Controversial opinion on the SotE bosses: people hate them because they are actually slightly too easy, not because they are too hard. Ever notice that people are saying they are unfair and difficult but yet somehow they still beat the boss? The problem is that they are in this weird zone of being very damaging but with very telegraphed attacks so people are just whacking the boss with everything they have, taking the attack, and then just panic chugging to heal back to full. The fight they have with the boss is incredibly sloppy and they barely win after getting hit with like 12 attacks while never learning the fight, and then call the boss bad because they feel like they didn't actually do a proper fight.That's actually why you see people rate bosses like Messmer and Midra higher. You HAVE to learn their moves to beat them. If Midra pops a full combo on you, you just die from getting stunned from madness. This is compared to Bayle which people hate and just bruteforce even though if you look at like no hit runs of the boss, the fights actually are very short with each attack being cleanly dodged with very wide openings to attack back.

Midra's Manse is such a cool level, feels like a haunted mansion. Good thing too because that area up to it was a huge let down, cool visuals, but too big and empty. Like if you are going to go with that area being a stealth section, go for it, make it smaller and put more of those lanterns so you have to stealth all the way to the Manse.Midra is a fun fight, fairly predictable. Really like the way he uses versions of the Frenzy Incantations but revved up to 11. I also like that he is just a withered husk being animated by the Frenzy Flame reinforced after you kill him and the Flame disappears and his body just drops.But the area feels like a cock tease. I wanted to see more Frenzy Flame stuff. So you make this whole Frenzy area which looks great but only create ONE new Frenzy enemy ? Like how hard would it would it be to go to Bloodborne's cut enemies, slap some Frenzy Flame eyes on em and throw them in there.At least we got a cool Frenzy boss.

If you look at FROM's track record, you can see that they are actually started off with pretty bad final bosses (DaS1 and DaS2) found their way (DaS3, Bloodborne) and then lost it again (Elden Ring.) It's basically a 50/50 for them weather or not the final boss will be good.
