>go back to reddít>and it's just the same exact shit you see on /hor/
>>220571116>Don't get me wrong, I love movies like Hereditary and Babadook. They did the "grief is the real monster" thing perfectly.these people are MORONS
>>220571143I like that shit too man. A lot of people do.
Hereditary and Babadook? My hecking favorite movies.
Working my way through the stuff I haven't seen on this listhttps://letterboxd.com/official/list/the-2010s-top-horror-films/Currently on #9, Take Shelter

>>220571237Inferior
>>220571116Stay there.
>>220571143Pathetic. Redditors are pathetic.
>>220571277some good kinos on that list, some less so. I haven't seen Take Shelter either. Let us know how it is.
>>220571409I've never even heard of it. It has Michael Shannon so I'm hopeful for it.
>>220571041Just watched the trailer for this. It looks like melodramatic trash. Not that I had high expectations for quirky nostalgiaslop directed by a Jewish transsexual, but hey... ya never know.
>>220571277Lmao at that list, glad I never subjected myself to troonbox
>>220571409>>220571450Take Shelter is a great film. Nearly flawless imo.
>>220571143those movies are solid, i could care less if redditors also like them they like almost everything
>>220571483They sure didn't like Dashcam kek
>>220571483> those movies are solidNo they are not, cuck.
>>220571277This is the worst list I've ever seen for anything ever.
>>220571632At least 9 of those films are really good.
Ash vs Evil Dead fucking rules, by the way.
>>220571277
>>220571632luckily I don't care about your opinion
>>220571483> those movies are solidThey are reddit slop, woman. >i could care less if redditors also like them they like almost everythingYou do care. You’re a redditor.

>>220571830Nta but you sound like a fucking retard. Maybe stop posting.
>>220571483Why are you so pathetic
Redditors breathe air. Should we commit sewer slide, bros?
>>220571886that's the problem with l*tterboxd, that heart button turns them all into performative social media comedians
>>220571631>>220571830>>220572007What mental illness makes you do this? Autism, OCD..?
>>220572038Nice try. You’re just like speaking in bad faith now. Reddit taste = slop, traumaslop, woke slop, deislop, femslop
>>220572065Those are not all me.
I've been telling that one anon that I'm gonna watch YellowBrickRoad for months now. So here goes.
Weekend is over, cucks don’t get to post on weekdays.
COMANCHE
>>22057097810/10 feet.
>>220571116Heredetary was actual monsters that just so happen to align with muh family drama. Glad to see that even redditors are sick of this gay pretentious shit
>>220571277I thought people were being edgy, but nope, this is legit the worst list I've ever seen
Gadonfag and Pissman have fucked this general beyond belief lately. Holy shit, neither of them never stop spamming 24/7.
>>220572065It's the director.
>>220572742it's been bad ngl
>>220572742What spam?
Nothing bad could possibly happen here
>>220572766The mentally retarded jeet spamming from his phone (You)
>>220572742Is Pissman the one who calls everything woke?
>>220572742NEET life is really only meant for trve aristocrats of the soul. degenerates like them should be locked in a camp and forced to break rocks with a hammer for 16 hours a day.
>>220572070>slop, traumaslop, woke slop, deislop, femslop/hor/ has the same exact taste. The majority just doesn't realize it.
>>220572878Pissman hasn’t posted here in a long time
>>220572898Shut the fuck up, it's obviously you when always parrot the same line.
>>220573183The fact is, there are quite a few mentally ill, jobless people on 4chan who spend literally all of their free time spamming various generals. Due to their low IQs and obsessive/compulsive behavior, anyone with half a brain would be able to identify their posts after just a day or 2 browsing whatever general the autist in question infests.
watch a movie bozos
>>220573270I'm still digesting Obsession
>>220573270Just watched picrel. Didn't even make it to the end. It's thoroughly amateurish.
>>220573262You must be one of those autists
>>220573357I've never spammed a general with variations of the same shit, day in and day out, so no, I'm not one of those autists.
>>220573396Stop lying, schizo.
>>220573262Shut up. You’re the loser. Stop shitting this place up. Also>>>>220573183
>>220573262Anonymous website, schizophrenic anon. You have no idea who is who.
>>220573424I see what you're attempting to do here, but it doesn't make sense since I've given you no reason to believe I'm schizophrenic or a spammer. You see, when you post stuff like, say, images of a particular actress every single day while saying essentially the same things in conjunction, you end up outing yourself as a specific poster. Or when you lurk a general 24/7 while responding to practically every film that's posted with the braindead critique "duhhh dats woke" - that's another way to expose yourself.
>>220573424Thanks for admitting I'm right and you're wrong. I accept your concession. Filtered. Reply more, I'll never see it.
Of course it's concessionfag. Hate that fucker
>>220573347This but it was Bodycam for me
>>220573597Oof yeah, that was real fuckin bad.
Watching picrel. Forgot how good it was.
>>220572894Cope, brokieNEETS are aristocrats
>>220573826>brown>can't readmany such cases
>>220573826>NEETS are aristocratsSorry, not when they fall into the "literally can't function in society" category.
>>220572827so where was real Nikki this whole time? Of course she was trapped in her own body, but the fact that the guy on the phone appeared to be with her makes me think she was suffering somewhere else at the same time, like in hell or a dungeon or something
>>220573859Only wagies need to “function in society.”
>>220573859Tbf, a lot of aristocrats can't function in society either. On a tangentially related note....
>>220574070Ain't no way that shit was good playa
>>220574070Seen that movie actually. Decent. One time watch. You think some guy who makes more sleeping than 99% of people make working wants to “fit into society?”
>>220574413intercourse (sexual)
>>220574107It was ok. Played like a made for tv movie though. Even has Gerald McRaney in it.And sweet monkey Jesus, I think I just randomly found that made for tv spooky romance movie I've been trying to find the name of for decades!

