hard
Waddup old frens, any good recent horrors?
I’m hitting up a horror convention this up coming weekend.
>>220093815All unattractive people tend to reply on “personality.” >>220093757>>220093883Needed a director with style or flair. James Wan or Zack Syder. (I know it’s cool to hate on superior people but those two are famous for reasons)

>>220093836They tried too hard with the second movie to make it look like a Tarantino film
>>220094017Too many mexicans in usa.
>>220093883for example...the scene with Georgie. It was unsettling how Pennywise stopped laughing with Georgie about the popcorn, and the first time he moved the boat back a little bit. Just those two little things so you knew the boy was in danger and suspense waiting for it to happen. But then suddenly his mouth turned into a dumb looking CGI thing and the long clown hand reaching out to pull Georgie down to the sewer. They could have even stopped with the cgi mouth and cut to the old lady hearing him scream or something.I'm sure that a better director with some flair would improve things, but for me, the issue was how everything had to go big.
>>220093552Add freaky Asian horror>>220092600Also this guy is expelled from /hor/
>>220093928LOL I was just thinking about this post recently… glad to see you still around.
I watched Monolith because someone here compared it to Undertone, saying Monolith was much better, and I agree. Undertone had an oppressively creepy atmosphere throughout the whole thing, and as a result it ended up feeling like a gimmick; while Monolith develops an atmosphere like that during the second act, and it feels earned. Monolith has a more fleshed out protagonist and actual world building. The only part that really took me out of it was when she coughed up the black brick. Physiologically that would have killed her on the spot. Maybe a nit pick, but I think it would have been much scarier for her to have simply found it in her house like it supposedly happened for everyone else.I greatly appreciated that the core theme of the film was accountability, which is not something you see often. That's one of the things I love about Abruptio. I'd love Abruptio either way because of how delightfully bizarre it is, but both it and Monolith really bring it all together with their themes.
>>220093552>Non-cucked movies on /hor/ftfy
>>220094249>Also this guy is expelled from /hor/lel /tv/ needs a /jap/ general.
>>220094839All /tv/ has is that guy spamming the "japanese acting" threads using the same webms from 10 years ago. Dude clearly has zero life and is probably Korean or somewhere else in Asia that irrationally hates the Japanese.

>>220094247Sure. Every thing was too light hearted. The old woman and house part was decent and trippy.
>>220094910This and fags posting stuff that belongs on /a/.
>>220093453I think what spoilt it for me was that they purposely tried to make Pennywise look scary. That's always a big fuck up. Tim Curry's worked best because he was a fairly generic looking clown. The kind that actually could entice kids into a storm drain. Lil hard Rs aren't going to approach something like the 2017 one.Annabelle is the same. The original doll is unnerving because it's so simple and generic. They try to make it look scary and no one is going to buy that shit for their kid. That only works well when there's a transformation, like Chucky. He's a completely normal looking doll and it's only when he starts morphing into a human that he looks scary. If he looked like that from the off absolutely no one is going to say "Yes, that's the perfect gift for my child who thinks there are monsters living under the bed" and I could go on and on about this simple mistake that keeps getting made.Someone get me Hollywood on the line so I can give them a piece of my mind!

If I was stating a certifiable fact I would just say>Water is wetI hope you're taking notes.
>>220096982I’m not finding the posts because I’m not a lowly archive grubber but there’s a guy who’s been harping for years on how some monsters like Pennywise shouldn’t be visibly scary because the way the best horror works is uncanny valley and things “being where they shouldn’t or doing things they shouldn’t”, ie a clown in a sewer, whereas a scary monster clown / scary Annabelle doll can be anywhere and do anything because it’s already a monster. It stuck with me because they were good points and I want to write horror myself. So anyway that anon just tried reusing the same exact points but worse and passing it off as his own ideas lol, just had to call it out. I hate cringe pseuds and gross pliagiarists
>>220097064> But it is. If it wasn't me I would have restated the points verbatim. No, it isn’t. And you didn’t. You didn’t even understand the points you’re aping and that the critical component is being uncanny
