The only thing it really shares with a short hike is the cozy vibes, otherwise they're pretty different games. It shares more in common with games like professor Layton and shenmue. The game is a lot cheaper than it was on launch so it's much more affordable now, and the price is a lot more bearable. But it goes on sale quite often and I think it's going on sale soon too because of the detective sale on Steam.