>>220574658Mexican. No.
>>220572800Is this from that Friday the 13th knock-off? Bloody Murder or whatever it is. Never mind I looked it up and it is actually from Friday the 13th. Bloody Murder has a similar scene with an archery range. I watched it at a friend's house many years ago as his big sister was over and put it on. I said "this is such a rip off" and she said "shut the fuck up". >>220574658Kiss with this
surprised how much I like Late Night With the Devil. kind of becomes a mess at the end though
Cabin Fever Patient Zero was surprisingly good until the latter half of the second act, and the entire third act, where it became apparent the director was intent on stretching the film past the 90 minute mark no matter what. There are a few scenes in particular that really stand out for being unnecessarily lengthened, sometimes it's even comical. Aside from that though it does not deserve so many 1 star and half star reviews on Letterboxd. Still a middling film but not a bad one. >>220575404Yep, for the most part that movie was great. I'll definitely watch it again eventually.
>>220575451The first Cabin Fever has some of the best body horror I've seen but the early 2000s humor hasn't aged well
>>220575404It's a movie with a good idea and terrible execution. They didn't know what to do with it past the basic premise.
>>220575404it's such a shame, there were multiple times it threatened to be chillingly scary and every time it pivoted into a comedic gag. could have been an actual goat found footage.
>>220575451It's no Ctizen Kane but underrated for what it is. The part that will always stick with me is that bloated zombie guy in the water. Like how disgusting his existence must be just dwelling in muck waiting to pop out. Very uncomfortable.
>>220570954what do we think bros? HOPE - from the people who made The Wailinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt7860xZFXk
>>220575570Looks kino, I stopped part way through so I don't spoil anything more.
>>220575579yeah i have no idea why it spoils so much unless there's more they aren't revealing
>>220575570Koreans are almost as generic as Indians. No ideas, no artistry in their cinema.
>>220575570If this movie is anything less than dope af, the trailer is highly misleading.
>>220572650>>220572800Watched it a few nights ago. Still enjoyable. But as time goes on I think the movie makers intended for ppl to realize that Jason actually did a few of the kills. Not just Mrs. Voorhees.
>>220572650>>220575814>>220572800Why does Letterboxd not like this movie? It's a classic. The canoe scene is one of the best jump scares of all time.
>>220570954Thoughts?
>>220575921poor man's widow's bay
>>220575959Extremely cucked opinion
>>220575921Persuade me to watch this.
>>220576108>Persuade me to watch this.Amanda Fix is in it!
>>220575870>Why does Letterboxd not like this movie?I dunno. I've never used it, personally.
>>220576126Ok well that's one point in favour of the show sort of. I guess I have nothing to lose if I just watch one episode as I am not doing anything else. >>220576167You aren't missing out, although it's a decent source of cringe reviews like the Bone Tomahawk schizocore manifesto.
>>220575870I imagine people go into it minking there about to see Jason Lives.
>>220576201*thinking, *they're. Was trying out speech to text..
>>220576201Jason Lives was the first Friday the 13th I saw as a kid. It was also around the time as the video game on the NES, so played that quite a bit too. I've come to enjoy the earlier movies more over the years. Especially 2.
I've seen 4,000 horror movies and I remember like 100 of them
>>220576510>4,000that is quite a lot
>>220573986The more I hear from Curry Barker in interviews, the more I realize there's almost no rhyme or reason for anything that happens in the movie. I still enjoyed it, though.
>>220576538It doesn't even matter if I can't remember 10% of them
>>220574107I'd put off watching Stonehearst Asylum because I figured it stars Kate Beckinsale and I hadn't heard of it, so there's no way it could be any good. It was, in fact, pretty good. Just not a big box office kinda movie..
>>220576549sometimes that's okay and works outit doesn't bode well for his future movies though
>>220576549>Curry Barker
>>220576613he looks like this lol
>>220576629wants to be the next quentin
>>220574624Nice, never heard of this. Added.
Did you guys enjoy The Neon Demon?I recently re-watched it and I loved it.
>>220577463What was your favorite scene?
>>220577511Absolutely when Elle is being painted on like a goddess by the pedofaggot. Like when she's on the set and playing model naked for him.
>>220577463Loved the visuals, hated the movie. Danes really always have to make the audience suffer for their own existencial crisis.
>>220577525Gross exaggeration of words but yes, great scene.
>>220577463Good visuals but that's about it, suspiria mogs it hard
>>220577463It was ok. Starry Eyes and that other one I can never remember the name of were better. The fame trilogy that came out around the same time.
>>220577602Agreed but it's almost not even fair comparing Neon Demon to Suspiria tbqh same with Starry Eyes
>>220577584>wordsWhich one? Pedofaggot? Did you get hurt? Idk lol>>220577539I mean, as an ispiration to Suspiria you can really see how they are linked though.>>220577602Visuals are goated yes, but there's also a lot of symbolism like the puma in the hotel room, the stuffed animals at the mansion, the cannibalism, the ritual, the pollution of innocent beauty getting in contact with the predatory industry. It has a lot to offer. Especially if one has seen Suspiria and can understand The Neon Demon better. It's a "horror" on the surface. Also the camera movements, frames through mirrors.. Or think about how all the fashion enviorments are almost all white or cold lighted to symbolize their emotionless. The purple palette in almost all the scenes, with the spikes of blue and red (suspiria influence).I thought it was a brilliantly realized movie. Not my favourite kind, but amazing to see and to rationalize.
>>220577645>Agreed but it's almost not even fair comparing Neon Demon to Suspiria tbqhRefn openly said Suspiria was an inspiration to Neon Demon and honestly you can see that. But The Neon Demon is its own thing and took a different route luckily. Suspiria was great, I saw it before Neon Demon by coincidence and I think it was almost mandatory for Neon Demon total enjoyment.
>>220577652>>220577645>>220577602We dont discuss cuckslop here

