UnReal UpDate.I bought the punt and decided to celebrate with a long boat trip!I planned to go visit the Njerpez and see if I could find an isolated fag to arrow to death. Going overland seemed way too difficult and long, so I took the boat and paddled all across southern Suomi.When I was getting close, I decided it was better to land in the lands of the Reemi and from there go on land to the Njerpez lands, instead of landing and having to camp on hostile territory.There were no Reemi villages near the sea, so I had to travel up North. Eventually met a bunch of villages close by.Then I went to the East to see the Njerpez lands. I was very careful about getting close. But then I found an elk moving along. I noticed that the East has huge marshlands ideal for hunting, unlike the West which is full of forests where prey can vanish easilyI pursued the elk and hunted it successfully, it was really easy when done in open land.I went back to the Reemi towns to prepare the skin (I de-haired it to make leather, so it took a week to be ready) and sold the meat for a Glutton fur. Then I went back on the prowl while the skin was tanning and found another elk. Hunted it too. Made sure to sacrifice to the spirits!I crashed with the Reemi while the skins were getting ready, they seemed like good people!Sold some blunt arrows I made there and the meat of the second elk in exchange for a whole lot of dried fish. Breams, Trouts, Salmon and Lavarets!Throughout my week and a half with the Reemi people I never ran into a Njerpez. I did ran into 4 Reemi robbers! What cowards! So the idea is that the bright blue areas are farther than they should be(when it comes to pathing) than the dark areas and so the floorgen algorithm should be more inclined to put high value items on the brightest spots and things to prevent the player from getting them on the slightly darker spots. Traps, pits, water, monsters, hard/dangerous terrain, etc. Hopefully this makes things more exciting.

All in all a roaring success and an excellent pizza but the dough will require more fucking until it's the perfect texture

I haven't touched this genre in a while and I feel like picking nethack back up. I beat 3.4.3 a bunch of times back when it was the newest version and touched variants a bit. What do people play nowadays, is unnethack still popular? Has vanilla become the best now that it's actually active? I want something kind of vanilla-like but hopefully both less obtuse and harder than what 3.4.3 was back then.

I was hyped for this quasimorph update but it's kind of just annoying to learn. And they removed default kits for soldiers, having to build a shitter up every time instead of just playing is very cringe. Not auto repairing after a success also seems like just a time waste.Not sure I like this game any more unfortunately. The added depth of upgrading your ship sounds fun on paper but it's kind of just a chore to even start up a mission now. The ship upgrades should add fun stuff in the level not just outside of it. Eg, air support/scans/etc

this has gone far more poorly than the first hunt, this small bear dodged two broadheads before biting me in the head, the massive 25 injury is just a single hit but also had me bleeding out, for whatever reason it just decided to run away but this injury truly pissed me off so I chased it down. It started sleeping so I was able to sneak up on it and gave it some hits to cripple it and now I can just riddle it with arrows until it goes down
