The Marvel Netflix shows were all bad. Yes, even Daredevil. But some how people felt that the casting was done right and something about the tone made people gloss over just how hollow, lame and trash it was. You should watch the first season of Punisher it's got some really cool moments. When it was a fresh interpretation I think Bernthal's Punisher was less disliked. Daredevil 2 was probably the best actual depiction of him. It had him actually murdering mob people, en masse and without remorse, literally being referred to as a force of nature by the cops. He went to prison and butchered people there, and he really stuck it to Matt, and he had a breakdown but it was more about the fact that he knew that despite all the killing, it would never be enough.

Punisher 1 was alright, but the problem is that it focused too much on Not The Punisher stuff, and more and more it began leaning into making Castle into a "human". The shows wanted him to have flaws, trauma, depression, grief, PTSD, whatever. They literally wanted The Punisher to have a "character arc" where he started the show as The Punisher, and ended the show as someone who had conquered his demons and no longer needed to be The Punisher and could go on to have a normal-ish life.

The problem is, that's not what anyone wants, and that's not who the character is. No one wants Frank Castle to have a house, to mow the lawn, and to go to PTSD support groups. No one cares how he's feeling or if he's growing as a person. The literal entire point of the character is that he is in an endless war, and he has nothing left except the fight. He's not supposed to have a "character arc". He's supposed to be the same fucking guy at the end of the series as he was at the beginning.

And that's why his character just sucked more and more over time, because it stopped being about the character and started being about change.
