Just finished. 100<100 #027okay, I cheated on this one, it's got 130 views, but I had to watch it, c'monObviously, it isn't about trannies. It's a bargain version of something like The Bone Collector, but the production value is way above the other crap I've been watching, it seems like they got actual actors. Wouldn't be surprised if it's budget was around $500k. Some serial killer is taking out junkies and other "undesirables" and a female author is hunting him down. Half the movie is about her drinking problem and in the end it's what saves the day, lol (she hides a bottle from her husband and ends up using it to bonk the killer on the head, lol) In the end the killer isn't the guy she thought, but her husband is.trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x7hLsyUzXU

>>223904085Anon, Eyes Wide Shut had a budget that was approximately 1000x larger.Starry Eyes was actually a crowdfunded film. And imo is kino, though perhaps you have to be into lesbians.

Watched Lips of BloodI liked this. Jean Rollin films are always very different in a good way. Lots of naked vampires running around in this and I loved the ruins setting. The ending was not what I was expecting either.

The Pagemaster left a big impression on me as a kid, especially the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde sectionhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ88V__MLv0
>>223904796Because it's faster. No one can be bothered, especially after already devoting three syllables to the first part alone.
>>223904826this is why horror movie titles are one word nowadays. the ones that are two words or more flop

>>223904862You've got them mixed up
>>223904870no, you're thinking of Bela Luigi
>>223904856There is almost never a need to refer to the doctor, because the only character that is important is the monster (except Igor, because he's funny looking). If you do feel the need to mention him, then they will was doctor Frankenstein, but it will be a big pain in the ass to mention. But honestly, you can say Victor instead.

>>223904904No one will ever mention Victor without first mentioning the monster or Igor. There is no reason to. He exists purely as a plot device for the monster to exist.
>>223904814the Van Helsing version of Mr. Hyde made such an impression on me that I spent about a decade telling people I was going to draw my own graphic novel of the Stevenson story, which of course I never did.
It’s very reddit to ironically make the Frankenstein/Frankenstein’s monster distinction, but it is important and necessary. No one who has read the book would refer to the monster as Frankenstein. Laziness is not a noble and worthwhile trait. Ignorance is not a virtue.
>>223904916The novel/movie is about Victor Frankenstein and what he created. The Bride of Frankenstein is about the woman that Victor Frankenstein made for his monster. Son of Frankenstein is about Victor Frankenstein's biological son.

Just finished. 100<100 #029Canadian vanity project for writer/director/star Ryan LaPlante, who seems to be some low level character actor in Ontario. A super naive priest is visiting a family when they are randomly home invaded and brutally murdered by the family of a psycho crime boss. He's shot six times but survives and comes back as a ruthless vigilante who renounces God and calls his gun "The Lord". It aims for early Troma edginess and irreverance and does a pretty damn good job. The family members are all insane perverts who fuck each other and kill their own henchmen regularly for no reason. One is a wacky tranny named Sissy who has a "He/She army", so you do get a scene where a priest guns down a whole gang of trannies, lol. I'm still working on that presentation for my girlfriend's Halloween party. I'm thinking about doing a voiceover and uploading it to YouTube as one of those quiz games. Do you think that's cringe?
Halloween is cancelled
>>223908025I also have a soft spot for the conjuring movies
>>223908240Grown ass adults with no children crashing out over trunk or treat will always be funny.

>>223908341which is why you're never invited to work parties, or any parties for that matter
Is Dagon worth watching? I think I half-heartedly watched it during a Robert Kinoplex stream a couple Halloweens ago and I honestly don't remember a single thing about it.

>>223908531That dude is really doing fucking HOMEWORK and stressing about creating a PRESENTATION for someone else's work party. I was wrong to try and help him. He doesn't want help. Other anons were right for abusing him.Let him suffer.
>>223907807Insidious 1 and 2 is peak paranoia but the rest are just formulaic slop
>>223908361Well, to answer your question; No, It is not supposed to be a twist.
>>223908488I don't remember anything specific beyond really enjoying it. Worth a watch for sure.
>>223907870sounds like you were made for each other by the literal devil

I watched "The Empty Man" (2020). This isn't horror, it's a test of patience. How was this a _series_ of comic books? How? How was this made into a movie? It was an interesting idea, but that does not fill 2 hours and 17 minutes of runtime. Yes, it is well made, yes, it is atmospheric, and some may even mistake it for being "deep". But all it does is throw some mysterious ideas at the viewer that don't go anywhere, like a David Lynch movie. (He did that better btw.) So just like the "Empty Man" concept, this is sort of an empty movie. I can see how some people like this film, it wasn't for me, though. De gustibus non disputandum.
Is Cube /hor/-approved?
>>223909111this is a cube 2: hypercube neighborhood
>>223909127Okay, tranny
Watching some old school Jap horror!
>>223909052empty man is kino, and the comics are even better.
>>223909052It's the only effective cosmic horror tale in film form in existence.
ok just finished watching the last Insidious movie. I will say it's better than I thought it would be, but still pretty basic normie horror fare. The pillow fort sequence was pretty awesome though
>>223909052shut the fuck, it's kino
>>223902301>title is old English “Man”Seems silly
>>223909250i dont think that's correcr

>>223909483I can't handle horror games, they turn me into a huge pussy. Even the cheesy ones like OG Slenderman.
>>223909483still need to try Hellraiser. will play Madison, Signalis, Fatal Frame, RE4 if i can fit it in.
is Donnie Darko /hor/? The scene where he's like "I think...you're the fucking Antichrist" lives rent free in my head
>>223909669first step to asking if a film is /hor/ is to go to the wikipedia page and see what genres it's listed underthe only faggots that do "horror-adjacent" type shit are redditors, we don't do that nonsense heredonnie darko is a sci-fi movie first and foremost, and a thriller second. it also helps to actually watch the movie instead of just sitting around on a board discussing it. make sure you watch the director's cut.
