authoritarians behave the same way no matter what system they originally propose. a new class is created exclusively for them where they don’t have to abide by the rules of the rest. currently large banks, large corporations, and the wealthiest billionaires are protected from any sort of failure, to the point where they’re allowed to openly commit financial crimes that would land anyone else in prison.

I can't wait for it to drop because Tim Pool saw an early screening and is having daily meltdowns telling people to not see it because the villain is Elon Musk's mom and it critiques crony capitalism. Apparently the ending has all the animals go in and destroy a dam which Tim equivalates to 'killing everyone'.

Sorry but yeah this message needs to be shown. There is no small business anymore. Companies bought out by private equity or Google, Chinese slave labor outsourcing the norm, Indian tech outsourcing becoming the norm, people can't even afford a house let alone farm.

Capitalism is fine but we essentially have an authoritarian oligopoly.

It switched to “race baiting” issues shortly after Arab spring resulted in several overthrows of governments. This wasn’t a coincidence. The original leadership of occupy stepped down once “race baiting” groups demanded they do, in order to push their ideology of nothing. This resulted in the collapse of occupy.

They do want more government retard. It helps them to shut down independent competition with red tape and taxes that they conveniently wheedle into the law via lobbyists/congressmen to be exempt from. It gives them a powerful military apparatus to also shut down foreign governments/businesses that in any way threaten them (see Gaddafi). The bad people at the top want more government so they can have more power. Retards like you somehow still think the government is on your side (lol) when you are nothing but a useful idiot to them. The corruption is even down in the lowliest county governments who also vote themselves more money and more power at any given chance. Can you wrap your brain around this:
Imagine you are an intelligent criminal. What is a safer, more efficient way to make money- Start a gang, rob people, steal from store, sell drugs, OR, pick red/blue, say the lines they give you to say, and then vote yourself legally to get more money and more power? Now imagine you and your criminal pals have a total grip on the power apparatus. Are you going to give it up? No. Are you going to allow competition for the businesses who bankroll you? No. Are you going to give your financiers whatever they demand? Yes. See how simple that is?

I dunno I didn't read it, I already hate the government and recognise tyranny without a book needing to tell me to so I haven't read it or 1984 or any of those other such things
Yet somehow I feel the people making this movie who presumably have read it understand it even less than I do

>calling an entity with trillions in revenue and the ability to be everywhere at once the same thing as a single human being (read: a citizen of the United States) isn’t the same thing as “all animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others”

okay anon. You win.

And how is bribery protected speech?

Reminder to discord-leftists that the next Democrat candide will be a Bill Clinton 90s style moderate. You've been abandoned by your own party who want to distance themselves from you as much as possible. You have no home or platform, and your 2020 era was a fad like late 60s hippies had and is never ever coming back. You are historically and permanently abandoned and raped

The Supreme Court ruling on citizens united vs the FEC in 2010.

Animal Farm is still a book about communism. A woke corporation has nothing to do with that, no matter if it's making "trillions in revenue", retard

It’s a book about authoritarianism. Doesn’t matter where the observations came from because authoritarians operate the exact same way every single time no matter what ideology they originally pushed.

That has nothing to do with bribery though, it's about political donations, which existed long before it and both sides take

You said bribery was protected speech, prove it

NTA but is your issue is with campaign donations? Okay how is someone supposed to run for office on no budget? Self funding? Great you just made it so only the rich can be in offices of power. What's your solution to this?

The campaign contribution and lobbying system were originally invented so the richest man in the world, King George III, couldn’t just buy the colonies back. They were “controlled” bribery, an admission that bribery would happen and controls on how much a politician could be bribed by one person/entity. Both have been blown open to the point where there are no limits and the Supreme Court ruling on citizens united vs the FEC granted “protected speech” (first amendment rights) to lobbying and campaign contributions, establishing that any limitation of such, is unconstitutional.

Read: bribery is protected speech.

