I noticed he wasn't hostile but he did have lock on so I fucked him up anyway thinking I'd get another marikas blessing. Didn't drop one though, not even any souls. I choose the ranni ending because I hate ranni and love marika. The game establishes that godhood is a prison even without elden beast or golden order thanks to the dlc, that it made marika unhappy and trapped. She lived her early life seeing her people genocided, her golden age came but went with her clearly becoming more and more mournful of her position as God even before godwyn's death. Now she's stuck in a vegetative state where, even as a god and returned she still lost everything and everyone she held dear to her. I think the best ending is for godhood to go to ranni, simply because marika can finally die and get some rest, hopefully her soul going to wherever her family's went to so she can be with them all again. But most importantly, the killer of her son, ranni, gets to suffer for eternity in the same prison as she was put into and has to do it without any extended family or friends or kids. Just the tarnished there. Otherwise ranni is alone to suffer in space for eternity. It's a hell essentially. And exactly what the ranni deserves.

The graves, catacombs and all that shit are on roots and they all get reincarnated somehow cause DD is sealed and they don't die-die. Thus zombies and ghosts, because the erdtree doesn't work anymore and DD is preventing normal death in this setting.
