I've been searching around shadow keep for an hour now just looking for a way to get to the eastern section and out toward the big church in the east. trying to be a guard counter enjoyer but every weapon I try with it feels kind of bad in some waybeen mostly using a zweihander for range or a hammer (morning star) for stance damage, with cragbladebut both kind of pale in comparison to just poking with the great epee from behind the shield instead of guard countering

I think the complaints about the attack combos and no delay between attacks are valid but I don't mind that really, honestly the most damning criticism of Elden Ring design is that you HAVE to hug the bosses fucking nuts cause the AoE of the attacks are so huge. Why must EVERY attack in the game stunlock you? Even the weakest attacks in the game fully stop you in your tracks regardless of what you're doing unless you are in your singular frame of hyper armor (which is only on certain moves and is extremely hard to time). Your character can wear the equivalent of 200lb of metal armor and like a 1 mph slap from a child is enough to completely cripple your stance and take 1000 damage. Now let's put these facts together shall we?Ranni had godwyn killed, stealing the rune of death marika specifically tried to hide, not only killing his soul, potentially permanently, but like her people before him, mutating godwyns body in a seemingly suffering undead like state. THATS why I think she shattered the ring, she had a mental and emotional breakdown seeing her favorite child go through the same horrors her family did before godhood, and that, despite her best attempts, the same fate followed her again and affected her son, and as a god she couldn't stop it, with the elden ring she couldn't stop it. phase 2 Consort Radahn is fucking stupid, I guess the strat is to just go around and collect every blessing so that you can tank his unavoidable AoEs...I haven't had a problem with any of the bosses until him. The DLC is very easy for STR builds and every boss is a block and counter fight until the final boss where they switch it up and blocking and guard countering is virtually impossible. The first phase was easy to learn, dodges are essential but the second half's AoEs make the dodge patterns irrelevant, I'm just running around and praying that I got a good dice roll and he wont use the instaloss ability loopsI could respec but it'd feel gross being forced to change my character I just spent an entire first playthrough of base game + DLC with