>all his observations apply to corporate personhood
Corporate personhood is not great, but it's a low-grade partial hack of a capitalist democracy that is largely working pretty well for most normal people in it who aren't retards or drug addicts.
Communist countries do things like shut off food to entire districts or send you to snow hell if you aren't a productive enough coal mine guy, which is the scale of perversity that animal farm is attempting to describe
You could say "my parents took away my Xbox because I sassed them it's controlled speech just like orwell it all applies equally" and technically you'd have a point, but you'd look like a histrionic retard, which is how leftists look when they apply animal farm to ebil American republicans

Orwell was left-wing, but he began to grow disillusioned with the Soviet Union, especially as events like the purges became more widely known. Many left-wing writers and thinkers in the West tried to adopt a critical stance toward totalitarianism, while at the same time seeking to avoid the “original” forms of totalitarianism associated with the right. They did not want to abandon the left, but rather to distinguish themselves from what they saw as a form of totalitarianism. This is clearer if you read any western philosophy from the post-WW2 era, specially from the "german" exiles of the inter-war period, though it is pretty boring topic.

I always saw it as a violent overthrow will enable someone just as bad to replace the original oppressor. If you let populism run unchecked in that vacuum, someone will take advantage of it.
>>
>>220209513
Of that ruling is overturned then what stops a corporation from using their funds to get the candidate they want elected via different means? You don't need to directly lobby to get your desired legislation passed. In any case wouldn't removing federal power be the better option? Limiting the amount of control the legislation has on people so that corporations couldn't have direct control over how our laws are made to begin with?
>>
>>220209581
A campaign finance and lobbying system that puts hard caps on the amount that can be donated by one “citizen” that establishes a politician needs the support of more than one “citizen” in order to run an effective campaign. Ya know, how it used to work in this country.

So the the corporation just spends money on an independent campagin. Pays influencers to push a certain candidate. Has their employees donate to certain politicians. Pay people to attend rallies and marches for candidates. Provide venues free of charge for candidates as those wouldn't be campaign contributions. There are so many ways around that ruling. What do you do about those issues?

There's a subsect of political posters who automatically assume that everything in the system is being used against them by the other party and that their party has never and would never seep to that low. After all, why would profit driven companies ever spend money to influence laws that would benefit their profit?

Capitalism is flawed and so is communism. Furthermore, both capitalism AND communism have been used by kikes to promote their sinister agendas. And we don't even have REAL capitalism right now, we have CARTELISM. We have so-called 'private companies' that are controlled mostly by kikes and most governments in the world are also controlled by kikes (albeit from the shadows). And these kike-controlled so-called 'private companies' and kike-controlled governments are merely two different sides of the same coin, they're both parts of the same kike network. That's why it annoys me when people say ignorant shit like "Twitter doesn't have to provide its users with freedom of speech, since it's a private company." BULLSHIT! Twitter is just another part of the same kike network. WAKE UP, CAPITALISM SUCKS DICK BUT WE DON'T EVEN HAVE REAL CAPITALISM RIGHT NOW, JUST THE ILLUSION OF REAL CAPITALISM!!!!!

youre not wrong, but you also dont need anywhere close to this level of background knowledge
>This is clearer if you read any western philosophy from the post-WW2 era, specially from the "german" exiles of the inter-war period, though it is pretty boring topic.
to understand the book is about stalin. its about as heavy handed as it could possibly be. theres a stalin pig, a trotsky pig, a zhukov horse(? i think? its been a while since i read it), and the events that occur are basically 1:1 with the key events in stalins rise to power, combined with a general "muh pigs are hypocrites" timeline to drive the point home for children.
someone reading animal farm and being unable to recognise that means theyre either functionally illiterate, or have no knowledge of irl history whatsoever, and were too lazy/stupid to perform the slightest bit of reading into what the books about (though most copies these days probably come with baked in forewords/afterwords that explain "THIS IS ABOUT STALIN")

tl;dr: someone not knowing animal farm is explicitly about stalin outs them as either only pretending to have read it or being severely mentally retarded

>>220208552
