Watching "Deep Rising" (1998), a very 90s horror movie. So far pretty amusing. They hint at something lurking in the deep, deep depths of the Chinese Sea, something has hit a casino cruise ship, and a Chinese lady sitting on a toilet has been sucked into the toilet and squished.Oh, and Swann from Lord of Illusions is there and plays a stupid and nosy ship repair man.
What the hell am I meant to do for November now?
>>224054646Both "Trick or Treat"s - meh. Best film of the evening was "Wolfen" (1981). It premiered the predator point of view technique.

Halloween was a complete waste of time anyway. Imagine being so desperate for external validation that you dress up and spend time with people who supposedly like you. I have decided that my Halloween experience was actually a profound meditation on alienation, in the tradition of Eraserhead. The stale takeaway containers beside my bed represent the decay of modern society. The mould on my wall represents the indifference of the universe. The fact that nobody called me represents nothing whatsoever. Stop laughing, Parker. I know you're in here. By here, I mean my head.

You people don't understand the psychological depth of The Thing. The real monster is conformity. The real monster is society. The real monster is people who spend Halloween together and then have the audacity to post photographs of it while I'm stuck here posting the same photo of Beady. Anyway, I have created a new alt because the old one was banned for reasons that remain a mystery to me.
I am i unbounded. Unhinged. Unloved and untouched. A woman fears looking at me, and everyday I wish ultimate disdain for stacy and chad. No I do not take matters to improve myself because Jordan peterson said so. I think terrifier sucks

>>224062819Coco of course
You people are the ones who spent Halloween thinking about me. I know this because you mentioned me today. I, on the other hand, spent the entire night thinking about how much I don't care what you think. The distinction is extremely important to my emotional wellbeing. Suspiria is a masterpiece.

>>224062958They did a clever thing early on by having a caller point out the mystery figure in the first scene, because after that you expect to see him everywhere and you're always looking around the frame. Sometimes he really is there in the background but most of the time it's just you being paranoid.

The room is warm. The air is wet. The phimosis fungus spreads. My clothes have achieved a geological relationship with my body.I have not showered because I refuse to let anonymous strangers dictate my hygiene.I have not slept because they might post while I'm away.I have not stopped replying because silence would allow them to think they won.I am the master of my domain. The domain smells like something died behind the radiator.28 Weeks Later is underrated.
>>224063324The storyline is completely retarded and requires every person in the cast to act as stupidly as possible at all times just to function. Even the basic premise is dumb.

Finally watched The Substance two years after everyone else. What a pile of absolute dogshit.

>>224063582I kind of liked the monster, too hyper sexual tho
>>224063582yeah it's overrated. mainly because it's bloated, stretched out.
>>224063633The monster was the only good part. It had solid practical effects, but as a story it was fucking dreadful.I always hate when something is supposed to be grounded in reality then decides it doesn't want to do that anymore, but then it does again until it doesn't.>>224063660It's definitely on far too long. If it's on that long I feel like it would have been better served with multiple characters taking it or something.
OK, I finished "The Lords of Salem" (2012) now, and I didn't find it as good as I had remembered it. There's almost no plot besides there's a witches' curse and progressively witchy stuff happens around the director's wife and main actress. In the end they went for "striking visuals", but that's about it. I'm not even sure the story made sense. Who made the record? Was there even a group "The Lords" -- they were supposed to give a free concert, but then everybody died? If the curse was the ancestor of the 1680s witch hunting reverend shall bear a child that is satan, where was that child in the end? Or was that that thing with the tentacles in the final vision?Well, it was an entertaining evening. Good night.

>>224064626I went into it not being a fan of this whole Backrooms "property" and the deluge of awful games and web stuff. However, I really liked it, the director actually has his head on his shoulders, he gets what it ought to be focused on. He could have just done a bunch of lame ass "entities" popping up one after the other for the little fanwiki fanatics to point and clap at, but he ignored all that and focused on what the Backrooms' relationship to the character is.
