All the 3H anniversary art and the HotD/Hedge Knight news had me thinking.Do you think there's a third Seiros weapon out there? We only ever really see Seiros wielding her sword in historical contexts and for funsies in contemporary times, and it doesn't look like the one on Wilhelm's statue, which for a holy knight has a more heroically fitting conventional straight-bladed knight's sword rather than a flamberge.And then there's another red and gold statue in Three Hopes posing with an axe, and given the other sacred weapon's name, Labraunda, derived from Zeus, son of Rhea, it wouldn't too much of a stretch to assume this one was Wilhelm(and possibly Seiros)'s son Lycaon who closed off that legendary war a thousand years ago.Lot can happen in a thousand years, maybe it just got lost somewhere. Macuil and Indech made shitloads of weapons we never saw.Also just giggling at the idea Seteth authorized Jarngreipr, some weird spike-knuckle gauntlet monstrosity.

>>4262869Everything else about Engage aside, I'd say its main problem was that even with infinite yuri since Alear has no limitations on what girls she can marry, you get yuri dilution since its ostensible poster heroine(Veyle) for the MC to play off of has little focus for most of the game vs Edelgard who's right there in the tutorial fight and was the focus of so much of the game's advertising, or Azura who holds pride of place in the center of the main Fates banner and is an early companion in all routes.But then you have cover heroines like Lucina who only shows up every once in a while in the first half of Awakening, then once she joins Chrom's army as a playable character her plot relevance utterly craters and she just occasionally gives color commentary while Chrom battles Valm and Plegia, and the game doesn't even care if she "dies" in combat vs the other lords, or Lyn who's been hard carried to this day by being babby's first waifu. Any other character, e.g. her contemporaries, Roy or Eliwood or Leif have have been crucified for similar limited performance, and her ultimate weapon, the Sol Katti, is suicidal for her to wield. Neither of them really struggled reception-wise.Awakening's cast has gotten more votes in CYL across its history than every other game besides 3H. Even Fates couldn't escape the comparison with its predecessor and it sold better than Awakening. Its lasting impact on the franchise besides gay supports, is Camilla, and Corrin being everyone's go-to baseline for how much an MU can warp the plot around them.Maybe whatever followed up 3H was going to suffer; either way Engage will have to live with what should've been a CYL sweep being taken up by 3H. Hell, the 5th anniversary merchandise wave just means even the next Fire Emblem will probably suffer from comparisons since 3H will still be THE Fire Emblem in the public consciousness. And if it's FE4make people will be far less tolerant of its gameplay too.
