haven't seen Bone Tomahawk in 10 years, it's time.Might have to watch all 3 S. Craig Zahler movies. I've only ever seen each one once but remember them all being great.
You shan't forget her
>>220240464who?
>>220240298I like when Kurt Russell takes on cowboy roles
>>220240298There's something about that movie that just looks "off" to me. Maybe the camera they used or something

>>220232944Cute lead, decent film.
>>220241102I know what you mean. Rewatching it now, it does look "off" in some way. Cheap tv-movie but absolutely not.I'm loving this so far though, I remember less about it than I thought. Fucking Jack from Lost is one of the leads? Awesome.
>>220233700The ending is what divides people, I'm in the camp that it was great. Yeah it was slightly goofy but conceptually it's a perfect ending and I care more about that.
“Cute lead, decent film.”
>>220242427Hey it's you
>>220243324Sounds so pathetic.
>>220240298I think Brawl and Concrete are overrated, not bad but there's a certain amount of liberal self hate to the mythos of them.Bone Tomahawk though is a certified banger. I hope he returns to horror at some point. Apparently he wrote The Littlest Reich which is funny.
>>220243126She will look like this one day>>220242892
>>220240298>S. Craig Zahlerchud
>>220240464also starring Violet McGraw, and Evie Templeton.
>>220243554He's doing a new movie, western, The Brigands of Rattlecreek with Park Chan-Wook (Vengeance Trilogy korean man) directing, with everyones favorite Texas boy Matthew McConaughey. Hopefully that has some horror in it.

>>220239990Wolf Creek 3 is in production right now, it's actually habbening. Hope Mick goes out in a gunfight with police.
220244485You lost Gurpreet, we won. Show yourself out.
>>220243269I have to agree. It certainly ties into what it was going for. When the bomb went off, I was wondering if the immediate aftermath of that was Hell, as if they had all been transported there. In the end an abstract depiction of utter suffering and torture probably does more than an actual explicit depiction. It leaves the viewer with just a series of images and a sensation which they can then interpret.
Rewatch 10 years later. This is a 9/10
>>220244636Is Wolf Creek 2 worth a watch? I really liked the first one
In all seriousness, these thread have been infested with the wrong crowd aka faggots who just want to goon together and have barely any horror discussion, just posting of actresses and garish stuff characteristic of homosexual culture.>>220244811I admire its simplicity and Zahler's patience in developing the story, getting the most from what he had. True heir to Carpenter. By the way the same amount of time elapsed from his first movie to Drag me Across Concrete as it did from his last movie to now. In fact I think it's been like 60 percent of nothing in the timeline and it's increasing.
>>220239990Wolf creek is kino because it's a true story
>>220244812It's just as good, if not better. I might actually like 2 more. It lacks the shock-value of 1, because you know what's coming, but it's still savage
>>220244812Yep it's a lot of fun, leans into the horror element
>>220244719The "other realm" and noodly gods is a favourite of Shiraishi's, it pops up in a bunch of his works. I recommend watching the Senritsu series on youtube if you're looking for more, they're an hour long so more bite sized.
>>220245110Yes, I saw today when I was looking him up that there's a bunch of them. He's had a really prolific directing career. I'm looking forward to getting familiar with his stuff.
I liked this. Making you root for Scott's absolutely ass of a character was funny kek
>>220245181It's frustrating because a lot of it hasn't been released properly, there's been crowd sourced fan translations though like the ones on youtube.
>>220245233It feels like a suitcase that can barely close because of how many ideas are stuffed into it, but some of them are really good. The conquistador thread was pure movie magic.

>>220244636>>220244812the problem with wolf creek is that he's depicted as a rapist yet the movie cannot show sexual violence on screen (because jewish media is posited as an isis video - extreme violence, but not even a tit can come out) so you know that every action scene with a femoid is dictated by this understanding. everything in wolf creek is designed to avoid sexual violence.

