Just finished a double feature.Genuinely one of the more bizarre movies I've seen. It's amazing this movie exists but its still watching a guy wiggle around in a whale's digestive tract and I hesitate to call that fun. They play the nitrogen narcosis card as a "we can do anything we want" pass during the climax and boy is what they decide to do with it weird. They have him believe the spirit of his dad is inhabiting the whale and it talks him through the process of killing it. Also they get rid of the squid almost immediately, the whale swallows it after a minute and that's that. Abrams does the same shit he does in other movies and screams and panics a lot. Elisabeth Shue is briefly in this and looks incredible.
