Yep, the opening sequence was a cuckoo pushing an egg and a chick out of a nest, and in the context of the story I took it to refer a corrupting or subversive outside influence destroying family bonds. I found that refreshing because so many films which deal with this subject matter treat family as inherent evil.

>did you see the scene where one of the egyptian guy hurts himself badly and can't keep it contained
Yeah, he didn't notice it, but I did and pointed out it to him.
He named the blonde "vampire" as "Mr. Decadence", due to a degenerate club called "Decadence" (pic related) near where we live; somebody he knew went there and saw somebody dressed with a Dracula's mantle and fishnet, so it made him think of that.
Also, the woman doing the "Princess of Darkness" clearly inspired Elvira: she had similar clothes, mole, and even a knife on her belt.

If it were some standalone movie and not part of the ROTLD franchise, I'd call it an okay but very schlocky 80s zombie movie. But being that it's part of ROTLD and followed the original pretty soon, it's really bad. It was also confused about what to be rated and who to appeal to, so it tries to be both a PG movie and an R movie, but fails at being enjoyable for either demographic.

>>223156292
Ironic considering the returning cast said it was a horrible experience and they couldn't wait to be done and get the fuck out of there (according to a retelling from James Karen and Thom Matyhews about a phone call to Don Calfa).

I watched "They Came From Beyond Space!" (1967) and man, it was as corny as the title sounds. Even though it's supposed to be science fiction horror, it's more funny and goofy.

... and then there was the Paki with a colander on his head. Why? Because to save money on masks and makeup, the space aliens are pure mental energy and they occupy the minds and bodies of ordinary humans. And a colander made from silver protects against that. "But why silver?" the Paki asks. The professor replies "Because silver is opaque to ultraviolet radiation!" Honestly I thought they had stopped making this kind of schlock when the 1950s ended, but this film was made in England with big sets and a budget in 1967, and it was later picked up by (of course) Sony Pictures. Top kek!

Another 3 movies to add to my autism sheet:

>Black Mountain Side
This is the longest 98 minute movie I've ever seen. The pacing is very slow and it's kind of a take on The Thing. While I did like it, it's only slightly above average. Would do well for background viewing on subsequent watches.

>The Dark Tapes
It grew on me, but I fucking hate the whole camera distortion shit, it ruins all scares as it's a tell. Again, another slightly above average movie that could have been better.

>The Unsolved Love Hotel Murder Case Incident
Setup lasts 45 minutes before anything happens. You piece together the full event by the end of the movie. It's just really slow to get going. Is the pay off worth it? I'm not sure. 50/50 movie.

But none of those things you said are true. Also, the scene you're referencing might have been effective if it hadn't been copy and pasted multiple times into the movie without really any variance.
I feel like I'm in crazy town talking to you psychos, this is genuinely like someone arguing that The Room is a good movie except The Room is actually better because at least it's entertaining. >video "my top 20 satanic horror movies"
>19th place is "The Ninth Gate"
>places 18 - 2 are hit or miss, some extremely low budget productions among them
>one of them is a Rob Zombie movie about witches - so that his wife can star in it - it's got nothing to do with satan or satanism at all
>number one film is "The Omen"

If that video had at least given me a few suggestions what to watch. I knew every film on that list except for one, and that one was shot on video with a shakey cam and no budget. Most of the others I wouldn't call "satanic". (Like for example "The Sentinel" or "Angel Heart".)
>>
>>223167494
What would you consider Satanic horror movies? And what was the low budget film you hadn't heard of?
>>
>>223167494
The Lords of Salem is my least favorite Rob Zombie horror flick
>>
>>223167585
>What would you consider Satanic horror movies?
Films about satanic cults or devil worship. The Devil's Rain, The Ninth Gate, The Devil Rides Out for example. They were in that list.

>And what was the low budget film you hadn't heard of?
You know, I completely forgot about the title as I wasn't going to look it up anyway. I'd have substituted it for another low budget movie that was at least shot on film and had an interesting concept: "Satanic" (2016).

>>223167657
I think I only know "The Lords of Salem" from him and "Thanksgiving". I kind of liked "Thanksgiving" - I could see why a mysterious serial killer would want to kill those entitled brats that caused a stampede that killed people.

>>
>>223167494
How is Angel Heart not satanic? Also the original book Falling Angel is much better
>>
>>223167765
If you're into that kind of thing. It's a mockumentary with the frame narrative that it shows you a film that causes some kind of violent mass psychosis. It features a lot of overt Satanic symbolism and a sacrifice ritual. It's a fairly slow burn innawoods movie. I watched it before bed and it gave me weird nightmares. I liked it a lot.
>>
>>223167802
Except for maybe the last 10 minutes, Angel Heart is a detective story. Only in the very end it turns out that Johnny Liebling has sold his soul to the devil.

>>
>>223169889
Supposedly they aren't "required" but "encouraged to engage" with customers.
>Trader Joe's President of Stores Jon Basalone shared in Episode 15 of the Trader Joe's podcast that there are only three requirements employees are told to follow: be yourself, be genuine, and be nice. Basalone explained that interactions aren't scripted; in fact, the store doesn't even require cashiers to ask the standard, "Did you find everything you were looking for?" greeting common at many retailers. What's more important, Basalone said, is for the cashiers to be able to judge whether a customer is in the mood to chat, could use a compliment, or has too many things on their mind to engage in small talk.

But out of all of the stores I shop at, TJ's is the only one where they will attempt to talk to me every single time, and almost always ask "what are your plans for today?"
>>

I rewatched "The Mummy" (2017). This movie gets a lot of hate, and I get it. Technically it's well made, the shots and the special effects look beautiful. But it tries to be too many things at the same time, a horror movie, an action flick and a comedy. The action and the comedy don't work, sorry. Tom Cruise's army buddy (the guy from "New Girl") isn't funny, he's annoying and continues to be annoying even after he's killed off. And while we're already trying to accomplish too many things at the same time, why not try to shoehorn in even more Universal monsters, using Russel Crowe as Dr. Jeckyll to try to establish a "Universal Dark Universe" with a secret monster organization? Also the crusaders having visited not only the Holy Land, but also Egypt and Mesopotamia when they had no business there nor the resources to spare for those expeditions is a stretch. As is a propeller plane reaching England from Irak on the same morning and without refueling. But at least they halfway tried to explain why the plot takes place in London and don't just shoot in the California desert like Carl Laemmle did in the original mummy movies of the 1930s and 1940s.

This could have been a good movie if it hadn't been an Alex Kurtzman project. In Europe this movie's rating is 12 years and older, so there's probably some 14 year old fans out there who still love it. It gets a meagre 4.5/10 from me.