>>220248888>Directed by James Kondelik>Almost two (2) hours long
>>220248955“Guests come in, people go crazy, death, and then all hell breaks loose”Fine enough one, but more carried by its violence, if you want a film like it that makes some more sense watch “Nine Guests for a Crime” 1977, same composer too
>>220248888And the asshole dude from The 100
Just watched Forbidden Fruits. It was better than expected, but felt more like a weird dark comedy (along the lines of something like Heathers) rather than a full-blown horror film. The witchcraft element was barely even there. Anyway I'm thinking of watching Undertone next, unless something better comes up.
>>220247905no its aston kucher
>>220249061Yeah, that's Richard Harmon. When I was watching Lowlifes I stood up and yelled "That's Murphy!" His Canadian accent was pretty noticeable in Lowlifes. I don't think he's a great actor by any means but I like him for some reason so I'm glad he's getting roles. Saw him in the last Final Destination movie also.
>>220249076
>>220249076Undertone isn't spectacular, but it has great atmosphere and photography, some effective scares, too. Absolutely worth watching.

>>220249431I'll probably give it a go. Bookmarked.
>>220239990I'm putting on Wolf Creek 2 now. I've been on an Aussie movie kick ever since I watched Wake in Fright a few days ago, which might as well be a horror movie
>>220249076>Cropping out Alexandra Shipp
>>220249762same goes for Picnic at Hanging Rock, which imo is one of the best films ever not just Australian.
>>220249762It's a solid sequel, pretty much on the level of the first movie if I remember correctly.

>>220252667Strange how hard of an italian following Patrick got, from a straight up rescore by Goblin to a ripoff sequel remake by Mario Landi of Giallo a Venezia, guess the Italians clicked with “The Psychic Killer but hospital bound”
>>220249762Finished the movie. Very enjoyable, and as has been said, it gets right into the action from the very beginning. It's essentially Micksploitation, just leaning on the character/actor for most of the film, more campy than truly tense until the final act. I find myself siding with the villain's motives. Foreign cunts should stay where they are. Tour your own cities, fuck off from mine.
>>220252667They starte filming this april, i hope he starts to do more.movies now, i liked a lot the three he has done so far
>>220252750Yeah bit of a chud leaning film, I doubt they'd make it now. Especially with the anti-cop opening and the lone wolf vs cop shootouts they've had.Hopefully they can stick the landing on the third one.

Alien Resurrection was about as good as I remembered. It's on the goofy side but looks amazing. Ripley's universal soldier routine is pretty eye rolling but works by the end of it.Might have to check out the directors other works, namely The City of Lost Children.

>>220244811Is this really a horror movie? The cover looks like a generic cowboy movie.
>>220253947It's a horror western mix, essential watching.
>>220253947I forgot about Bone Tomahawk, I was specifically binge watching westerns and was surprised when this movie turned into a horror. If anyone is interested in another good western horror, The Wind is very enjoyable.
>>220252841From the episode I saw, it's not perfect by any means, but it's more watchable than the recordings on Youtube. Clearly Ai upscaled, more smooth looking rather than a crisp, sharp picture. But assuming we'll never get a true HD remaster using the original tapes, this might be as good as it's gonna get. If the Ai upscaling bothers you, just stick to the DVDs.
>>220254114>The Wind is very enjoyable

>>220244811>>220253947Starts off horror, then the horror kinda goes away, then comes back strong in the 3rd act. Also just an all-around great film.
>>220254114I didn't like The Wind. Feminist "woman's trauma" horror isn't any better in the old west
>>220254153Yes I liked it. Which reminds me that you can not trust ratings of horror movies from film review sites.Horror is my favorite genre and I've found that the vast majority of good horror gets poor or average ratings.Horror that gets praised within pop culture is like white people tacos, delicious and will hit the spot. And horror that's loved by horror fans but gets review bombed is the actual good stuff. The authentic Mexican tacos you drunkenly buy from a food car held together with bungee straps, parked in front of some shitty rusting industrial warehouse, 3 am in the morning after leaving the strip club.
Welp it's the middle of the night. Time to watch Undertone.