>>220577774
>>220577652I couldn't agree more. Refn did his own thing yet it's clear where he took influence from during the period he made Neon Demon, Drive, and Only God Forgives.>>220577751Excellent taste, anon.
The Mummy (2026) is out.https://gofile.io/d/ghmunw
Speaking of Refn, his new horror film starring Sophie Thatcher is premiering today at Cannes. What a coincidence…

>>220575570incoming kino>The WailingI suggest anons check out The Chaser as well
>>220575570looks cool, the city shots have a strong resident evil vibe. the early impressions seems positive although it is often pointed out the poor cgi

>>220578027enough with the neon lights brohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWqST_E9u_Q
>>220577645Suspiria is style over substance. Pretty colors and a good soundtrack do not make a good film.
>>220580779Never go full retarded faggot, anon.
reminder that harpertard is a schizo pedophile
>>220580779>>220580885The constant Jessica Harper, Suspiria, and Amanda Fix posting feels like a mentally ill man repeatedly surrounding himself with familiar images because they psychologically comfort him.
Anyone here of or see picrel? I like me a good period horror, but I'm conflicted about the premise>1859. When a young Māori woman is summoned from New Zealand to North Yorkshire, she uncovers her horrific colonial heritage and is compelled to confront and destroy the titled Englishman who devastated her family. Is it actually good or just "colonialism/wyat peepo bad"?
>>220581059>Is it actually good or just "colonialism/wyat peepo bad"?You're asking after reading that premise?
>>220581059Just that description is enough to make my eyes roll As if the maori werent colonizers themselves on top of being retarded cannibal savages
Long shot, but does anyone know that Lifetime movie (lol) about some guy who does "The Stepfather" thing but set in college?Kills his old family and everyone related to them and starts fresh somewhere with a new name?I remember watching it with my gran and it plays like a slasher even though it’s on Lifetime
>>220581331https://www.imdb.com/list/ls098190024/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Lifetime_(TV_channel)_filmsSift through all that and see if you can find it.

