Starlight's entire character arc is about overcoming her trauma, realizing there are still good people in this world, that she can be one of them, and finally standing up for herself. It takes her a long time to get there in the comics. In the show, that all happened in the first episode and then she had nothing left to do. Maeve was bland as shit in the comics and the show, but at least in the comics she had the feeling of an incredibly jaded supe who no longer believes it's possible to be good. Starlight helps her see that's not true, and she dies as a hero saving Starlight from Homelander. None of that shit happens in the show. Her character arc is "She is le gay...did you see she is le gay...and she lived happily ever after after being epic and saving everyone." There's a single episode where she drinks and it implies she has a drinking problem and it's never seen again. In the comics, she's always drinking. And Kimiko, think she was just called The Woman or something in the comics, was just friends with Frenchie. They were good friends and she never even spoke. In the show she has this really weird thing with him and also becomes just another dick joke dispenser as soon as she starts talking. Really baffling.

The ending really is worse than expected. Homelander doesn't snap once and wreck havoc on DC or Ney Work despite the entire series leading up to it, so you don't even feel the sense of justice that should come from a bully like him being severely humbled. I know V1 is just meant to make you "immortal" in the sense of you being ageless but it didn't amount to anything in the sense that it looked like it gave him a power boost. The fight against Homelander was worse than Soulja Boy in S3 too. Terror dying didn't even have emotional pay off because he was a complete non-entity throughout the entire run of the series, and nothing of value was really accomplished in the long run because Vought is still around.
Also why did Sister Sage skate on by without consequences? She's not a good person, not just by Season 4 and 5 but with Gen V Season 2 on top of that. She willingly helped Cipher (the admin of Godolkin and one of the many people that worked on V) with a plan that would have resulted in the university's students dying.
