What did everyone end up watching as their halloween night movie(s)?

We watched pic related. I don't think my gf was expecting something so off the walls but I think she came around in the end. She cheered when they opened the portal anyways.

What a great fucking movie.

Psycho at the cinema, it's such a great film until the silly lecture at the end
honestly could be the best film I've ever seen before that scene, but the talk from the psychiatrist took the wind out of its sails
still loved it, but it only reinforces my opinion that The Birds was Hitchcock's better horror film

Watching "Deep Rising" (1998), a very 90s horror movie. So far pretty amusing. They hint at something lurking in the deep, deep depths of the Chinese Sea, something has hit a casino cruise ship, and a Chinese lady sitting on a toilet has been sucked into the toilet and squished.

Oh, and Swann from Lord of Illusions is there and plays a stupid and nosy ship repair man.

Realistically speaking, a lot of people in this thread may be dead before next Halloween. Maybe even for you or for myself, this may be our final Halloween. If that's the case, then whoever survives, please keep Halloween in your hearts for the departed. i dreamt of a horror kino that may or may not exist!
>be family living across from another
>the two houses are separated by a hedge
>for a while family from side B has been unresponsive for a few months
>cut to side A parents having sex
>youngest son walks in acting funny
>he’s sick like having boils and blisters everywhere
>bring to ER, nothing major
>wife blames husband for no reason
>they have sex again
>wife says something about cumstains on sheets
>husband makes remark on side B family
>hey hon did side B family always had a daughter?
>somehow he can see across the hedge
>zoom in to an exorcist like girl in bed smiling all grimly
>ermmm idk hon did they?
>a week passes
>weird things habbening around the house
>cut to parents have sex again at night
>hey hon she’s still watching us
>ok that’s it
>wife storms out and walks across the hedge yelling at them telling them to fuck off
>a huge rumble occurs
>the broken whittled down fence shakes
>a headless dogs comes out
>a weird child with the face of justin long was also there smiling all creepily
>he somehow has their youngest child with them
>mom freaks out MY BABY MY BABY GIVE HIM BACK
>dad runs down
>headless dog starts barking
>justin long kid says we like this kid, we have five you have three now (I guess he was family about family size)
>kill one of your own (or something) and you can have him back we really like him though so hurry up
>creepy family go back in the house
>side A family need to decide what to do
Does this horror movie exists /tv/ or did I just dreamt of the next horror kino?

I watched fifty Shocktober movies this year, and I wrote almost 25,000 words of reviews on them -- justifying my rankings and including notes for future reference. Here's the roundup:

>Hot Garbage
NONE this year!

>Weak Worth a Watch
Night Vision (1987)
The Ghost (2024)
Blue Monkey (1987)
The First Power (1990)
Loft (2005)

>Strong Worth a Watch

Final Destination (2000)
V/H/S (2012)
Mind Killer (1987)
Haze (2005)
Burial Ground (1981)

Backrooms (2026)
Count Yorga, Vampire (1970)
The Return of Count Yorga (1971)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920)
Frighmare (1981)

>Excellent!
Shadow of the Vampire (2000)
Mill of the Stone Women (1960)
A Chinese Ghost Story (1987)
The Deadly Spawn (1983)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
Beyond the Darkness (1979)

I find that unless you're watching some 2026 Z-grade YUCK YUCK, SO BAD IT'S GOOD! stuff shot on a phone (like Popeye the Slayer Man), almost *everything* has a little something in it to provoke interest.

So Shocktober is over, but THE SEASON OF CELLULOID marches on! Today is the first day of Noirvember, and then it's Explocember -- where I watch action movies every day! Shocktober is usually the biggest: I probably won't try to get more than forty movies each in Noirvember or Explocember.

My first film for November will be: The Fly 1986, followed by Thanksgiving (2024). Since Christmas is comong soon, ill end it with Christmas Evil (1980)

Make sure you watch the sequels too. Joey Wong is in all of them, and 3 has Jet Li's wife as her sister/rival. Still lots of action and great practical effects

Halloween was a complete waste of time anyway. Imagine being so desperate for external validation that you dress up and spend time with people who supposedly like you. >Ted hasn’t been himself since his cat died. A kittie camgirl helps him through most nights, but he needs more. He’s got a cat mask but his grief demands other paraphernalia. For this, he’s got this creative guy who brings his designs to life. These include paws and a giant cat cock with barbs that gets Ted groaning purrs. Armed with them, he hunts women before draining their blood into jars and collecting their heads.

I have decided that my Halloween experience was actually a profound meditation on alienation, in the tradition of Eraserhead. The stale takeaway containers beside my bed represent the decay of modern society. The mould on my wall represents the indifference of the universe. The fact that nobody called me represents nothing whatsoever. Stop laughing, Parker. I know you're in here. By here, I mean my head.

I am UNKEKED. I am free from the need for affection, companionship, romance, or friendship. I spent Halloween alone because I am superior to people who need others to enjoy themselves. The fact that I'm furious nobody invited me anywhere is a separate matter, and I will not be taking questions. The Babadook is underrated.

You people don't understand the psychological depth of The Thing. The real monster is conformity. The real monster is society. Anyway, I have created a new alt because the old one was banned for reasons that remain a mystery to me.

They did a clever thing early on by having a caller point out the mystery figure in the first scene, because after that you expect to see him everywhere and you're always looking around the frame. Sometimes he really is there in the background but most of the time it's just you being paranoid.

OK, I finished "The Lords of Salem" (2012) now, and I didn't find it as good as I had remembered it. There's almost no plot besides there's a witches' curse and progressively witchy stuff happens around the director's wife and main actress. In the end they went for "striking visuals", but that's about it. I'm not even sure the story made sense. Who made the record? Was there even a group "The Lords" -- they were supposed to give a free concert, but then everybody died? If the curse was the ancestor of the 1680s witch hunting reverend shall bear a child that is satan, where was that child in the end? Or was that that thing with the tentacles in the final vision?

Well, it was an entertaining evening. Good night.

I went into it not being a fan of this whole Backrooms "property" and the deluge of awful games and web stuff. However, I really liked it, the director actually has his head on his shoulders, he gets what it ought to be focused on. He could have just done a bunch of lame ass "entities" popping up one after the other for the little fanwiki fanatics to point and clap at, but he ignored all that and focused on what the Backrooms' relationship to the character is.