>>220581331When do you remember seeing it? That'll help narrow down the possible year it was released.
>>220581331Don't know the name of the movie but there's a 75% chance Eric Roberts plays the killer I bet
>>220578173the cgi is bad because Na Hong-jin had to rush the film for Cannes premiere, it will likely get polished for theatrical release

>>220581093>>220581126Idk, maybe it's the marketers doing their job to lure in the crowd they're after. Maybe the film itself isn't bad, that's why I'm asking here.
Watch Return of the Living Dead 3. Zombie Romeo and Juliet.
>>220582243it is an interesting take, it felt like it was influenced by the 90s grunge similarly to the crow

>>220582862now you made me wonder if there's any maori horror out thereother than the one anon posted that is
>>220583998Dunno about horror, but Once Were Warriors is damn brutal.
>>220583998Fresh Meat is a horror comedy about Jango Fett guy preserving his heritage.>>220584189Not really horror but The Dead Lands is sort of Maori Apocalypto.
>>220584189how does it compare with we were soldiers?
>>220577872ok that was really bad, close to the end i was wondering if they were gonna have the father jump out the window like in the original and seconds later i remembered that this wasn't an exorcist remake
>>220584189How does it compare with Universal Soldier?
>>220577872>shooting the whole film in ethnic and having the audience read subtitles all through the filmYeah, "wise decision".
>>220584727i don't think that's a major issue today since gen z always watch films with subtitles on
How long until we get auto-docs and shit like that from the Alien franchise?
>>220584830I thought gen z doesn't look at the screen while watching movies thats why everyone onscreen has to verbally describe what they are doing so the zoomers staring at their phones can follow along?

What was the point of the puppet?

Watched Skinamarink last night and I’m one of the people it really worked on. I get the mixed reaction surrounding it though.
>>220585283I found it incredibly boring. Now you should watch the pure brainrot that is Baby Invasion.
>>220571116>a movie where a monster is just a monsterliterally almost never happens and if it does it means the movie is shit. Monsters should always mean something. Otherwise why are they in a story?
>>220575404third act of that movie is utterly retarded
>>220585283i loved it too, i think it resonates with people that had siimilar experience as a kid, like waking up in the dead of night. The movie is of course too long but i'm glad it exists
>>220575404i never understood the hate for the last act, maybe it wasn't perfect but for me it worked, it just transitioned to a traditional style but it's not like the story went to shit

>>220582243That movie is insufferable, and I say that as a guy who likes Brian Yuzna. The protagonist is one of the most unlikable characters I've ever seen committed to a work of fiction. The number of people who he gets killed just because he refuses to take responsibility for his own dumbass actions is infuriating, and he almost gets away with it all, if he hadn't done himself in with one last dumbass action. That poor homeless black dude gets put through hell just for even bothering to try and help.

>>220590113My ex had BPD, and honestly it has nothing to do with sex. You would think it does and I wouldn't blame you for it, but the reality is that it's a game of extremes. The bad times, the tim s where she acts like a complete monster, those are matched in equal measure by her just being an extremely fun and exciting person to be around at different times. She was easily the funniest person I have ever met, and just talking with her was more fun than the vast majority of other things I could do with my time, honestly including sex. She was smart with a slightly chaotic streak and whether genuine or not, she shared much of my interests but with enough of her own opinions to where it felt genuine. As bad as the nightmare moments were, you start convincing yourself after a while that it's all worth it because nobody you met really connects with you on the same level. This is, however, absolutely not the case for anyone except their partner, because she'll just be outright fucking nasty to anyone who isn't you all the time. Sometimes you can gaslight yourself into thinking this too, is a perk.Anyway, it's been over a decade since I've spoken to her and I have a good life and happy relationship - but she still shows up in my dreams and I think about her sometimes just because of those good moments. It's like a drug, it makes you forget the horrors.
>>220591733bpd people often lack a personality and so mimic others hobbies and get really into them suddenly. to a nerd, this is fatal.
those men who cannot handle a bitch with BPD do not have depth or understanding of the human experience.
>>220592043Calm down, psycho.
>>220592074I'm just speaking facts, there's no need to get offended.
>>220591733I know what you mean about that good times being really good, because it would definitely be that for us kids too sometimes. A lot of laughs and highs, but then she would kick in your door the next morning screaming about something you said jokinly during one of the "good" times that you didn't mean anything by at the time, and she even laughed it off at the time, but had been quietly stewing over it for three weeks until it blows up in a random psychotic episode with no clear provocation. It made everything feel really unsteady and constantly uncertain, and you were sort of trained to never trust anything. Sure, times are good right now, but that rug not only can, but will get ripped out from under you at any moment. I've spent my entre life locked in that state of distrust of anyone and anything, and it has fucked up my ability to form lasting relationships to this day. All I can say is that I hope those "good times" were worth it for him, because when cancer came for him, I refused to speak to him up to his death. Sorry for the blog, but fuck it, this thread isn't exactly popping anyway.

