I watched this and I liked it
>>223153626would have been better as a 1hr film. the concept was wearing a bit thin by the end.
>>223153655That's fair. I mean, you could tell how it was going to end by 20-30 minutes in. Still, I thought it was well done.
>>223153680It was a cool concept yeah. not sure if you know about cuckoo birds, but if you look them up their reproductive cycle is what the film is getting at
Evening Fixbros
>>223153728Yep, the opening sequence was a cuckoo pushing an egg and a chick out of a nest, and in the context of the story I took it to refer a corrupting or subversive outside influence destroying family bonds. I found that refreshing because so many films which deal with this subject matter treat family as inherent evil.

But being that it's part of ROTLD and followed the original pretty soon, it's really bad. It was also confused about what to be rated and who to appeal to, so it tries to be both a PG movie and an R movie, but fails at being enjoyable for either demographic.>>223156292Ironic considering the returning cast said it was a horrible experience and they couldn't wait to be done and get the fuck out of there (according to a retelling from James Karen and Thom Matyhews about a phone call to Don Calfa).

I watched "They Came From Beyond Space!" (1967) and man, it was as corny as the title sounds. Even though it's supposed to be science fiction horror, it's more funny and goofy.... and then there was the Paki with a colander on his head. Why? Because to save money on masks and makeup, the space aliens are pure mental energy and they occupy the minds and bodies of ordinary humans. And a colander made from silver protects against that. "But why silver?" the Paki asks. The professor replies "Because silver is opaque to ultraviolet radiation!" Honestly I thought they had stopped making this kind of schlock when the 1950s ended, but this film was made in England with big sets and a budget in 1967, and it was later picked up by (of course) Sony Pictures. Top kek!

>>223169429Are they really required to strike up small talk with every customer at their register? That's insane.
this is Roebuck kino right here
>>223169889jesus fuck you're retardedno they aren't required, it's just something to help pass the time because all they do is stand in the same spot for 8 hours and slowly go insane, chit-chatting with customers is a brief reprieve. get a job and work for some time before you post again.
>>223169889Supposedly they aren't "required" but "encouraged to engage" with customers.>Trader Joe's President of Stores Jon Basalone shared in Episode 15 of the Trader Joe's podcast that there are only three requirements employees are told to follow: be yourself, be genuine, and be nice. Basalone explained that interactions aren't scripted; in fact, the store doesn't even require cashiers to ask the standard, "Did you find everything you were looking for?" greeting common at many retailers. What's more important, Basalone said, is for the cashiers to be able to judge whether a customer is in the mood to chat, could use a compliment, or has too many things on their mind to engage in small talk. But out of all of the stores I shop at, TJ's is the only one where they will attempt to talk to me every single time, and almost always ask "what are your plans for today?"
>>223169706this is true. probably comes with age. looking around at the new stuff vs normal go-to stuff is educational and interesting. im not talking about some new meme flavor of fritos, im talking about a new potato salad recipe at the deli, seasonal flavor bacon slabs at the meat dept, trying a different premix bag of salad greens...

>>223169108Masterpiece. The only nostalgia cartoon I still watch every now and then, usually drunk. Sometimes an episode will pop in my head and I have to look it up. Like the one with this creepy fuck

>>223170513What do you mean? I sort by date, so it's whatever I most recently watched.
>>223170538I just watched some of the more horror themed ones. I don't think I've seen Grundelesque
I rewatched "The Mummy" (2017). This movie gets a lot of hate, and I get it. Technically it's well made, the shots and the special effects look beautiful. But it tries to be too many things at the same time, a horror movie, an action flick and a comedy. The action and the comedy don't work, sorry. Tom Cruise's army buddy (the guy from "New Girl") isn't funny, he's annoying and continues to be annoying even after he's killed off. And while we're already trying to accomplish too many things at the same time, why not try to shoehorn in even more Universal monsters, using Russel Crowe as Dr. Jeckyll to try to establish a "Universal Dark Universe" with a secret monster organization? Also the crusaders having visited not only the Holy Land, but also Egypt and Mesopotamia when they had no business there nor the resources to spare for those expeditions is a stretch. As is a propeller plane reaching England from Irak on the same morning and without refueling. But at least they halfway tried to explain why the plot takes place in London and don't just shoot in the California desert like Carl Laemmle did in the original mummy movies of the 1930s and 1940s.This could have been a good movie if it hadn't been an Alex Kurtzman project. In Europe this movie's rating is 12 years and older, so there's probably some 14 year old fans out there who still love it. It gets a meagre 4.5/10 from me.

Trying my luck here. Has anyone seen the movies 'Night watch / Day Watch' with the animated subtitles? It was really unique the way russians incorporated scenes to animate the text. Like if the scene had a bathtub and text would dissolve like liquid particlesI'm trying to find a copy with those subs
>>223170826This movie was dead as soon as the fucked up trailer came out. impossible to take it seriously after hearing that scream twice.
Tentative watch list for tomorrow morning:>As The Gods Will>Gamaland>La Parte Oscura>One Minute
>>223163328I wish the whole show was like those two episodes and they didn't try to do the whole overarching historical plot
>>223161554ICM is not a good movie and I hate all your faggots that keep perpetuating this mythClint Howard's performance is great but literally everything else about the movie is terrible
>>223170826If anything, it was trying to half be capeshit to kickstart the "dark universe".I remember the underwater zombies were surprisingly well done though
>>223171102I have seen. Great films. Read the books. The world is interesting and thought out enough it would actually make a good franchise.
>>223171270>I wish they didn't try to do the whole overarching historical plotThis but for every show made in the last decade.
>>223155039It was incredibly boring. 2 episodes of plot over how many episodes it turned out to be
So it takes place in 1971 when Jason drowns, which is completely different from the movie when he drowns in 1957. Seems they changed the date so they could add in blacks and make it more hippie focused.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs49eRHFD9c
>>223160194Iron Lung is actually the best movie on this poster. I'm not saying it's good, but it's the best one out of those.
>>223160194Liked Talk To Me and Obsession, hated Backrooms. I haven’t seen and know nothing about the other two

>>223171492Honestly looks boring. Cardellini is too cute for the role as well, even though I'm sure she's great in it.
>>223171102>I'm trying to find a copy with those subsdoesn't exist, you have to either stream it legitimately (good luck since all subs were borked years ago and replaced with standard titles) or find a dvdreally surprised they never did the third book or rebooted it
What /hor/fu has the best eyebrow game?
>>223171492this is a non-canon series since it's under victor miller's new jason universe bullshit, so you can ignore the retconsalso there's more leftover shit from the 70s still around so it's easier for hollywood to replicate it
>>223171625Everything I've heard about Backrooms makes me think it's not my kind of movie, but I thought Talk to Me and Obsession were excellent. Iron Lung is based on an indie game, and both it and Shelby Oaks are only notable because they were made by large youtube creators.

>>223171902Miller needs to die, and soon. It's the only way a real Friday the 13th will get made.
>>223171935i agree, that judge was an idiot to split the franchise between the two. miller is old and will probably kick it before cunningham does. by law sean should absorb the remaining control but it would be really funny if victor left his half to some random shmuck as a final fuck you.
