Even items like the Boost Wisp can escape all of the obnoxious portal items like the weight and the slime.In short, you need to learn how to most effectively utilise the items at hand and prepare yourself for that final stretch adequately. Conserve the items that will serve you best and allow your own racing skill to take you there.