But I am extremely tired and exhausted and I don't feel like talking all about it or arguing the subject.I'll never date another girl who doesn't exhibit some cluster B characteristics.

Watched nu Faces of Death.Honestly it was simply too mid, just like Psycho Killer. No wonder it didn't make a splash.Feels like being mid is the biggest sin a horror movie can commit nowadays. It had no business releasing on theaters.I actually liked the plapper main character and the villain, but for a Faces of Death remake it should have leaned in way more into schock value and gory shit, of which there is none sans the boxed corpse of the friend being dissolved in acid and I suppose the brain eating remake.
>>220593462>Feels like being mid is the biggest sin a horror movie can commit nowadays.Yes, we need more self-indulgently goofy horror movies rather than the bland, formulaic sloppa that is all too common.
>>220593462I didn't watch the remake because why in the fuck would I or anyone would want to watch a more lame version starring a literal fat women? That's lame as fuck.

>>220593297>popular consensus.popular consensus of american liberals who makes these kinds of lists, maybe. just as a horror film I always thought Get Out had a total letdown of a twist, i.e. the basement was kind of boring. also it still floats along on the hype around it at the time it came out.

>>220595071same but with charli xcx.she's gotta be the biggest chick to star in a mainstream horror in a while though. I guess she's famous from euphoria.
I watched "Lee Cronin's The Mummy" (2026). It was cheap. (Blumhouse, around 10 completely unknown actors, 3 locations, a handful of small, modest sets.) It was long, a fucking 131 minutes. I guess when you produce bulk streaming content instead of quality cinema entertainment, you get paid by the minute. So it just goes on and on and on.I didn't like it. It was gross instead of scary. I also didn't like that around 25% of its too long runtime I had to read subtitles to know what's going on, because Cronin didn't hire English speaking actors. That being said it's not a bad movie at all. Cast and crew are no amateurs and make very good use of the limited resources. The practical effects, the sound, the photography are great. I can see this movie earning its fair share of fans. I'm not one of them, but I would still recommend The Mummy 2026 to friends that don't mind gross "wet" horror films or reading through 35 minutes worth of subtitles.
>>220595117I refuse to watch it for the stupid titlewow this movie must really be directed by Lee Cronin, whoever that is
>>220595128I read that they did that because in some test runs cinema goers expected Brendan Fraser and were disappointed when they didn't get the 4th sequel to a light-hearted horror comedy.
I really liked Camila Marrone in "Something very bad is going to happen" like the show itself was mid as fuck, first few episodes were good and than it just sorta lost the plot.I think Camila has a lot of potential for final girl type rolls. Really really hopes she gets cast in more slashers in the future. Would LOVE to see her go topless.
>>220595117I had similar feelings. So many films lately are being destroyed by terrible pacing. It's not as simple as just editing them down, it has to be identified and fixed in the script. Worst culprits that made me want to scream GET ON WITH IT in theater:>The Mummy>The Substance>Weapons
>>220595208Yes, and it's not just horror, it's other movies as well. When movies were still produced for cinemas, they had to be around 90 to 105 minutes long because cinemas have a schedule, they charge per show. Now it seems to be all done for streaming, and I guess the streaming providers ask "how many minutes do you have for my shareholder statistics?". It absolutely destroys pacing, and I also don't want to sit through it, except for maybe a few very exceptional, epic films.
>>220595117>2 hours is considered long these daysI fucking hate zoomers.
>>220595208i don't think weapons was too long, the other two absolutely. The main problem is not how long they are but how little content there is in those two and half hours
>>220595273I don't mind long films, they just have to justify it.If anything horror should take advantage of a 1hr format. Milk & Serial and Chime are two recent ones I can think of.
>>220595296Dude, "The Mummy" is not Lord of the Rings, the story could absolutely have been told in 1 1/2 hours without losing anything.>>220595344I agree. Storytelling is a lost art. You used to want to entertain the audience, not bore it.
>>220595117>complaining about subtitles Jesus christ why would you share such an embarrassing admission of retardation
