Someone please explain how gacha games can get away with basically copying other characters 1:1. Seems like especially nintendo should be right at their throat for copying hex maniac.

Translated with Google, don't @ me>Amid this crucial context for the beginning of a new generation, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa gave an interview to the Japanese newspaper Kyoto Shimbun, addressing a wide variety of strategic topics. Among the main points were the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 in light of this memory crisis, the company's vision for new games and established franchises, as well as plans involving films, potential anime, and the expansion of the Nintendo brand beyond games. The conversation offers a rare glimpse into the company's current philosophy and how Nintendo envisions its future in the coming years.>When questioned about production costs and potential price increases, Furukawa adopted a cautious tone. He explained that the Switch 2 components had been acquired based on "medium--term" orders which are still being fulfilled throuout the first quarter of 2026, which helps to reduce the immediate impact of market fluctuations, such as the current increase in memory prices, driven by high demand from the artificial intelligence sector.>Still, the executive acknowledged that if spot prices were not stabilized by the time orders were completely fulfilled, the company would have no choice but to purchase components at the current market rate. When asked directly about the possibility of price adjustments for the console, he did not shy away from answering that it would be inevitable in this scenario. However, he stated the company remains optimistic that component costs will return to normal rates in the coming months.

Extremely vague worldbuilding intentionally structured so as to be impossible to piece together in a coherent frame just isn't interesting anymore. It just makes me doubt that there even is any coherent narrative behind the world and every creative decision is based purely on cool factor. People can create hundreds of different contradictory theories and never actually be able to prove them or give sufficiently strong arguments. It all just ends in baseless speculation and people, ironically, grasping at straws that go beyond the game itself, analyzing possible references, inspirations, real world history and applying real world physical theories to a game where unobtanium is materialized out of thin air with a wand and flung as explosive projectiles without bothering to take such clear demarcations into account. Nobody still knows what the Greater Will is, which I am fine with, but we also don't even know what it does or why it is at all significant for people like Ymir and the narrator. But what if we forget about that, get back down to earth and focus solely on the character side of the story? Well, there's not much there either. Motivations are obscure and differing accounts seem to contradict each other. This would be fine if all the puzzle pieces were given yo players to piece together, but there isn't. People still don't know why Marika broke the Ring and sent the tarnished into exile. What motivations we do know are given straight from the mouths of the characters themselves, like Ranni, Rogier, Fia... why not just do the same for Marika at that point? All we get is some cryptic message from Gideon. Melina is another one whose motivations are impossible to piece together.

Don't remember any in-engine cutscenes in Code Vein 1 looking this stiff.

>>730674609>Jake Ryan SouthgateHis Freabear series is actually kino, if only he had access to a bigger budget to make the animation look less uncanny and some better voice actors. His version of William is perfect.
Not even Scott was able to surpass himself, and I say that as someone who has a lot of nostalgia for the series and it still has a special in my heart (god that sounds stupid but you get what I mean). The first game is legitimately effective horror, it makes up for its cheap jump scare gimmick with a genuinely spooky atmosphere and effective sound design. The usage of heavy shadows made the characters feel eery and tangible in a way that was never replicated in any of the follow ups. As nostalgic as FNAF 2 is for me, it was a downgrade from the first in almost every way, the atmosphere that made the first game unique was gone, the RNG was complete bullshit, and that music box gimmick was more annoying than it was fun and challenging. The only thing that FNAF 2 did that was actually spooky was the mini games, they were cryptic and disturbing, purple guy was just some random we knew nothing about, he still hadn't become the mad scientist CEO that he is now, he felt like a legitimately predatory and depraved guy, at least that was the vibe I got whenever i'd see his little smiling sprite after he just got done killing a bunch of children. Every game was just a gradual decline, that's the problem with mystery stories, eventually you have to reveal the mystery, and the mystique is permanently gone, Scott didn't get the memo and decided to keep the series going.
Have you made any friends through vidya?
>>730680292No. I look down on people who still play videogames as adults, myself included.
You can't make friends online
A have a whole group of internet friends since 2008 and tf2.For the last few years we've met up at a central location (ohio) and have done roller coasters and grilling. This year was during silksong release, so at the campfire we had 4-5 people playing it.It's generally great. Though we just recently booted the old dude who was like 15 years older that only 2 of the like 16 regulars tolerated. Most of us are 30-36 and that dude was like 55 or something. Kinda weird he was hanging around with a bunch of like 16 year olds when he was like 30.
I have actually, formed a steam group in a thread here awhile back now and I've been chilling with them almost daily for a couple weeks nowBefore that I mostly just made acquaintances through fighting game events I would attend
>>730683203yeah that'd be kind of weird haha...

>>730684197>>730684546>I'm too retarded to strategise and manage risk
>>730667368Why do you not like XCOM 2?
I'm almost ok with the hit rates once you use accuracy mods on every fucking weapon but the fucking pod triggers were infuriating>move everyone around>last guy ends behind everyone but passes a window that apparently nobody walked by and triggers a podor>move one guy 4 squares ahead>triggers one pod just around the corner and another at the edge of his vision in the opposite directionor how could I forget>use reaper to scout>2 pods are on top of each other>walk around to find a better position to start combat>they walk away from each other>trigger pod>sectopod walks off in the horizon, breaks a wall and triggers another podDoes the warhammer xcomlike have the same issue?
>>730684546Yeah, sure, but remember that a missed shot goes somewhere else and can take out a piece of cover your team was relying on being there.I managed to wipe my own squat by missing a shot that took out a wall, exposed a bunch of new enemies and ended with my panicked soldiers to kill each other until I had just one half-dead guy left that died the next round.Situations like these and occasional bugs are the reason I never do iron-man runs. Never again.
