SAM was the most braindead melee for quite a while and still at the top for most of that time. Difficulty was never the factor. It's about how selfish it is and how much utility it has. As per Yoshi. VPR is the glass cannon melee, as such it should be at the top of melees. Stop fooling yourself thinking SAM requires skill.

Dawntrail has taken over Shadowbringers as my favorite slice of storytelling in Final Fantasy XIV. Wuk Lamat’s journey, from its early sense of adventure and optimism to its second half full of sadness and existential dread, is the complete package. It’s a well-told, concise, and earnest story that avoids all the pitfalls I was worried about and took me to places I was not emotionally prepared for. I could actually see myself replaying Dawntrail in its entirety just to pore back over this adventure and look for missed details and re-experience the highs and lows. That’s a first for me, nearly a thousand hours in.

Square Enix still has a long way to go with learning how to design open world gameplay, but it was better than FF15's shitty open world, or FF16's "what if you had Xenoblade-style separate zone maps with NOTHING in them".
