Currently watching Venom (2005). Feels like a later installment of an '80's slasher franchise, but it's just a standalone monster/man flick. The atmosphere is nice and spooky and it's competently shot, but the kills are kinda lackluster. Plenty of hot girls in it, though.

Just finished. 100<100 #039
This starts with one fish explaining to another what "spoopy" means (he gives the wrong definition) and then what memes are. I'm not kidding.
then the two swim around asking about The Halloween Shark, whose legend must be told only in parts, otherwise the Halloween Shark will come and eat you for telling it. they spend a half hour going from one fish to another getting the story in chunks, and then once it's over, two NEW fish show up who want to hear the story and the movie basically starts over. The movie is nothing but fish talking to each while they bob up and down, the only animation is lipsync. And in the end it turns out the shark from the story is some shark they're already friends with, so the whole conceit of needing the story broken up to prevent getting eaten is bullshit.

It was decent but feels like as it went on it lost a bit of the creepiness to the chtlulu trope stuff that's played out. I think I liked it enough to want it to have been better.

it's a love it or hate it kind of movie, seemingly. I didn't like it at all, but I've seen very positive posts about it here. it's basically a one-woman show, just her home alone with her comatose mom and talking to some guy on the phone.

I think it could go either way honestly. I personally consider the first Brendan Fraser Mummy action adventure horror with some comedy. For me it sits at the border somewhere between Sleepy Hollow and Pirates of the Caribbean. That part where Imhotep gets burried alive in the sarcophagus and a bucket of flesh eating scarabs gets poured all over him before sealing the lid still gets to me.

Just finished. 100<100 #041
Father and daughter escape from a mental hospital and drive to a nature trail park 100 miles away, and proceed to indiscriminately murder everyone they run across there. Whole thing is set at the park in broad daylight and I imagine the shoot took two days, tops. All the dialogue is clearly improvised. It's very repetitive and anytime anyone kills someone else they tend to say "game over, bitch!" It happens so often they put it on the poster, lol

Alright /hor/s, I saw part of a movie on a rando stream awhile back. It looked kinda low budget. I believe it was a fake documentary, maybe mockumentary, of a film crew following an aspiring Jason/Michael Myers-type slasher. It ends with him killing the crew, of course. None of my queries have had enough information to identify it. Name that film.

Not him, but in Temple of Doom a Kali priest rips a guy's beating heart out plus another guy ends up in burning lava. The dinner scene ("monkey brains!" / "snake surprise") might also be icky for some people.

>>223961046
The movie is much sillier than the first one. The script is full of plot holes and lacks any witty lines. But, all in all, it’s not bad.

Don't forget about the malnourished child slaves being forced to dig in the underground mines getting whipped by adults if they didn't comply as well as the child Prince being mind controlled to do evil things. I honestly think Temple of Doom on its own even without Gremlins being released in the same time period would still have led to the PG-13 age rating to be created ultimately.
